H1B to L1A Conversion
I applied for COS from H1B to L1A. It was quite easy though I was very tensed unless it was done.

Dates -

Interview Date - 14/6/2016
Visa Issues - Just now :) 16/6/2016
Passport Received - No yet to go and collect

Process - Similar process - was in a queue for almost 1 hour and then finally was scanned for my DS160 and was taken to 10th floor for interview... went through finger printing and initial document verification - for L1A they needed 3 sets and paid the fraud fee of USD 500 and then was called for the interview.

Interview Experience -

VO - Good Morning, How are you doing...
Me - Good Morning; doing well.. how are you?
VO - Where do you come from?
Me - Told I work with XYZ Company...
VO - How long have you been with XYZ and how long with the client?
Me - XX years and YY years with client
VO - Your visa is approved. you would get it in next 7 working days. have a wonderful day.

That's all :) looks like the easiest thing now...

Happy to help others if they have questions no process and dates etc. Thank you Immihelp...

L1B rejected on 15th June
Hi Guys,

I read many pages to prepare for my L1B blanket and I always hated to write this.

I am denied with blue paper.

Here are my questions.

what is age of Kid?
is he only child?
how long have you been married?
which VISA have you applied for manager or specialized skill?
who is your client?
Tell me about your project.
is this solution specific for your client or implemented for any other client?
why have you been chosen for this?
is this skill like other skills , how it is diff from skills from company's like HCL and other companies?
how much is your salary per annum?

My VO was very nice lady and instead of building a quick initial rapport with VO I failed to convert it.

Here is what I feel for rejection.

In my second last question I answered what I prepared as a 2-3 liner answer and stopped considering what I prepared I delivered but seems she was still expecting some more justification.

I stopped bcoz I thought It's done and I was hoping she will approve it now, nothing went wrong against me but she immediately said based on your answers your VISA is clearly not approvable.

Now I feel if was little more articulate in my last answer and tried to explain more than what I prepared. I did so bcz I was over prepared. I did lot of preparation.

So guys prepare good but don't over prepare, be you, try to understand the situation.

I am dejected and feel if I can go back in time and correct my mistake. suddenly whole world looks void after rejection.

what else should I say I wish all of you good luck.

Regarding L2 Visa - two DS 160 forms
Hi All,

My fiance is in USA on L1 B and we are getting married in August and planning to go with him to USA.

To block the appointment date in August, I have started filling the DS-160 form and the current details are filled in the form as follows.

1 Marital status : Single
2. under "US contact information", "contact person: my fiance name is mentioned and "relationship to the contact person" is given as OTHER
since mentioning here as "SPOUSE" is showing it as error since Marital status is "single". Is it ok or not? Please help

And also i have been advised to fill new DS-160 form with updated information (marital status : married ) and take it along with me for the interview and inform the officials at the interview to use the latest DS-160 form. Is it ok to do like this or not? Please help me.

L1 A Visa Mechanical Engineering from Dubai
This site has been a great help for me to prepare for the interview and made me confident to face the VO. We went early in the morning along with my wife and 2 years old daughter. L1A individual petition was approved within 15 days with urgent application.

I went 3 different counters - initially I was asked some basic questions such as Name/ company name / job title & Visa type etc. Then I was asked to wait - After 15 mins, I was called again with my family. VO did not know if my visa in L1 individual / Blanket. So he asked about my job profile in Dubai and in USA. Then again, I was asked to wait which made me bit nervous. Then for the third time, VO asked me to submit the petition approval copy and the passports.
He asked me 3 copies but I had only 2 of them. He stamped approved and asked me to submit my passport for visa stamping. The entire process took approx. 1 hr including fingerprints.
The questions :
a) Where will you live in USA? - just tell him the state.
b) What is your salary current and in USA - told him.
c) When are you planning to travel? - Told within 1 month.
d) Job title ?

Thts it - its easy - just maintain some smile on your face and confidence in your speech. For L1A individual, it is almost done when your petition is approved.

Thanks,
Raghav Kale

( Its my opinion, not the legal advise).

To me:

1. Which company are you working for?
2. What is your designation?
3. Which one is your client(s)?
4. How long you have been with this company?
5. What will your US salary?
6. How many on shore direct reports you have?
7. Whom you report to?

To my wife:

1. How long you have been married, mam?
2. When is your anniversary?

L1B Blanket Petition
Hi Team,

I am from service based organization ,I have my L1b Blanket petition interview schedule next week. I have following doubt regarding the Form i129S

Question 4 Part H of form which says : I might sit at client location and require justification for the same has been Marked as "YES" .

Doubt :- Will the above "YES" answer can go wrong according to the L1b Visa laws as it is Intra Company transfer.

What should I answer the question " which client I will be working for in U.S ?"

Please suggest.
