L1 A Chennai Approved
Thanks for all who shared their experiences in this portal. It helped to prepare for the interview.

Questions asked to me were similar to the questions asked here. As there were some technical issues they asked us to carry Photograph with us.

Key to success is the profile details & confidence to explain the same to VO. if they are convinced with the profile & our answers, we will sure to get the Visa Approved.

VO was very attentive & was in eye to eye contact while we are answering.

Biometric interview - 10 mins
Documents: DS160, Appointment letter & Passport

Consulate interview - 5 mins & total time taken was 90 mins from entry to exit.

Documents: DS160, Appointment letter,Passport,& required documents for my VISA.
No supporting documents were requested during VISA, but carry it with you.

**L1B Denied**
Hi,

I appeared on 19th of June for L1B visa. But the visa got rejected. Following questions were asked:

Why are you travelling to US

What is you specialized knowledge?

What client will you be working for?

How long will you be there?

Will your salary be in INR or USD?

The VO then says, Sir! your visa is not clearly approvable and US laws are very strict. I dont really know what went wrong, because I was quite confident in answering every question.

She asked my client's name thrice though, and my specialized knowledge is in Speech Analytics Technology.

Can any help me if Speech Analytics Technology falls under speciliazed knowledge? From what I feel, it does. But any suggestions and pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Simranjeet Singh

Passport validity to attend visa interview.
Thanks a lot to people sharing experience in this Forum and helping by clarifying queries. I have been following this forum for quite some time as my L1 visa is under process.

Would like to check with this group a clarification,
“What is passport validity is required to Attend the visa interview?”

As my dependents’s (wife and daughter) passport are expiring in one year (July’16) and I am expecting visa interview in another 2 weeks July ’15.

When I Check below link .it says “ Passport validity date at least six months beyond your intended period of stay in the United States is required”,

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-gen-faq.asp

Pl. share your experience / advice, if you had come across this situation.
Thanks in Advance.

Regards,

L1A Interview on 15-Jun, passport not returned yet
I had my L1A interview this Monday in Chennai and the Interviewer mentioned that the visa is approved though the passport has not been returned for over 3 days and the status still shows processing. Anyone else facing this situation?

As for the interview, the interviewer asked just one question - Explain briefly on what you do? I responded in a couple of sentences. Even before finishing my response, he started typing something on his system and jotted down something on my 1-129. In between he clarified on my wife's lost passport as she was with me applying for L2. Then he asked me to carry the two copies while traveling and said "Thank you".

L1B (Individual) & L2 are approved chennai @ 11 June 2015
This experience section cover almost everything.

As I see and learn from my experience no need to take hypertension, as your petition is approved you just have to aware of it properly and give straight forward and exact answer to visa officer.

In my case only 3 questions asked, not a single questioned asked to my wife for (L2).

1. What is you're company name?
2. Which visa applying for?
3. Specialization?

That's it. I would love to help if anyone like to know anything else.

All the best...

L2 Visa approved @ 11 July 2015
Hi All,

Wanted to share my experience of L2 visa interview at New Delhi consulate.
I have an active L1B visa but now applied for L2 visa since my spouse is travelling to the U.S.
I had prepared a lot for the questions and worked on documents that could be required during interview. Fortunately visa interview revolved around my visa, marriage and spouse employment details olnly.

Following questions were asked to me:

1. You already have a L1B visa so why do you want to apply for L2?
2. With which company is your L1B visa?
3. Are you working for same company and project?
4. How long have you been married?
5. Is it an arranged marriage?
6. Where did you meet, in the U.S.?
7. How long your spouse has been associated with his company?
8. What's your spouse designnation in India?
9. What is his speciality (due to his L1B visa)?

Tips for interview:

Whatever questions we see on internet are superset of questions but the question asked to individual will be dependent on their case history. Since my interview was focused on some topics, VO didn't ask for any document neither marriage photo album/certificate.

Be straightforward and try to give exact answers to what is asked. Even when VO is frank and seem to be conversational still be point to point.

All the best for fellow folks!!

Thanks to this forum! L1B & L2 are approved
I attended interview at Chennai location on 11th June. In Chennai Biometric test and interview are in different places.

I attended Biometric test at 11:00 AM

For me whole process took 15 mins.

You would find separate line for each time slot outside of the building. Based on the time scheduled security will allow you inside the building. So you need to reach early like one hour before. Make sure you are the before 30 mins of your appointment.

Mobile is allowed, but it needs to turned off. There is no locker available to store your belongings.

They have verified

1, DS 160 confirmation Page
2, Appointment confirmation
3, Passport

After the verification token will be given to you and you need go to the respective counter when your token number is called for Biometric test and also the digital photos will be taken there.

For me the consulate interview is on same date. June 11, 1 PM.

Outside of the consulate, there is a small storage room where you can keep your purse, pen drive and mobiles. The token will be provided to you. I did not use it and it is just a FYI.

Whole process took 40 mins. Please carry latest Photos as mentioned by US VISA photo specifications. If the photo is not recent one or not satisfies specifications then they will ask you go to another counter to take the photo which will delay your visa process.

They have verified DS 160, Passport, 129 Petition and I1797

VO: Good Afternoon!
Me: Good Afternoon! How are you sir?

VO: I am doing good thanks! How long you are working in this company
Me: Given the answer

VO: What is your specialized Knowledge
Me: Explained

VO: What is tool and Product ?
Me: Explained

VO: The Product you developed is a software?
Me: Explained

VO: Does it require any license
Me: Explained

VO: How long you are working in this tool ? Have you developed this tool ?
Me: Explained

VO: I approve your visa and have a safe trip
Me: Thank you sir

There was no question for my wife.
