L1 Blanket Approved
This forum helped me a lot while i was preparing for my interview. So i am jotting down my experience.
I got my L1 Blanket approved today.

My interview slot was at 8.30 AM. i reached by 7.30 and i entered the consulate around 8.40.
Everything after that was very swift. They arranged my documents in order and soon i was in front on VO.
I greeted him and asked him how he is doing.

I was asked below questions:
1. How long do you plan to stay
2. What project are you going to work on in the US
3. How much salary are you going to get
4. Where in US will you be working
5. What is your designation
6. How long have you been working at your current company

Then he said my Visa is approved and gave me 2 sets of my I-129 and I-797 back.
Then i wished him Happy New Year and left :)

L1A Blanket - Approved
Hello All,

First of all - Many thanks to this forum. This really helped me to have an idea of how the PAI will be. Wonderful site!!

My Bio-metrics was on 26th Dec. Unfortunately, it took me 2 hours as there was a delay due to technical issues. My slot was at 1.30 PM but completed only by 3.30 PM.

My PAI was on 27th Dec. My Interview scheduled at 9 AM IST. There were 3 long queues for 8.30 AM, 9 AM and 9.30 AM slots.

After security check, I was allowed inside the building. All L Blanket applicants were called and they collected the 3 sets of I129s+I797, BEP letter, DS160 Confirmation Page, Passport and DDs. They verified once and gave to back to me with a rubber band around.

Then I was asked to stand in a counter for Finger prints, then moved to DD counter and got the receipt. Then I was asked to move to Visa interview Queue. All this was complete by 9.10 AM.

There were 4 persons before. For the first person the VO almost took 20 mins, meantime in the next counter interview of close to 15 persons completed. Then the VO took only a couple of mins for the next 2 persons. Then it was my turn and only a very few questions. All was complete by 9.40 AM.

VO: Good Morning, your petition please?
VO: How long have you been with current Organization?
VO: Who is your Client?
VO: What do they do? Can you spell the Client Name?
VO: What is your Indian Salary?
VO: What will be your Salary in US?
VO: How many reportees you will have at US?
VO: I'm approving you Visa. Please wait a minute to complete the documentation work.
Me: Thank you Sir. Wish you a very happy new year.
VO: To you too!

I couldn't believe. It was over!!!

Thanks to this forum. All the best!

L1A approved on 31st December
Hello All,
This is a great forum where all can benefit by reading others experience. I had my bio-metrics and Consulate on 30th and 31st December. You all know by now OFC is just for bio-metrics and takes less time. Please DO NOT go an hour or two before, they won't let you in. You can go there maybe 30 minutes ahead of your appointment time.

I have visited U.S before on B1 and L1B and had prior experience of attending visa interview (s). There were a number of people who were ahead of me in different lines getting 221 (g). One thing common I observed there was the nervousness of the candidates while answering the questions. I could hear their voice shivering, and they were talking way too fast. My interview was very simple and precise. He didn't ask me a lot of questions.

VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning, How you doing?

VO: I'm pretty good, Thank You. How about yourself?
Me: I'm doing well, it's a beautiful day!

VO: Please give me your passport

VO: Is this L1-A?
Me: Yes That is correct.

VO: Who do you work for?
Me: I work for YYYY

VO: How long have you been working for this company?
Me: 12 Years and counting

VO: What is your U.S Salary?
Me: $$ and Perks and Bonus

VO: Please give me your approved I-797
Me: Passed it

VO: How many people report to you?
Me: Currently 21 and I need to hire 5 more as soon as I get back

VO: Your visa is approved, please collect your passport after 3 days.
Me: Thank You, Have a good one.

My advice, Keep it simple. Don't be nervous. Good Luck and God Speed!

L1-B Approved @ Chennai on 26th Dec 2013 ahmdh :)
Believe me guys i was dying to write this post.. since the day my visa was initiated and i was following this site..

Kudos to immihelp and thanks to one and all for sharing their experiences that really boosted my confidence.. i was following the posts here since couple of months now.. and prepared a pattern and believe me it really helped..

I had my biometric and PAI on the same day.. @ 8 AM and 11 AM respectively..
It was really crowded according to me but people said this is less today.. not too sure.. ne waz go according to your appointment that should not be a problem.. and guys with kid can talk to the staff and skip the line if required..

Jumping on to the Questions directly:

FYI: He rejected the guy in front of me after having almost 15 mins of discussion.. stating "We at US are looking for some extremely specialized skill set and according to our discussion today you does not really qualify that, please ask your HR to raise your visa in diff category".. my heart sank.. but i boosted my self sayin now d odds are he ll approve the next visa but really tensed inside.. people say be calm n do not listen but believe me once you are in you cant avoid that but than too try to compose yourself..

VO: Are you going to work at client side ? (tricky question straight away)
Me: Yes, but i ll be employed by my parent company XYZ.

VO: Why are you going to US ?
Me: Answered. (starting with project requirement and job duties)

VO: What is your specialization sir ? (as i hav mentioned my specialization in the previous question, he stopped me there itself and asked this question)
Me: Explained in detail.

VO: What is XYZ architecture ?
Me: While explaining above i understood that he is not following me and it is becoming lil fast or too technical so he stopped me in btw and he wanted to ask me specific question on my specialized architecture, googled it asked me specific questions :)

VO: Why are you selected ?
Me: Answered.

VO: How many people in your company work on this ?
Me: Answered.

VO: What is your team size ?
Me: Answered.

VO: Why this is required ?
Me: Answered.

VO: How it ll help your client ?
Me: Answered.

VO: Is it project specific ? how many clients you have served ?
Me: Answered.

VO: Are these your company propriety tools ?
Me: Answered.

VO: Which languages are used ?
Me: Answered.

VO: How exactly it works ?
Me: Answered.

VO: What architecture and integration you said, please elaborate ?
Me: I explained in detail but crisp and less technical specifications.

VO: Your salary ?
Me:

After that he was typinh something in the screen for almost 4-5 mins.. and took my docs and started stamping something, i was still not too sure..
but when i saw he ticked approved section on the stamp.. i realized.. THIS IS IT !!!

and then the golden words :)

VO: Your Visa is approved sir.. enjoy your stay in the US :)
Me: Thanks :) (verified the correct stamp and left the counter)

Note: Prepare yourself well.. do not become judgemental there.. they see each case differently.. and imp thing.. try to drive the interview yourself
and just brief as in no one else knows this and its just your company desperately wants you there.

Best of luck to all of your guys :)
Stay blessed.

L1B on hold
Thanks to all for sharing the information. This site really helps to learn and share most of the questions related to interview.
I had my L1B visa interview on 24th dec and unfortunately it is put on hold due to PCC.

Here are the questions :

VO : Which company you are from?
Me : ZZZ

VO : How long ypu have been working in the company?
Me : Answered

VO : Where will you stay in US?
Me : Answered

VO : Could you please explain your project?
Me : Explained with 2 to 3 sentences.

Afterwards VO gave me a doc saying that the PCC is needed to approve the visa.

Could anybody had similar experience before?

What would be the format for PCC? Please share

L1B approved in Chennai on Dec 23
Big Thanks to people who have posted their experiences here. This site clearly helps in understanding what is needed. just go thru 10 pages of latest interview experiences to get an idea as how it all goes. It was an L1B for my husband and dependent visa for me and our kid.

OFC was on dec 22 at 15:30hrs and appt at consulate was on Dec 23rd 11:30am.
Our kid was restless and got too cranky at both the places so had a lil tough time managing him.
The interview went on really well. Here are the questions asked.. most of these questions are expected and most of you would have read from other posts..

Hus: Hi, Good Morning!
VO: Hello, Good Morning!

VO: Which company do you work for?
Hus: ZZZ

VO: Whats your designation here?
Hus: ZZZ

VO: Ok let's get started.. What is your specialization?
Hus: Explained in a line.

VO: Is the product, a proprietary product of your company?
Hus: Yes.

VO: Did you work in developing this product?
Hus: Yes - on few versions.

VO: What language is this product developed with?
Hus: Told..

VO: Whats your role in US?
Hus: Told.

VO: Indian salary?
Hus: ZZZ

VO: US Salary?
Hus: ZZZ

VO: How long have you been married ?
Hus: Told..

I was moving a lil here n there to distract my kid as he was starting to cry.. And the VO himself was trying to make our kid smile in middle of the interview conversation.

Finally, one question to me,
VO: Whats your latest degree of qualification?
Me: Told..

He then said, I am approving your visa and carry this when you travel to the US.
We wished him merry christmas and a happy new year!

One thing I observed was, the VO tried to understand my husband's case. Like the specialization, his duties etc before jumping to a decision.
May be a strong case of specialization and a lil of God's grace should be good to crack this!

All the best!

L1A Blanket on 24-Dec
I had my L1A Blanket PA on 24-Dec and would like to share my experience.

VO: Good Morning
Me: Very Good Morning

VO: So, you are applying for L1? Is it L1A or L1B?
Me: It is L1A Blanket

VO: Ok, Which company do you work for?
Me: Answered

VO: How long are you with this company?
Me: Answered (also added details about the total experience)

VO: Who is your client?
Me: Answered

VO: What is your current salary?
Me: Answered

VO: What will be your salary in the US?
Me: Answered

VO: Whom do you report to?
Me: Answered

VO: Whom does your supervisor report to?
Me: Answered

VO: What is his designation?
Me: Answered

VO: What does your supervisor manage and what does his supervisor manage?
Me: Answered (saying supervisor manages all projects of client and supervisor's supervisor manages the XYZ domain)

VO: What will be your role?
Me: Answered

VO: How many associates will be reporting to you?
Me: Answered

VO: How many of them are direct and how many indirect?
Me: Answered

VO: All of those associates are in the US?
Me: No, currently XX associates are in the US.

VO: Whatever you had explained so far, I don't think you will be eligible for the visa today since your experience is less. I am sorry (about to stamp it as REJECTED)
Me: (My heart beat raised, but I do not want to give up).. If you give me a minute, I can explain why I have been chosen for this position.

VO: I don't think that changes anything, but please go ahead with whatever you want to say
Me: Explained why I am the suitable person for the position. Also highlighted my earlier stay in the US and highlighted my strengths according to the project. It took 5-10 minutes for me to explain in all aspects. When I am half way through this, VO put the stamp aside and listening to my explanation. I talked boldly and explained why I am the best suite for the position.

VO: You were on L1A or L1B earlier?
Me: I was on L1B earlier, but I was handling the managerial related work as an additional responsibility.

VO: Oh ok, your visa has been approved. I am stamping on your I-797. Please carry these during your travel. All the best for your stay in the US.
Me: (Happily..) Thank you so much, have a merry christmas

VO: Thank you! You too.
Me: Thanks a lot!

I want to suggest associates that the main thing is to convince the VO about your strenghts and that you are the best suited for the position. Answer boldly and confidently. That matters a lot.

All the best!
