L1B Visa Approved !
I got my L1B visa approved few days back. It was in Chennai and was in the morning slot.
I would say its mainly how you feel on that day and how the VO who interviews you is on that day. I didn't get too many questions. The guy before me was rejected and thats when I went to her.
She started typing almost as soon as I gave her my BEP folder- I was smiling or I hope it was one :) I had relative a 4 + years of experience in the same project and company so that helped.
I believe a good deal of luck and also presentation is involved. Don't by heart any answers-just make sure you use key-words like specialize, propriety, framework, integrate etc instead of tools and other common technologies.
Above all pray well :) and don't worry if you don't get it-that way you will be more naturaland calm thats whats most important.

L1B and L2 approved on 23rd April 2010
Hi, My L1B and L2 visa for my spouse got approved on 23rd april

The few questions asked were
How much is your total experience?
Client name?
How much exp with the current client?
What will you do in US?
How much stay in US during last visit?
How long you are married?

No questions were asked to my spouse. It was hardly i min interview. I would advice all to reach atleast 30 min before interview as sometimes there is a long queue and be confident in your replies.

All the Best!!!

L1B Approved on 23rd April
Hi,
My L1B got approved yesterday. Thanks a ton to all the people who have posted their experiences and tips. A many thanks to moderators of this site. It has been really helpful for preparation of the interview.
The questions asked to me was as below,

1. Who is your client?
2. Since how long you are working for this client?
3. What is your specialized knowledge?
4. How much experience do you have working in this special domain?

Then she started writing on the forms and said your visa is approved.

I think speaking confidently is the key and keep it simple, give precise and to the point answers. I saw 2 rejections ahead of me, who were not able to convince the Visa officer for the specialized knowledge they have. They were making stories like I can do everything from requirements gathering, development, testing, design. This thing everyone can do and its not special. Just try to give the specific answer about domain/module you know. And also avoid using lot of technical terminologies. Maintain eye contact.

All the best for the folks who are going for interview.

Thanks a lot for the moderators of this site and for those who post their previous experience. It is really very helpfull

VO Qn : Who is your client?
Ans : My client is YYYY

VO Qn : What about your project
Ans : My project is YYYY . It deals with YYYY in the ZZZZ domain

VO Qn : What are your roles and responsibilities?
Ans : I am the offshore lead. I am doing Development, Deployment and Defect fixing if any in the YYY Application

VO Qn : What is your specialised skill set?
Ans : I am specialised in CICS, COBOL, DB2, IDMS, OLQ and DMLO. In these technologies i have a total experience of nearly 5 years. I also customised a decision engine product called YYY to my client that will add cost saving to the client

VO : Your Visa is approved. You will get passport in 4 days

Points to Note:
1. Be confidence and Cool
2. Maintain Eye to Eye contact (It will add advantage)
3. If you are having more experience - highlight that

L1- B Approved
Got my L1-B approved today
was all the standard questions which are thr in this site

What I could find as a reason for couple of rejections that happened in front of me was that of less experience

I would say something of around 4 years is pretty safe (just my thought on it) . people with less experience also get approved

Another thing is that when we say we have some specialized knowledge , our own company should be acknowledging that, i.e our Indian salary should be high compared with the standard

You cant expect them to believe that we have a very special skillset and yet we are payed less

L1 B Rejected
All went well initially, but at the end it was rejected. VO was cool and I answered to all the questions. I believe that the rejection is due to experience on the current project on which you are going to work. I explained that I've been working on similar projects, but still got rejected. Most of the guys from our company got rejected on the same day in spite of eligibility. It all depends on the VO and finally luck.
