Oci Checklist question
I was able to submit in goverment of india website and have my applicaition. I paid fee on vfs global and it printed out all the documents along with confirmation. Now my question is in each page the header has Applicant's name, Passport no: Phone and Email. Do we need to fill that or is it for staff? It doesn't specify the instructions anywhere.
Also do we need to send in our original indian canceled passport? Surrendered Passport along with the copy of the Surrender/Renunciation Certificate must be submitted
for Indian passports surrendered after May 2010. My passport is from May 2010.

Does anyone know which email to send the return label to receive OCI card. There is no email address to be found anywhere on the vfs website.

New Oci in Nov 23 2020 experience. Still waiting for oci card 4th week in progress
Hi All,
Has anyone got their new oci card using vfs after applying in November second week using indian consulate in new York and vfs combo?
I am adding my time line for reference. I am still waiting for my oci card.
Date of acknowledgement of indian consulate in new York is Nov 23 2020.
Usa Passport returned Dec 02 2020 from vfs via FedEx
Status on India govt website is oci card printed and received in ny indian consulate: Dec 15 2020
Today is Dec 20 20 and thus 4th week started after date of acknowledgement of Nov 23 2020
I proactively sent fedex third return envelope and it reached vfs as of Wed Dec 15 2020. This is for vfs to return the oci card
I have had 2 friends who applied for oci in Nov 2020 using vfs and indian consulate ny combo and they also did Not get new oci cards to hand.
I wanted to travel to see my elderly mother and thus my general frustration and some got their oci cards in 4 to 5 weeks and some did not get in the same time line.

New OCI application - San Francisco

I got new OCI card for my daughter today. Here is my experience-
Application sent on 6th Nov
Got passport back on 11th Nov
Date of Acknowledgement at Embassy- 12th Nov
Document Printed - 4th Dec
Dispatched from New Delhi - 11th Dec
Received at San Francisco - 15th Dec
Received E-mail from VFS for payment of $15 - 16th Dec
We instantly did the payment and in 1 hour received e-mail from Fedex for label creation. But they didn't mail the card on same day.
Next day we got the e-mail from VFS stating "Your Application has been reviewed by the Consulate/Embassy name and is {ready for collection at the ICAC or will be dispatched within 24 business hours }."
Finally today we got the OCI card. Just wanted to share my experience with others if it will help them to understand the timeline and process.

OCI VFS center NY - Direct Contact Number
Does anyone have Direct contact number to VFS NY center ? The centralized customer service is useless. I need to collect my daughter's passport asap for an emergency.
Do not know how to get hold of them , can we just go to their office ?

New OCI card 2020/VFS Houston
I sent my application for new oci card on Nov 9th and i got an email from vfs automated system on 10th that they received it and it's under process at ICAC. On Nov 11th i got another automated email saying my application is processed at ICAC and is in transit to embassy. I received my passport on nov 17th via fedex that I paid for when sent the application.
On oci status tracker, date of acknowledgement is 12 nov, document dispatched from new delhi on 4th dec and received at Houston on 4th dec.
On Dec 15th, i received an email from vfs and it included an invoice of $15 and was mentioned as for courier service, I paid that right away and emailed that i made a payment on the email provided on the invoice.
On Dec 16th, i received an email from fedex that a label was created and i will get my courier on dec 17th by end of the day. But the courier is not even picked up yet. Is this normal???

Waiting for new OCI
Hi Guys, same situation as you guys for New OCI card for minor,
Nov-9: Application received by VFS
Dec-2: Gov site tracking: Document received At New York CGI
Dec-3: VFS email notification: Your Application has been reviewed by the Consulate/Embassy name and is {ready for collection at the ICAC or will be dispatched within 24 business hours }.
Dec-8: VFS replied back on my query stating: "As per the update from the concern department, please be informed that you will receive an notification from the application center once we receive your OCI Card from the Embassy / Consulate." Now not sure how they have not received the new OCI, as per government tracking site it clearly says NY CGI has received on Dec2nd.
Dec-9: Called VFS, they asked me email and mail UPS return shipping label. So did email to [email protected] and [email protected]. Also mailed them hard copy.
