OCI on Hold due to Parents/Spouse name not matching
I made a mistake in Gov form (for OCI for self) and didn't put middle name of my parents and Wife which are present in my cancelled Indian passport.
Not they are asking for "1. Official Court Order for the name change OR 2. Notarized Affidavit saying that the Name of the person in the OCI Government Form and the Indian passport belong to the same person" Notarized affidavit must come from both parents explaining the name difference in the government application form. "
My Father is in India and bedridden, He can't do this physically and even if he does, it will take days to send that to USA and send to CKGS.
Can I do the affidavit in USA without he being present?
Why can't I just re submit the Gov form by fixing it. I have send them email 3 days ago and no response.
Now I am stuck. Does this mean my $340 is gone and may have to get my application(USA passport) back?
Resubmit all new application?
With the company change, I don't think they care anymore.

Has anyone received a new OCI card since Oct 1st? My OCI card was almost about to arrive, but with CKGS to VFS change, it may be indefinitely delayed.
I even suspect either OCI applications are not being processed or held in Delhi until this transition is complete. As usual the consulate will not provide a good time line for transition.

OCI is not worth it because most countries consider it dual citizenship even though india claim it won't be dual citizenship.
If you are OCI holder US consulate will not interfere if you are victim in india due to high corruption. With visa US consulate will interfere and try to help you.
