OCI reissued in Washington DC in 36 days
The Washington DC center may not be as fast as NYC or Houston; but it is not too bad either. We got ours in exactly 36 days from submission at the CKGS office in DC to get the FedEx in our hands.
We needed to get our OCI reissued for passport change and address change. We had a hell of a time in filling the application as the instructions, though plentiful, sucked. We had to scratch a submitted application form about six times as, every timer, we call the help line to get something clarified, we get a slightly different instruction.
If we ever had to do it again, we probably would opt for getting visa every time. The hassle for a so-called "lifelong visa" is not worth it.
At the same time, 36 days time is far better than three months it took us about 10 years ago.

OCI Passport Update with address change. SFO. Took 44 days to receive new OCI card.
OCI update for Passport for my kids got completed today. Just received the new OCI cards with the update of new passport.

Here are the documents which I sent to CKGS:
1) oci application form
2) Passport size photo - 2 count - use a white background and wear a dark color shirt
3) address proof (electricity bill, rental agreement, mortgage agreement etc)
4) money order / cashiers check for the OCI application fee, (fedex fee if any)
5) affidavit signed by notary form for minor (you will get the form after your online submission)
6) affidavit signed by notary for minor's US passport
7) original OCI card
8) passport page copies for minor
9) parents legal status proof (VISA, GC, or US passport copies)
10) minors birth certificate copies
11) make sure minor signs in all places (if minor is > 5 yr old). all copies should be signed by minor
12) make sure parents signs in all places

Renunciation- Washington DC
Hello All, I have completed the online forms for Renunciation and am in process of sending my docs to Washington. My questions are -
1. Renunciation - Anyone has any experience with DC ckgs? i only have 1 application for Renunciation
2. while working on the online Renunciation form, Washington was filled in by default based on my address. so, can i send my dos to NY instead? or do I have to send my Renunciation docs to the DC ckgs ? also, whats the ETS for Renunciation completion rpocess via Washington
3. i have 2 Indian PP. PP 1 - expired . PP 2 - applied and issued in Washington and still valid. didnt travel out of USA since i got my USA pp. so, do i also send both my Indian PP or PP2 which expires on 2021 only ? (i my guess is send both)
4. I thought CKGS would do Renunciation and OCI together. seems like i now have to do Renunciation first then resend docs for OCI - is this the case ? i swear i had seen CKGS site sometime ago where you could do both at the same time. maybe they changed the process.
I have called CKGS helpline number but cant get thru a rep. literally on hold with elevator music for 30mins avg.

Does anyone know how long does SFO CKGS centre take to complete documents verification? Its been almost a week and still it is showing as 'Received Not verified'

Status of OCI Card New - Minor (SFO Jurisdiction)
Anyone from SFO Jurisdiction submitted application in Last week of January received the OCI Card. I know its 60 days for SFO. But have seen cases processed in 1 month period. Please update the status. Thank you !
