Parental Authorization form
I have applied OCI card for my Son. He is below 5 years old. The mandatory Parental Authorization form was signed by both me and my spouse (there are only signature boxes available on that page). I have Notarized it with only our signature. Now i see in another post that Baby finger Print is also required on this document. Please confirm on this. Thank you !

OCI Renewal - Part B question need help
I am applying for my OCI renewal as I am over 50 years old.

In Part B, the first question is

1. Have you/any member of your family applied for Overseas Citizen of India registration earlier? Yes/No

It then asks for the reference number, application date and application place

My whole family already has OCI cards (me, wife and two sons). Do I need to enter the data for all four of us?

I do not remember the exact application dates as it was in 2006 but have the date of issue for all.
I was thinking of submitting the dates of Issue instead.

One of my sons has already renewed his OCI. So do I need to submit his new OCI details?

I have done a lot of search online but could not find the answer.

Thank you and appreciate your help.

OCI/E-Visa Application
Hi,

We have our OCI renewal application still in process, so looking to apply for E-Visa.

E-Visa application, under section: "Previous Visa / Current Visa" where it asks: "Have you ever visited India", we had visited previously using OCI (which had U VISA type), so Yes, seems right answer but then VISA type needs to be selected from list of options but (OCI) U VISA type isn't an option. So, does anyone know how to complete this section?

Marking No didn't seem logical as next question: Countries visited in 10 years will have India as answer.

Appreciate any guidance.

OCI Adult Chicago - Very Fast Service!
Below is my experience and hopefully will be useful to some folks. I am a naturalized US citizen and took my oath in November 2019. In Chicago they have discontinued the option of renunciation + OCI so I had to do the renunciation first and get the Indian passport stamped with the cancellation stamp as well as get the renunciation certificate first. The "certificate" is just the same printout that you send out with a govt. stamp on it. Anyways after I received that I applied for the OCI booklet. Make sure to take a different photo than what you used when you applied for your US (or other) passport. Use that same photo to scan and upload on the govt. site for OCI. I submitted black and white photocopies of all the documents asked, except for the passports. I sent both the US and cancelled Indian original passports with my application. Also included the photo copies of the relevant pages asked in the CKGS checklist. The checklist is very good and explains clearly how to prepare the application. Please make sure to go through it properly before starting to fill out the forms. The passports are returned back within a week, give or take. Below is my timeline for CKGS:

OCI and E-Visa both causes issues
Hi experts,

Due to various reports like the one pasted below, and after talking to Indian immigration authorities in India, I decided to get an e-Visa, in addition to already existing OCI (but stamped on an old passport).

Upon immigration in India, I was challenged on why I had both OCI and e-Visa, even though the recommendation to procure eVisa came from Indian Immigration authorities. Anyways, the whole immigration check took a long while, as the officer-on-duty had to "manually" workaround the system to allow entry. Same experience while leaving India. The officer-on-duty during Emigration at India said that we will have to live with this experience till the life of eVisa.

My question to experts: has anyone faced a similar situation? any way to rescind OCI/eVisa and start afresh? I don't want to go through the same hassle every time I go to India. I am sure neither do the immigration officers.

OCI card delay @ Washington DC
Hello

I applied for mine and mine wife OCI card at Washington DC with a receipt date of 22nd September. I have not received the OCI card so far and government of India website shows it is still under process. My understanding was that it could take upto 60 business days but we are past that processing window. CKGS folks seem clueless. They first said to contact after 60 business day and when I did so now they are saying that 60 business day is an average processing time and there is no limit to amount of time it could take.

I was wondering if someone is in a similar boat with Washington DC consulate and if there is any way to get an accurate status of the application? I have a upcoming travel in about 15 days to India and would rather like not to apply for eVisa if this OCI shows up. It is really a frustrating experience.
