5/12/2023--No additional action on my case until the day of my interview for my N400 application, the USCIS interviewing me told me to make sure to bring my spouse and anything else for the I751 application since he just saw that my I761 was also pending and we’ll just do both interviews today. 😊

3/31/2023 We scheduled an interview for your N400 Application
5/12/2023 We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review.
5/12/2023 Your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, was placed in line for oath ceremony scheduling.
5/12/2023 Oath Ceremony was mailed.
5/11/2023 Oath Ceremony (Scheduled for June 2nd )

6/2/2023 All expired EAD and two year greencard and current ten year greencard are surrendered and naturalization certificate issued at the oath taking ceremony.

(I only had my ten year greencard less than a month from May 19th to June 2nd)

Interview was pretty straightforward. I got the civics questions correct so he only asked six. Reading Writing were easy.
He spent most of the time just reviewing what I submitted. I even offered to show more pictures and evidence but he said I submitted a lot of information already. Lol
At the end he handed me paper saying I passed the civics/reading/writing and that my case was recommended for approval but subject to quality review.
Status was updated all on the same day. By end of day, Oath Ceremony was mailed and available online and saw it was for June 2nd. He said if I get the 10 yr GC, just bring it, and all other USCIS issued documents to Oath Ceremony as they’ll be collecting that since they won’t be valid once I’m a citizen.
Overall a pleasant experience. So happy it’s almost over! 😊

N-400 interview - Los Angeles
Hello,

How long did you wait for an update after your interview? He said I passed the civics test but he was going to further look into my border crossings since I had too many (I lived in San Diego so I would often go to Tijuana for medical or pleasure). My status is still "Interview scheduled" since 03/03/23.

Please share your experiences!

Thanks,

N-400 Timeline SanJose, CA
Hi All,

This forum has been very helpful over the year. I have passively monitored other applicants' progress and found a lot of solace in knowing that my cases have been progressing well too. So, I wanted to share my citizenship experience here.

Here it goes:

N-400 filed electronically on Jan 30th, 2023 (based on 5 year GC)
Fingerprinting notice received on Feb 5th, 2023 (Scheduled for Feb 24th, 2023)
Did a walk-in for fingerprinting appt on Feb 17th, 2023 as I was traveling on Feb 24th
Interview notice received on April 24th, 2023
Interview scheduled in the San Jose office for May 30th, 2023.

I wasn't expecting it to be this quick. Reading about other experiences, I thought I would get an interview by Aug/Sept 2023. Anyhow, I guess I lucked out. I will update as things progress.

Cheers!

Citizenship application process
Hi,
I got my green card in December 2016 through my spouse EB1C petition and would like to apply for Citizenship now that we have completed 5 years. However, my spouse is not interested and would like to retain the GC status and India passport.

My question here is if I can proceed to apply for US citizenship without my spouse (He is the primary applicant for GC) and will this create any issue in the application process or interview process?

Appreciate any help on the same.

Thank you,
