My Experience
Here is my timeline:
- Applied on March 6, 2019: I mailed my N-400 based on the 5 years (3 months before I completed the 5 years). I am Syrian and my GC was based on working Visa (H1B).
- March 28, 2019, I did my biometrics: I applied from western Wisconsin, and the IO told me they assign all the application from this area to Minneapolis, MN office.
- June 7, 2019, I was scheduled for an interview. (Even my online status was showing 20 months estimated waiting time).
- July 18, 2019, I did my interview in Minneapolis and was recommended for approval. the IO told me I would do my Ceremony and Oath on the same day if I didn't request to change my name, and since I'm from WI they transferred my application back to Milwaukee WI office and they will be scheduling me later (the IO told me it will sometime in October).
The interview was very easy and the IO was super friendly, he didn't ask for any document other than my passport, ID, and Green Card. we did the English and the Civic exam (very easy just study all the vocabularies on the civics book and you will be good to go). after that he went through my N400 and that was it!

very excited and happy that I'm so close to be a US Citizen after 11 years living here.
