Travel after interview
Just a quick note on what happens if you travelled after the interview but before the ceremony:
The oath ceremony form asks about this, and other changes since the interview, and states you will have to bring evidence to the ceremony.
I was a bit worried, but it's no problem. They only send you to a different check-in, where they ask your travel dates and country, and to see your passport. I brought the boarding passes too but didn't need them.

Proud US Citizen Now
Have been reading this forum for years to get to know the experiences of people for Adjustment of Status then GC and then finally on becoming a naturalized citizen

I just wanted to share with you all that I came to US over 5 years back and had applied for Asylum with my family it was approved within a couple of months and I had recieved my GC a year after.

I even visited my COP for 3 weeks after a year when I had received my GC.

Please see my time line for below for naturalization:

Dec 22 2018 - N400 Submitted online
Dec 29 2018 - Biometrics appointment Scheduled
Jan 17 2019 - Went for BioMetrics
April 25 2019 - Interview for Naturalization was scheduled
May 30 2019 - Interview was conducted
May 30 2019 - Case Approved at the time of interview
May 31 2019 - Scheduled for Oath Ceremoney
June 22 2019 - Took The Oath and Became a US Citizen

Everything went very smooth with no hickups thankfully, I had a lot of questions and fear in my mind that what will happen at the interview as I was a previous asylee and had also visited my COP the reason to go back was to sell my property and see my old parents.
Anyhow at the interview no such question was asked about my visit to COP except about the last visit out of the US which was a 2 day visit to Canada , just want to let you all know esp. those who are asylees or former asylees please dont overthink at all prepare your file and learn the US history and Civics questions by heart,this is not a confrontational interview, IO would only verify the information you have provided on the N400 form and that is it.
Please do prepare your file for documentary evidence, include past 5 years taxes returns,your W2 and recent paystubs, Job placement letters, paid reciepts of your traffic tickets and yours and your children's original Birth Certificates and original Marriage certificate ( if you are married).
My IO didnt ask for any document though I had taken the whole folder with me but i would suggest take it along for just in case. My interview went very smooth it lasted for less than 20 mins, I was asked 6 questions about the US history and civics and I gave all the answers correct. I had learned all 100 of the question and answers by heart.
Have taken oath now and I am a proud US citizen I pray that all of you who are in line may get over it soon. So please do not overthink nothing is going to happen to you , try not to get traffic tickets and please stay away from crime , be a responsible US resident pay your taxes on time and work hard at what ever work you do. Show a good moral character.YOU all will be through ( and yes stay Positive)

Thank you for reading the my expreience.

My interview went very well, the IO was very nice, past the civics test and English test without any problem. Then we went through everything on the application and update my employment history and trips outside the US. The interview was done in 30 mins and was recommended for approval. 2 days later, I see the oath letter on my online account. Very excited to become a US Citizen.

N-400 Interview
Hey guys:

During the last 12 months, I have been coming to this forum looking for experiences every week. Now is my turn to provide mine to the community.

* GC 5 years.
* No criminal record.
* Arrived in the US after 26 (Selective Service letter status required even when I was not required to register.)
* 1 speeding ticket (4 years ago)
* 24 trips, almost all of them for work (84 days total) | 6 of them after submitting the application.

Timeline | Oakland Park Field
- May 15, 2018 - application filled online.
- June 5, 2018 - biometric was taken
- June 5, 2019 - interview - approved and oath letter handed.
- June 18, 2019 - Oath Ceremony

Interview Experience:

Attended my interview on June 5, 2019, 11:20 am with tons of paper(lol). Everyone was nervous(our faces showed it) in the room and waiting. I forgot to list my speeding ticket (4 years ago) on my N400, so I decided to get certified copies of it in order to fix it on my application. I always prefer to say everything to have peace of mind. I was called at 12:20 pm and the officer said, Mr. BBB how are u doing? follow me this is gonna be quick. We had a short conversation on the way to his office, then he said please have a sit and right after put me under oath. I mentioned my traffic ticket and gave him the certified copy then he took a look and said you are good, so no problem. He went over the N400 just confirming my information until we got into travel history and I mentioned that I have taken 6 trips after submitting my application and handed the details of them, then he said have all of them and added them to my form. I was asked for the selective service letter and he made a copy of it. The IO asked 4 or 5 questions of those YES or NO and then said let's start the test (6 answered correctly), read this (OK) and write (We have one hundred senators.), then he said you passed the test. After, he asked me Do you support ... YES... and Are you willing? ... YES. Finally, he said to take a look at the tablet and confirm the information that would appear on my certificate and sign it along with the other changes, so I did it, then Congratulation here you have the oath ceremony letter.

If some of you want to ask something about my process, I will be more than happy to help as others did for me in the past.

N400
Hello Everyone,
I have some concerns about my N400 case.
Applied: January 21st, 2018
Biometric done: February 14th, 2018
The interview was scheduled for June of 2018 but got canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
On February 2019, I called USCIS and requested farther information about my case and a week later, they responded back by saying that they were going to Re-scheduled it soon and no farther action was required from me but they never rescheduled ever since then. Hence, I decided again to request another inquiry after waiting for 4 months and this time, they responded by saying:
"According to our records, we are unable to move forward with your application until the required background checks have been completed. At this time, we are unable to determine when the adjudication of your case will be completed and no farther action is required from you. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by delays in processing"

I am very confused at this point because I already passed the background check since April 2018 and I don't really know what happened right now. It's been almost 1 year/half and I have not yet got an interview. Does this mean, they will deny my application? Do some of you encounter something like this? FYI: I have an attorney but he is the worse, he is not helpful at all. He only cares about money, nothing else. I am so discouraged right now. Thank you very much to you all.
