Hi All,

I will have the interview in December 2018, but I am just confused about my first divorce degree (I divorced before I applied my GC 12 years ago, and my GC was marriage base (to my current husband). Do I have to bring it in since it has been a long time and I couldn't find it anywhere?

Would anybody know about it?

Hi, I had my interview today at the federal plaza after 1 year and 2 months of wait. I passed the test but received decision can not be made at this time. I heard from others that they will still take your passport and green card although you got decision can not be made at this time. However, the officer returned both the passport and green card back to me. I'm worried if that means I will not be approved.

There were changes to my application as my job has changed since. Also, I was asked one question regarding if I was ever placed in deportation proceedings - my answer was no. However, the officer said it should have been yes because before I was granted asylum, I was technically considered to be in the deportation proceeding. I didn't know and never thought I was in deportation proceeding while going through the asylum. So the officer said he will change my answer to yes on the application and would have to run another background check. Was anyone in similar situation/experience?

Hello everyone. First I would like to thank everyone who wrote their experience here in this forum it was very helpful. I am a GC holder since 2015 I applied on a 3yr base marriage. As you see I started this process in march, I was very anxious because I thought it was taking so long but I think this is the average time frame. I got to the interview on Nov 1st at 7:30am the interview was schedule for 7:55am. They called me in at 8:45, the whole interview last 15 min. The officer was serious at the beginning but then he became very friendly he was very nice making me feel very comfortable. At first he made me raise my hand and swear etc.. Then he started the civic questions:
Who was the father of our country?
What state border Mexico?
Name 3 original colonies
What do we call the first ten amendments?
What is the political party of the president now?
What are the two parts of the U.S. congress?
Then he asked me to read: California is one of the biggest states of the U.S.
Then he asked me to write: California is on the southwest .
Then he asked me the N400 questions and asked me for proof of payment on child support as I have a daughter from previous marriage, I had a notarized letter from her mom saying that I pay $X weekly and that is very important to have if you pay child support. He didn't asked me for any original documents as I did send the application online. I know that we get very nervous at the interview but there's no reason. I hope this could help someone who is still in this journey . Good luck to anyone still waiting

11/16/17-we are scheduling your form N-400 for an interview.
TRIP : (2ND) Trip travelled to my country yet I was on asylum but it was an emergeny trip that lasted 2 months from dec/2017 to feb 2018. In life we cannot eliminate problems and the IO understand but make sure you have a genuine reason for traveling to your country when on asylum.
10/1/18 received a phone text saying "your case YYYY is now updated and also the same email came at the same time. Logged in into my online account and it said on 10/1/18 we scheduled your interview for your form N 400. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.
Received mail for interview on 10/4/18 with details and what to bring.
Interview date 11/6/18 time 7:55 am. Arrived at 6 am since I was worried about traffic in my area. I waited in the car until 6:45 am since I saw many people going and I was worried that I might get late. Checked in 7am and was given a number. I was told to go on 2nd floor to wait till my number is called. At 7:10 am IO came and called my number and said something was wrong. She requested for my GC and Interview letter. I gave them to her and she clarified while I was there and she said that it was the time I was checked in which was too early and she took the interview letter with her and requested me to wait. I waited until 7: 30 am and she called me to go for the interview. She requested me to raise right hand and swear that I will be saying the truth and I sat down.
She said she will begin with reading, writing and civic questions.

WRITING: Washington is the capital of the United States
CIVICS:
1. What does the President’s Cabinet do?
2. If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President?
3. Name one branch or part of the government?
4. How many U.S. Senators are there?
5. We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
6. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
 Then she started asking the N400 questions. yes and no... SHE SKIPPED ALOT SINCE AM SINGLE AND NEVER MARRIED AND NO CHILDREN SO IT TOOK HER A VERY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.
IO asked: my current job of which I am a nurse at a big hospital and she said she knows it, how many siblings
NOTE: Only change was the trip I made to my country yet on Asylum and it took 2 months. She asked me why and I informed her and she said that is okay. Sign the form and she said that There is an oath ceremony at 12:30 pm , would you like to attend and I said " of course yes" She laughed and she said congrats. By 7: 50 am I was done. She asked me if any friends or family member will be attending the ceremony and she was asking if someone will be taking my pictures and I told her no one is coming. I told her that I will request someone from the ceremony and she said that was fine. She was a very good person and while asking questions, we were talking about life and other things. Be simple and do not over stress yourself they are human being like us.
Could not wait in the car till 12: 30 pm so decided to go home and came back at 11:45 am.
Completed my oath ceremony so well and I thank God for that.
My advise is pray and always ask God to give yoy a good IO so that everything is smooth with no stress.
NOTE: TOOK ALL TAXES, PAY STUBS, DRIVING RECORD ( NO TICKET SINCE 12/2012 -VERY CLEAN DRIVING RECORD), SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS AND ETC...NONE WAS ASKED BY THE IO. I TOLD HER I PRINTED OUT ALOT OF THINGS AND SHE SAID I HAD NO ACCIDENT OR CRIMINAL RECORD.

Exactly 2 months today that I did my interview on 09/06, decision can not be made because of a name change, so far no Oath letter. Anyone from Las Vegas on the same situation?

I am a permanent resident and a Green Card holder since 1997. During this period, my stays in the United States were shorter as I was traveling a lot. However, in the last 5 years, I have stayed in the United States much longer. Following is the summary of the dates of my stay in the United States.

Can you please advise when can I apply for N-400. I am planning to make a short trip to abroad from 11/11/2018 - 12/16/2018 but this will push the application further behind. I would like to take your opinion and suggestion on when can I apply for N-400. Will I lose 2014 days.

Receive you oath ceremony within 2 weeks . But my status still saying that my interview was scheduled.
Do you know how long it will take to get oath scheduled?
