March 2017 Dallas,TX filer - Interview done today
hi All,
I would like put my Naturalization interview exp here.
Applied on March 10th,2017
Bio metrics - April 12th,2017.
June 11th,2018 - Got interview notice for July 3rd,2018 - Had India trip, requested to change of interview date.
Date changed mine to Aug 16th, which is today, my spouse stayed more time in India, so she got second bio metrics again.
My experience today was very nice. Took total of 50 minutes including waiting, inside room with Immigration officer was around 15 min - she tested English read and write test - Mexico is south of United States then asked 5-6 q's
1) who is part of Goverment
2) what does President cabinet do?
3) if president and vice present not available then who can become president
4) how many years we select US senator
5) What does declaration Independence commit did?
I think she asked only 5, if anything wrong, she might have asked 1 or 2 more i heard, but she stopped there and told me " you passed test"
After that regular q's about job, india travel, any crime related activities involved, read bunch y/n q's and gave a paper with "Congratulations, recommended for Approval of Citizenship" , she said may take 2 to 4 weeks , i should here stay put, also said congrats for your wife interview. Immigration officers were very cool. Hope this info helps i guys, i got lot of info from this forum, ask questions..

Oath ceremony....any experience of the sort?
So I had my interview earlier today and the interviewer was very tough and no smiley. Had 3 arrests on my record but no conviction as they were all dismissed. All three arrests arose from the "same baby mama" at different times one of which occurred after I had already send my N400. I was was recommended for approval and oath ceremony scheduled for Friday coming, literally 2 days after my interview. But here is the weird thing. After the tough interview with the IO, his final words were " I'm gonna go ahead and recommend you for approval, is your phone number 123-456-7890? If anything comes back as derogatory against you, I gonna rescind your approval and I would call you on your cell phone. Make sure you watch out for blocked or strange numbers and listen to your voicemail ". My question is , is this normal, has anyone faced a similar situation, what are your thoughts?

DOB error on passport
My PD date is 6/19/17
Case in line for interview 7/17/17.
Field Office: Houston

Based on experiences of others our turn is around the corner. As we started to gather documents in anticipation, we noticed there is a DOB error of 1 day in my wife's latest passport that was issued 2 years ago. She has traveled twice on it without issues. Should we get the information corrected and get a new passport or will it be an issue at the interview when it comes?

Thanks in advance.

This is my updated post from (7/2/18). I went all the way to the ceremony date because I noticed most people stop their post with the interview date. I appreciate everyone who posted their experience before me, because it made me realize that I was not being singled out for a reason, but I was still anxious to know when I was going to receive the Oath Notice by mail and have my Ceremony. I’m not the kind of person who blogs, but this forum indeed eased my mind; therefore, I’m putting my grain of sand (cooperation) for future generations of “New Citizens”. I wish you all good luck.

April 12, 2017 PD (they received my application case)
April 18, 2017 I got a receipt of my application by mail
April 18, 2017 They scheduled my biometrics appointment
May 2, 2017 biometrics taken
May 8, 2017 “My Case” online said “We are scheduling your interview”
June 28, 2018 I received a phone message saying “Your case NBC*xxxxxxxx is now updated”. I went online to check “my case”, it changed to “Case Is In Line For An Interview” but it didn’t have the date for interview.
July 2, 2018 I received the Interview Notice by mail
August 2, 2018 Interview date (passed).
August 9, 2018 cell text message received saying Your case NBC*etc… is now updated. Check “My Case status” at www.uscis.gov

“My Case status” said “We scheduled your oath ceremony for Receipt # NBC*etc… We sent a notice with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony to the address you gave us. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by September 8, 2018, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.”

I read in another post that if you change your address and go to this website, they do not really see it, that you also have to get a ticket to visit a location of USCIS to make sure they do change it.

August 13, 2018 I received my oath ceremony notice by mail
August 29, 2018 I will have my ceremony
