Interview (5/11/2017) at Des Moines
I have been reading this forum for sometime now prepping for the interview. My wife and I sent in the application together in the same packet and so, had the biometrics and interview at the same time which worked out very well. All the status updates happened at the same time for both of us.

Interview went well and was pretty straight forward. It was for about 15mins. Went over the application form. They didnt ask everything question in Part 12 for both of us. It was then english reading and writing, and the 6 civics questions. They said that our application is recommended for approval and will hear soon on Oath Ceremony. The officers were very friendly and casual. I had only taken 1040 and marriage certificate in addition to mandatory ones like GC, driver's license and passports. They didnt ask for passport or 1040 either. They just wanted Driver's license and Greencard.

Timeline:
10/25/2016 - Biometrics
5/11/2017 - Interview

N-400 Dallas field office
Hello everyone,

Dallas field office
11/14/2016 case received
12/13/2016 Fingerprint

Nothing since then which is almost 6 months now, the status on the website has not even changed and still says that "we scheduled you for a fingerprint appointment and mailed....."

Anyone having the same experience, maybe anyone from Dallas field office knowing more about what I need to do, I am getting very impatient.

Thank you

Received an update, still waiting...
The status on my account has been updated, but I'm unsure
of what it means time wise.
" We are scheduling your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , for an interview."
is the update I received on 5/7/17 but it is dated 2/2/17. I am wondering for those of you
who received that update, how long it took to get your appointment?
Also, once they send the appointment, will that be updated online?

Interview update LA downtown center_05/10/2017
05/16/2016 case received
05/10/2017 interview day

"A decision cannot yet be made about your application"

Probably caused by my trip outside the states during the past five years:
before 05/16/2016, 7 times, 233 days and after 05/16/2016, 3 times 240 days!!!
Just went to China, stayed with family and had disease treatment over there.

Office said that she will send me a file to reply.

Should I go to interview in person again? or just explain it by paperwork?

Is that going to be a big problem for me?

So disappointed at it.

Should I hire a lawyer to write a good explanation on it?

Every suggestion will be appreciated.

Interview and oath
I want to share my experience, i am very happy that is finally over. My case it's a little bit different than most of you I apply for citizenship based on being marry to a us armed forces member who is station abroad for more than a year I didn't have to wait for 3 years like most you.... I became a permanent resident on January 10, 2017 and today I had my interview and oath on a military base. I am so happy I didn't have to wait long because I know how it feels to wait it's so much stress. I wish every a great experience!
