InfoPass; Apr 4, the rep told me my case is looking good so far, Background check has been clear. He told me that my case now is still in the National Center sitting in a cube. Does that mean my interview will be scheduled pretty soon? Anyone also has the same experience, please share.
I have used this website extensively in the past few years and I really appreciate all the help and support that I have received. To all you members - thank you all.
Here is my journey:
USCIS received case - Oct 4th 2016
Biometrics appointment - Nov 3rd 2016
In line for interview notification - Nov 7th 2016
But there has been no status change since then. I have called the call center and they say that they are working on cases 04/28/2016. This makes me think whether my interview is a year away! I was hoping that my interview will be sometime in this month.
Has processing times changed so drastically in Atlanta? Is there anyone who has the same timelines as I have? Do you think filing an INFOPASS will help in any way? I have a clean tax history, no crime records, no speeding tickets etc.
Would be really grateful to receive some updates from people in the same situation.
Hi guys, I just had my interview this afternoon. I planned to post after receiving the oath notice, but in case I will forget all the details, so here it is.
Interview time at 1:30pm. Came at 12:30 to avoid traffic or parking issues in this busy crazy downtown LA.
Got in line at front entrance to federal building, went through security check, got in waiting room.
Waited like 80 minutes to be called.
Got inside interview room, did the oath, handed my green card and driver's license.
Went through 6 civics questions smoothly: governor's name, 2 national holidays, 1st president, civil rights movement, one thing to do when become citizen, where the statue of liberty.
Reading: "who lives in the White House?"
Writing: "The President lives in the White House."
Didn't need to hand in any supporting document.
Just some questions about name, spouse, kids, parents, school, job...
Asked if I planned to live in the US.
Went over all detail on N-400 because there were several errors on it that needed to be corrected.
It took a while, and the interviewer had to wipe his sweat right after the system approved the case.
He said that's the problem with the new system. He was too old to catch up with it. Back in the time, usually after 15 minutes, we could have it done, go outside, and be drinking coffee. Lol.
Then I signed to change my name, signed the oath, and a couple more spots.
The interviewer shaked my hand and said congrats, explained what to bring/do at Oath ceremony.
That's my experience. Hope it helps some of you.
And good luck, guys!

I had a traffic ticket a day after my interview.
I went for a hearing and was offered a 1 year probation.
So that the ticket will not go on my record.
5 months after the interview i am scheduled to take
An oath ceremony this friday. I have paid the fine
I have the receipt. I also have a paper that says "the state agrees to suspend
Prosecution of this case until 11/01/2017"
What should i do?
If the process goes by very quickly (4 months until scheduled for an interview) does it mean everything is good and there is no problem? I noticed many people wait longer than 7 months and many receive decision cannot be made due to the new program.
Hello everyone. First of all, I want to let you know that I have become an avid reader of this site since I sent my application for Naturalization last November 2016. Below is my timeline:
11/15/2016 - application sent via certified mail to Phoenix, AZ
11/17/2016 - USCIS received my application, my credit card was charged on 11/21/16
11/28/2016 - scheduled for fingerprinting
12/14/2016 - fingerprinting completed
12/15/2016 - in line for interview
03/27/2017 - we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*00xxxxxxx. We will mail you an interview notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice.
I am waiting for the interview letter to come in the mail. Is there a way I can check a copy of that letter online? I tried registering online but it asks for case that starts with an IOE. I am feeling anxious everyday when I check for the mails and nothing from USCIS.
Hi guys,
My sister will have her interview april 10th and it may take a while to be scheduled for oath. So we were wondering if it is to travel before oath? She wasnt planning to travel but she really have to. Is it gonna complicate her process at the oath ceremony day when she is asked if she left the country since interview.
Do thry give u hard time for leaving the country and hold ur naturalization certificate until they do some more clearances?
Thanks
