So close to the end -

* Application, early July 2016.
* Bio-metrics, Aug 2, 2016.
* Long wait while the online status always said bio-metrics scheduled for you
* End of December (after Christmas), received a text message informing me of change of status - interview is scheduled.
* First week of Jan 2017 received the interview notice in the mail, scheduled for Feb 13, 2017
* Interview Feb 13. Went through the application and did the read/write and history test. Same as others have described. Study the 100 question and you will be fine. I brought all the originals of my application materials but the interviewer didn't need to look through them. She said my case was quite straightforward and clear.

The officer thought there's a chance for us to take the oath same day (which was the norm before the whole system issue thing). All who passed the interview were asked to wait but about 2 hours later we were informed that there's a system issue that they were hoping to fix but was not able to, so they sent everyone home and told us they will schedule the oath for us.

A little disappointed that we won't be able to do it today and of course for the building up of expectations for 2 hours and the let down afterwards, but the staffs are very nice and apologetic. I was impressed with the their attitude and the willingness to help us and answer questions. Totally changed my previous view of the government employees. It's really a good office.

Good luck to all who are still waiting! It seems that you might have better luck to expedite the oath as the system issue is getting fixed... Those of us who were interviewed today were so close to getting the oath same day!

N-400 and Absence from USA
I have my n-400 application pending since October 2016 and status still showing finger printing notice sent. Due to new administration and extreme vetting measures etc etc I am concerned about my application and have very important question.
I got my green-card thru employment in 2009 and in 2011 moved to overseas for Job. I was visiting US every 6 months for few days to meet my residency obligation and filling my taxes etc.
I permanently moved back to US in 2014 and filled my application in October 2016 (90 days before completing 30 months)
During my 3.5 years absences I had one trip longer than 6 months and I was out for 8 months (less than year).
I am wondering how it will impact my application and Interview? Please let me know if I can get in trouble because of one absence for more than 6 months and several overseas trips.
Thanks in Advance for your advise and expert opinion.

Application rejected due to an incorrect payment
All,

I sent the application packet with incorrect fee. The $ amount was wrong in the G-1450 form.
I just recieved a letter to resubmit with the correct fee. ($725, including biometric fee).

Now should I apply ASAP, since I got an applicaiton number assigned by USICIS or should I wait till I come back from a short (2 week) trip to India. I will be gone from Feb 26-March 10th. What if the biometric appointment date turns out to be when I am in INDIA.
Should I request in the cover lettter that I need the biometrics done before Feb 25th or after March 10th, and apply ASAP?
Please feel free to comment and give me suggestions.

Newark, NJ Oath Ceremony
6/25/16 Sent in application

7/01/16 USCIS acceptance confirmation

7/22/16 Fingerprint appointment

12/11/16 Online updated case to interview scheduled

12/16/16 Schedule notice arrived

1/31/17 Interview

Interview went well. Officer told me I passed and handed me a paper saying so. They were having system problems that day and seemed that most people could not take the oath that day. Before the interview, as I waited I could already tell that people were a little agitated about that.

2 days later my online case had updated saying that I should receive letter with the appointment date for the oath ceremony.

My concern is that someone I know had done the interview 2 months before me and he's still waiting for the oath appointment notice.

Has anyone had a similar case?
I'm preparing to move out of state in a month and I can't do it without having at least the date. I don't know what to do...

N400 Application with an expiring green card
NBC case, living in Notre Dame, Indiana, but the field office is Chicago

12/19/16 Application sent out

01/07/2017 Fingerprint Notice

01/27/2017 Fingerprint done
Currently nothing is updated on the status website.

My green card is going to expire in August 2017, but it seems like that most of the naturalization processes take longer than 6 -9 months. Should I renew my green card? I mean I applied for the naturalization already, what will happen if my green card expires in August but my case is still pending? Has anyone ever had a similar situation like this?

Thanks!
