Why N-400 takes too long?
Filing N-400 and do BIO, with all the sending/receiving letter and paperwork usually takes just 2 or 3 weeks. (including background check)
Anyone know why the scheduling an appointment is taking too long?

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/article/chapter3.pdf
here on Question 13 USCIS says:
Become naturalized takes to an average of 6 months after the Form N-400 is filed.

They just keep the case for 6 months and then give interview appointment? Or there is a processes and with providing more information or makes them more clear we can help to speed up the process?

N400 application
I need an advise, because I'm very concerned about my application. I'm applying for naturalization form N 400, I already had my interview and the officer or agent said that she can't make the decision at the moment. I was arrested 7 years ago for infringed a restraining order, but the case was nolle pro and was expunged. The officer asked me few questions about that and I told her what happened. At this point I don't know what's gonna happen, my interview was on February 2th, is already a month waiting for an answer and my green card will be expired next month. I have been living is this country for 15 years. That was in Oakland Park Florida. Please I'm open for any advise. Thanks

Elise system is unavailable
I tried signing in and it said Elise system is going through outage.
Has anyone experienced that?
Does that mean there will be more delay or update of processing time?

Good luck to all of us!

Los Angeles/NBC
Submitted application online on 2/9/2017
Receipt notice date 2/9/2017 from the National Benefits Center
Biometrics appointment letter 2/12/2017
Biometrics appointment date 2/27/2017

Online case status now shows "USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice." as of 2/27/2017

Anyone have any experience of how long it takes to receive the interview appointment letter once the status is changed like this (I was surprised to see it change so quickly after I had been to the biometrics appointment)?

I'm trying to understand if they send the appointment letter reasonably quickly or whether it will now take the 5-6 months it seems to be taking for the NBC/local USCIS office to adjudicate the applications.

Just sharing my timelines...

Applied July 28th, 2016.
Biometric appointment Aug 22, 2016.

Never heard anything since.

Status jus shows Biometry was scheduled. Its been more than seven months.

Have been holding traveling to home country in anticipation of interview.

I keep checking the processing dates( it says as of Dec 2016) but they keep changing ....sometimes in the wrong direction, making them unreliable.

Is there a point in calling them.....will they just direct us to the processing dates site?

Good luck to all
