Dallas experience
Hello,

I wanted to share my situation with all to see if anyone has any further insight.
I live in Fort Worth, Texas
I had applied in 7/2016.
Completed Biometrics in the same month.
Since July, I am waiting for the Interview and it has been 6 months, am getting really frustrated and impatient as to how long the process will take for me to get case upgraded to the next level.
We called the USCIS office today and were told that cases of May 20th are presently being processed.
They could not tell me how long it will take for them to reach July cases.
Does anyone have an idea of the processing time in my case given this information?
Has anyone else received a letter for Interview from the Dallas Field Office ?
Any help will be appreciated.Thanks!

Application Sent in May 2016
I have sent my application on May 25th, until now I have gotten nothing nor any updates. The website keeps the biometrics appointment. I have contacted an L2 Officer 3 times and today they told me that they are still waiting for my background check to pass. I don't have tickets or bad record. Any idea on why this is taking for ever? its almost 9 months of wait.
Any advice?
thanks

N-400 Application packet
Hello fello applicants. I mailled the N-400 application packet from Houston, TX for me and my wife on 01/11/07 and the USPS express mail shows the confirmation that it went to USCIS, P.O. Box 660867,Dallas, TX 75266 on 01/14/2017.

I haven't receive any confirmation notice from USCIS and also didnt' see my credit card charged for it. When I called USICS one rep. told me to wait for 10 working days and nothing happned and when I called again then another rep. told to wait for 30 days to hear back from USCIS.

I am wondering whether I sent the packet to the right address or is it usual to hear back from USCIS after 30 days?
Also, I am planning to travel to INDIA for 10 days to visit my parents by the end of February. Hope this will not affect the my N-400 processing?

Please share your experience and thoughts.

Thanks guys and good luck to all applicants.

Bad News For Some
Indeed this is a sad day for all humans

At the Citizenship and Immigration Service, staff members were told that the agency should stop work on any application filed by a person from any of the countries listed in the ban. Employees were told that applicants should be interviewed, but that their cases for citizenship, green cards or other immigration documents should be put on pause, pending further guidance.

Is registering for vote mandatory? Can I wait until next general election(4 years)?
I was busy on oath day, there was some one to register for vote, but I couldn't do that day? I know there are other options like by mail, or at DMV. But was wondering if I don't register, what happens?

Thank you.

Hi. Is there is someone in Connecticut that can share a very latest experience with the interview process in Connecticut ??? ( Naturalization/ Citizenship)
I had my fingerprints taken in December. I wonder if I should expect the interview for March or April.
Thank you in advance for the answer.

In line for Oath Taking (NYC)
This is my timeline (IOE) - Naturalization through spouse

06/12/16: Sent application via FedEx
06/14: Receipt Notice
07/12: Biometrics appointment
12/18: Interview scheduled
01/25: Interview (Recommended for approval; In line to be scheduled for oath taking)

It took a while to get scheduled for an interview. I've reached out to an agent via email on the new USCIS myaccount and was told that because a lot of people applied and they are backed up.

Interview day: I spent time with the IO for a bit, he was thorough but NICE. I took an oath to tell the truth. Then, he asked for my passport, gov't ID, SSN card & green card. He asked me few questions about Part 12 of the N400. Also, since we owe the IRS (my part time gave me a 1099, hence), I have to provide proof of monthly payment and the letter from the IRS - I also provided the tax transcripts for the last 3 years. Then civics exam (6 Qs), written exam (1 sentence) & reading (1 sentence). Then he handed me a N-652 form that a box checked off "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval..."

I just checked my case status online and it says that "USCIS has scheduled your oath ceremony and will mail you the appointment notice". The IO told me if I don't receive it in 60 days that I should contact USCIS.

Good luck to everyone!
