N400
Hello guys,

Just need your input/advice concerning my case. I applied for naturalization in 2018 and I haven't got my interview yet. Believe it or not, I swear this is true, I don't know if anyone has a similar experience or not.... I have done everything including writing to my congressman but no action has been taken in regard to my case. I am so tired of waiting now.... Thank you!

N400 Delayed - What can be done?
Hi there,

The 22 of this month will be 120 days after UCSIC received my RFE documents here at the office in downtown LA, but I have heard nothing yet. Is there anything that I can do once the case is out of normal processing time?

Also, on my online account it shows an Estimated time* until case decision:
approx. 4 months. Is this normal? It has already taken an eternity. What is happening?

Thanks!

Combo I751/N400 - I751 just got approved. Do I have to take my spouse with me to the N400 interview?
My I751 just got approved. N400 is still pending; I haven't gotten an interview notice yet, but I might get one in a month based on others' timelines. I'm wondering if I still have to take my spouse to the N400 interview? I know it sounds silly, but I haven't heard any case that file N400 based on 3 years rule that got I751 approved before the interview. I hope anyone with more information can help!

Help
Hi everyone,
I went to My Interview yesterday and I was disappointed.. I passed my civic and English test and I was eligible based on military service… and everything goes well until the IO start asking me about my marriage (I didn’t do good interview) and then she shows me up if my information is correct and I signed 2 forms and IO gave me a paper that says A DECISION CAN NOT BE MADE YET ABOUT YOUR APPLICATION… and when I wake up I got an email from USCIS that says WE HAVE TAKEN AN ACTION ON YOUR CASE but When I check my account nothing happened…. Plz I am stressed out does anyone experiencing this kind of thing and does my marriage situation affects my naturalization?
* Got my green card based on marriage

US Citizenship interview experience at Newark NJ
I had my citizenship interview in Newark NJ. Here is my experience
Interview time: 11 AM
Reached: 10.35 AM
Officer took my interview letter and asked me to wait in the sitting area.
My name was called around 11.45 for the interview
I was asked to take oath right after I entered the room
The interviewer started the interview by taking my driving license, all of my passports, and my green card
Next was civic and English test
Questions -
1) What does the Constitution do?
2) We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years?
3) What is the capital of your state?
4) The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers
5) What major event happened on September 11, 2001, in the United States?
6) What ocean is on the East Coast of the United States?

English reading - How many senators do we have
English writing: We have 100 senators.

After that few questions from my N-400 form

Full name and address and if you want to change your name?
Do you have any trip outside of the US which is longer than 6 months?
Where do you work?
Are you married, single, or divorced?
How many children do you have?
Bunch of questions which has NO answer
Bunch of questions which has YES answer

Then he asked me to sign on a couple of places and provided me with a form that indicates that I have passed the interview.
This entire process hardly took 10 minutes.

I waited again for about 2 hours and then called for the Oath ceremony where they handed me the naturalization certificate.
One thing that puzzled me that why they used my green card photo for my naturalization certificate which is 6 years old ( not that I changed ..LOL)

Hope it helps.

Statement from USCIS Acting Director Tracy Renaud in Honor of Immigrant Heritage Month
Release Date
06/16/2021
“June marks the seventh annual celebration of Immigrant Heritage Month, which honors the individual and collective contributions made by immigrants in communities across the United States.

In keeping with President Biden’s Executive Order 14012, Restoring Faith in Our Legal Immigration Systems and Strengthening Integration and Inclusion Efforts for New Americans, we are working to rebuild confidence in our lawful immigration system and promote the benefits and privileges of citizenship to those who may be eligible.

At USCIS, our mission is to administer our nation’s legal immigration system fairly, humanely and in a way that honors what the American dream represents to people all over the world. We believe there is no better way to continue our nation’s long, proud tradition of welcoming immigrants than by providing equitable access to benefits through timely, efficient and fair adjudications.

Over the last decade, USCIS naturalized an average of 730,000 citizens and welcomed an average of 1,029,800 new immigrants yearly. On an average day, we naturalize 2,000 new citizens and grant permanent residence to more than 2,500 people. And despite our nation’s continued fight against COVID-19, USCIS has continued to carry out these important functions. In the case of naturalization, we have successfully returned to pre-pandemic levels and reduced our backlogs by 100,000 since January 2021.

This June, USCIS will continue to highlight the benefits and services available to noncitizens, providing them with the tools they need to be successful throughout their journey to become new U.S. citizens and beyond.

Diversity is part of what makes America strong and what makes USCIS so important. The work we do each day has a direct impact on individuals and families who hope to call America home. Celebrating Immigrant Heritage Month is a celebration of America since we are, after all, a nation of immigrants.”
