Interview - May 18th 2021 (9:30 AM) Newark, NJ
I arrived there at 8:20 am, parked my car on the closed paid parking lot, which is right beside the Immigration Building and has a huuuge yellow Banner saying "IMMIGRATION PARKING". I Started reviewing civics and N-400 application since i had almost one hour extra. At 9:11am i walked to the visitors entrance of the building, security guard was standing by the door, he was very polite, asked how he could help, i gave him the interview notice and he let me in. There was no line BTW. I walked in the building and went through security check point, they told me to take elevator to the 15th floor. When i got off the elevator another security guy checked my interview notice and told me to go to the window. The lady behind the window took my notice, checked my ID and GC and told me to sit and wait until my name would be called out.
I got called in at 10:30am sharp, the officer was very very polite, he led me to his cabinet and asked to raise my right hand and i swore i would say truth and only truth. He asked for my GC, DL and Passport. While doing something in his computer he randomly asked " Name one of the US territories " , I'm like aw ok we started civics, it's Puerto Rico.
Q2: Who vetoes Bills? --> President
Q3: Who is the governor of your state? --> Phill Murphy
Q4: Whats the name of Vice President? --> Kamala Harris
Q5: Whats the two major political parties in the US --> Democratic and Republician
Q6: Why did the colonists fight British? --> Because of high taxes
After that he asked me to read a sentence on the planchet, which was : "Where is the White House?"
After that he asked me to write on planchet: "The White House is in Washington D.C."
After that a minute of silence, he was doing something in the computer. Suddenly he asked "your last trip to Europe was in 2018?" i said yes Sir, "Are your parents citizens?" i said No Sir, none of them.
After that he asked 6 NO question and all YES questions, asked me to sign couple of things on the planchet, than he asked to sign the paper that he handed to me and he said "Congratulations! i approved your case" and handed me the approval letter. I was soooo happy so excited i don't remember how many times i thanked him, he told me to go back to hall and wait for Oath Ceremony. The interview lasted exactly 5-7 minutes, he never asked for any documents (but i still had all the documents, bills and literally everything for the last 4 years). When i was about to walk out he asked " Why do u need such a heavy bag?" i'm like aw the interview isn't over and i answered that i brought every single documents, kids birth certificate, marriage certificate and started to name all the documents that i had in my bag and he's like "NAAAAH, you don't need those, please go back to Hall and wait for ceremony".
I went back to hall, waited for another 1 hour and at 11:30am my officer came out and he led about 20-25 approved ppl to another room, we had 15 minutes oath ceremony, he handed us our naturalizations, asked to make sure all info is correct and DONE!!
Thank you America, thank you God, thank you Universe and thank you everyone for this happy day!
