Extending ticket with Delta
Hi,
I'm looking for some advice on the following situation. My Mom is here on a visit from India. She was allowed a 6-month stay at the port of entry, but the ticket from Delta is only for 4 months.

I tried calling Delta airlines and also my travel agent in India, about extending the ticket by paying an additional amount as penalty. They're telling me that I need to do a new booking (brand-new ticket) plus they will not refund a one-way fare on the existing one.

I didn't think it was such a big deal to extend your ticket...What have other people's experiences been? I'd love to hear them.

Thanks!!

travel agent report
I have a complaint on Caraven Travel Services(C.T.S)
                     12000,Richmond Ave #SUITE 106
                      HOUSTON,TX

I made a payment for my ticket to C.T.S travel agency
at their office location on July 17 2004 for the
travel
dates of AUG-18 2004to NOV-4 2004 from Houston to
Mumbai.I paid
the amount of $1265 with check. The travel services
gave me an itenary and receipt, and I was told that
the ticket will be received by mail.I called the
travel services two weeks prior to my travel date, but
there was no answer.I went to the office couple of
times, but it is closed. Finally, I called the KLM airlines
on Aug 13th 2004(5days before my travel date) and I
came to
know that the travel agency cancelled my ticket on
July 30th 2004 the same date they cashed my check. Now
I
don't know whether I will receive my money back or
not. I want the whole world to know about this travel
agency, so that no one will ever buy a ticket from
this travel agency, and so that no one will suffer the
mental tension like I did.The agent name is Masud
Hassan.

Beware of M&K Travel Services in the Bay Area
Do not go there! If you pay them with cash or personal check, don't hope that you will get a ticket or your money back. Try them and you will regret for sure.

Stopover in Amsterdam
Hello travelers to India via KLM,

I just want to share my experiences about visiting Amsterdam to or from India. I was impressed with the city and what it has to offer. Although the time between flights were limited, I used the company Holland Stopovers who are professionals. They pick you from airport and bring you back in time for your connecting flight. As I understand, one of their staff is an Indian and can easily understand the needs of people coming from India.
I saw a lot of nice things in a short time and was able to get a good idea for future travels.
If anyone wants more information about amsterdam please ask.

Gary

You are only one of hundreds.
Dear Radha,

My father passed away last year and I brought tickets from silver wings travel in Houston (their main office is in chicago, which is probably what you used). I made payment through the Chicago office.

They basically stole my money, so my mother, brother and myself could not perform memorial services in India. The sad part is that the people at the houston branch, as well as the owners Himanshu Parekh (apparently they are also involved with the Silver Place Jewlwes  on Devon Ave) and Neela Parekh knew the purpose of our visit, since I had told them.

I filed a civil suit against them in Houston and per court orders, they owe me $4000. Unfortunately, they evaded the court order and fled the state of Texas. The Sheriff and I spoke to their landlord when we went to seize their property. The landlord says that they vacated their offices without paying several months rent. There are also hundreds of other people in the Houston area (many who bought the tickets directly from the Chicago office) who are trying to hunt these people down and get their money back. I hope this answers your question.
