H1-B approved in Toronto Dec 17 2018
Sorry for delayed post! Just got back home after stamping+vacation in Canada.
We'd interview scheduled in Toronto on Dec 17 2018 @8:30. My wife (EVC model) and myself (FTE) both have H1-B from different petitioners and attended interview together.

Visa officer asked same questions to both of us (first he asked me then to my wife at the same time)
1) What do you do?
2) How long have you been working with your petitioner?
3) What is your salary?
4) Did your petitioner filed immigrant petition for you? What is the status?

And for couple of mins he was checking something on screen and then said your visa's are approved. From entry to exit it took about 30mins.

Received tracking around Wednesday noon and collected passport from Post office on Thursday. Good luck everyone!

H1-B approved in Ottawa on Dec 27
It’s my turn to contribute to the forum. My interview was re-scheduled from December 24 to Thursday, December 27 at 9:30 am because the embassy was declared closed on the 24th.

There was only one visa officer interviewing about 30 people. This is how my interview went:
1) Is this your first H1-B stamping?
2) Have you had other US visa?
3) What’s your highest level of education?
4) What’s your salary?
5) What’s your job role?
6) Looks like you’ve traveled a lot of the last 5 years. Everything on your application looks good. Your visa is approved. Your passport will be ready for pickup in 3-4 business days.

It has been just a few hours since I interviewed and I’ve already received tracking for my passport. Most likely it’ll be delivered tomorrow. Very fast and an incredible interview experience.

Cancel visa stamping in Mumbai and reapply in Canada
I came to Mumbai for my H1b stamping for the first time. I got 221g. I work for EVC model and I'm stuck here since a month. There has been no movement on my case and I don't know how long it will take.
My friend suggested me to cancel the whole visa stamping at Mumbai and reapply from Canada by filing a new DS160. Does anyone have any experience doing this ?

SEVIS record wrong. Can I still enter U.S.?
Hi everyone,

My SEVIS record was found wrong yesterday. I applied my H1-B through Consular Processing, but the SEVIS record shows completed on Change of Status. My school's DSO has submitted a data-fix today and given me a Certificate of Status, but he highly discourages me from traveling abroad because according to my SEVIS record, I'm no longer on F1 and cannot come back under F1. However I have booked my trip a long time ago and everything is not cancellable. Is it possible for me to still come back, even if they issue me an I-515?

Recommendation for US consulate in Canada
Hi,

I'm in the US on F-1 OPT, but I recently got approved for my H1B. I plan on going to Canada to get my visa stamped on my passport. Based on your experience and what you've heard, what consulate would you recommend I go to? I realize it depends on the waiting time and the dates available. I was thinking more along the lines of friendly consular staff with a straightforward interview process. Right now, I was thinking Vancouver might be a good idea. The wait time doesn't seem too long, and there's a lot of positive reviews on here about the consulate there.
Thank you!

Question regarding consular notification I-797B
I am applying for my first H1B visa from F1, living in US. I have a consular notification i-797b which mentions consulate notified as Chennai. Can I stamp at any consulate apart from Chennai? Has anyone in similar situation applied at a different consulate? I am planning to stamp in Vancouver.

Thanks
