Dropbox Timelines - Toronto Consulate
Hi everyone,
Canada PR living in US on H1b and qualify for dropbox. If anyone got their H1b approved using dropbox, does anyone know how long should i tentatively plan on staying in Toronto?

IWP/DROPBOX - Still in Refused Status
Oct 7 - Send thru Canada Post.
Oct 9 - Status is application Received.
Oct 13 - Status changed to Refused.
I am checking status everyday, there is no change in that. Meanwhile, I checked my emails for any communication for additional documents, there is no email update. Now it is almost 26 days. Is there a way to check or reach them for the status. Or is this a normal and do I need to wait for some more day.
Please Advise.

221g Ottawa sept 28 interview
I had a 221g( interview date 28th sept, Ottawa ) and recently got a mail to mail in my passport.
I did so with Canada post, it shows delivered on Oct 22nd Ottawa embassy.
My ceac tracking status still shows admin processing (changed from refused to admin processing on Oct 18, and Oct 19 I got the email to mail in the passport)
Just worried why it’s taking this long after I sent passport for visa to be issued.
How is everyone’s else’s timelines been after mailing in the passport ?

Does that mean I pick up from a courier location?

New H1B stamping - which cities has less wait time
Hello, I am currently in Canada. My H1B expired in October 2018. In 2021 October a company interviewed me willing to sponsor H1B. However they cannot wait for 4+ for the stamping to be done. I see there is 5+ month wait time in Canada currently. Are there any other places where I can get quick appointment like Mexico or any other recommendations?

H1B dropbox at Ottawa consulate
Sent my documents on the 13th oct, on 14th oct it showed some exception at Canada post tracking. Finally on 15th Oct it got updated to delivered at Canada post website.
Its been two weeks since the delivery but the Case status still shows "No status". Anyone in the same bucket? Getting worried as I have no clue if my original passport reached the consulate or not.
Note : I applied ds160 for Toronto consulate but Canada post shipped it to Ottawa consulate.

Calgary Visa Stamping October 2021
Filled my DS-160 in July 2021and got an appointment for Feb 2022 in Calgary for stamping. Kept checking every often and in August found a date for Oct 25th and immediately booked it and got my visa stamped.
Saturday 10/23 -- Flew in to Calgary on Visitor's Visa. They check that you are fully vaccinated and that you have a negative PCR test within 72 hours of flying. If you have both, no quarantine needed.
Monday, 10/25 - Appointment
Questions asked:
- Can you give me your passport and 797? (No other documents asked)
- Which company do you work for?
- What is your role?
- How long have you been on H1B?
- Has your company applied for your I-140?
Your visa is approved and you will get your passport back in a few days. I asked the officer if I can pickup the passport from the consulate; he said ok and he gave me a document to bring when I come for pickup.
Wednesday 10/27 - Got an email that your passport is ready to pickup. I picked it up and changed my flight to Thursday 10/28 morning.
Thursday 10/28 - Returned home

I got my H1b in 2019 and it was activated in Oct 2019. The appointment is regular (not EA)
I travelled from US to Toronto and interviewed on Oct 21. Questions asked:
- Where are you going?
- Company, salary
- Highest degree
Then she said it was approved. Only the passport was taken. Documents used:
- Passport
- I-797A
- DS 160 confirmation page
- photo
It's safer to bring as many documents as you can (I-129, LCA, paystubs, offer letter, EVL, etc.)
Timeline: Oct 21 (interview) --> Oct 22 (issued, tracking number received) --> Oct 25 (picked up my passport)

Contact US Colsulate in Toronto for visa status update?
Has anyone been able to contact someone in US Consulate at Toronto for visa status update.
My documents were recieved on Oct 6th, 2021.
Since then there has not been any update.
I have sent emails enquiring about it on Oct 15th and Oct 25th, no response to any of the emails.
I also left a message on their FB page, no response to that either.
The phone number given in their website does not provide any infromation regarding status.
I have tried everything possible to contact US Consulate in Toronto, but no respite.
I can't imagine something that took 2 days before pandemic to be taking months and US Consulate not having the resources to even reply to email.
Wondering if they have reduced their resource to 1% of what they used to have before pandemic.
