tourist visa denied
My husband applied for a B2 visa that we can visit my parents (i am American) in the summer. We live in Mexico and he had all of his paperwork (has worked for the Mexican govt for 10 years, has a car and motorcycle in his name, bank acct, a daughter from his ex wife that lives here in Mexico, etc). Here's how the interview went:
Worker: why do you want to visit the USA?
Husband: to see where my wife is from and visit my in-laws

Worker: do you work?
Husband: yes I work for the govt and have worked there for 10 years

Worker: your wife is American?
Husband: yes and my stepdaughter, my son has double nationality

Worker: how long have you been married?
Husband: we have been married for a month. We were going to get married last year but our son was born.

Worker: oh you just got married then?
Husband: yes

Worker: sorry you need to apply for the immigration visa
Husband: but I don't want to live there, our life is here.

Worker: no sorry

No papers were asked for.

We want to apply again because we already have the plane tickets and plans! He's only going for 9 days because that it was his job allows.

1-What are his chances of getting approved if he applies again in a month or so?

2-Should he say he wasn't able to show his ties to Mexico through his paperwork?

3-Does writing a cover letter really help his chances? Listing what paperwork he has.

Please help!

my B2 Visa Experience - Approved
Hi all ,

First of all , thanks to all who had contributed their positive and negative interview experiences in this forum . We had referred the forum immensely and had prepared our round of question and answers and did mock rounds in our room itself . We had only 50 - 50 hope since we were both working here and both our siblings were in the US for a long period . Gods grace , we were approved visa . Here is our experience

We : Good Morning , Madam
Interviewer : Very Good Morning . Please give me your passports

Interviewer : So why you travelling to the US ?
We : For a SHORT vacation to see our siblings and COME BACK .

Interviewer : Oh , so both of your siblings are in the US ?
We : Yes ( We thought we had lost it , but interview continued )

Interviewer : Explain your siblings profession
We : They are working as etc etc etc

Interviewer : What are you two working in ?
We : We are working as etc etc etc

Interviewer : How long would you be in US and where all will be going ?
We : We will be there for 2 weeks and etc etc .

Interviewer ( after typing for some time ) : ok , so your Visa is Approved . Enjoy your vacation .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had a bunch of documents with us , but she didn't ask for any . She hardly looked at our faces .
From my experience , i think what ever you answer , it should be convincing enought that you will certainly come back for eg : we used ONLY two WEEKS , SHORT VACATION etc . But its very subjective, it might or might not work . Solely depends on the interviewer .

Good luck for all who have their interviews upcoming . :)

Family visitor visa B2 approved
Hello,
Thanks to all the posts which has really helped me to prepare and approve my family of 4 members consisting of my husband,my 24 yr old working daughter ,my 20 yr old student son and myself to get the visitor visas approved.
I filled 4 separate DS 160 forms with separate confirmation codes generated for each and then created a profile on cgifederal.secure.force.com and added my family members with their individual confirmation codes. Then a unique visa fee payment account was generated which I used to pay the visa fees and after the confirmation of fee payment the Reciept was generated. This enabled me to schedule my appointments for VAC -Biometrics and Interview at the Consulate. We 4 together were given the same slot for both the biometrics as well as the interview.
Biometrics hardly took us 20-25 mins altogether right from entry to exit.
We had taken an appointment of afternoon 2.30 pm and was lucky to have no queue for entering the consulate at 1.40pm.After the security check we were instructed to be seated in a queue as per the interview time slots. At 2.10 we were instructed to enter the main embassy where again our passports with the VAC sticker was scanned and finger prints again verified. Then we were in a queue for the interview.VFS Global facilitation is very good at the embassy. We all 4 were assigned a single window booth and just 5-6 precise questions.
VO: Hello
Me: Hello,Good Afternoon

VO: Can I have your passports please
I slided all our 4 passports to her.

VO: So you guys have travelled abroad together earlier?
We: Yes

VO: What is your profession?
My Husband: Answered precisely

VO: What is your annual income?
My husband answered precisely again

VO: How many employees do you have?
I answered precisely

VO: What are your travel plans?
I told her with specific tentative dates though we hadn't book any tickets

VO: ( To my daughter) So are you guys studying?
My daughter replied that she is working and my brother is studying

VO: Okay, your visas are approved Enjoy trip to US

Not a single document asked though we had carried them along

Be Confident.Be Precise and Be Polite.Be Honest.Simple Psychology.

So Please do not hesitate Be well-dressed and Stand head high
Good Luck

B2
Hi,

I'm 27yrs Female.

I have my appointment next Thursday morning and need some help please. My brother works BP and lives at the residence as myself and will be sponsoring my trip. I applied before and was denied because i stated that i was sponsoring my trip. At that appointment I did not explained that i own my own company. Now I plan on letting them know about my small business and besides that I'm permanently employed and will like to travel for my vacation as a birthday trip in May and also to do some shopping for my clothing store.

I'll greatly appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you. :-)

toursit visa
I have US B1/B2 Visa. I will be going for conference this month in Florida and wish to with my family for tourism. We have two children 10 and 9 years. My wife and the children does not have any US Visa. My wife is not working (housewife) me and children vacation comes together in these month when I will be going conference. So we have to spend 3 weeks of it in the US. My employer will pay for our flight ticket including leave allowance. As am working General Manager in that Company.

Since I already have US visa, do I need to apply together with my wife and children again, how you rate their chances of getting a visa. Again I will appreciate any constructive criticism and suggestions that will increase our chances of getting a visa . Thank You.

Widow mother's visit visa
My brother in law (green card holder) sponsored my mother (widow) last year for visit visa which was rejected without giving any reason and by saying that apply next time. They asked very question from my mother as mentioned below:

Visa Office : Karachi, Pakistan
Language : Urdu
VO was GORA with beard and was very fluent in Urdu.

VO : Assalam Alaikum
My Mother : Walekum Salam
VO : Why do you want to go to USA
My Mother : I want to see my daughter there and spend some time there.
VO : Who is sponsoring you
My Mother : my son in law
VO : How may children you have
My Mother : 3 sons and 2 daughters (2 sons in Saudi Arabia and 1 son in Pakistan, 1 daughter in USA and 1 in Pakistan)
VO : How do you manage living expense here in Pakistan
My Mother : My sons remit me living expense
VO : How much
My Mother : Whatever I asked
VO : you have own house
My Mother : No, currently living on rent but our house is in under construction process.
VO : Sorry we cannot give you visa now, will give you next time please try again later.

I don't know what went wrong. Now again my brother in law is going to sponsor my mother this April so please guys advise us what went wrong in previous experience which should not be happen this time.

Thanks
