Appeared for interview with wife and kid. Officer asked general questions and asked details about company which I provided.
Then, he have to a slip to submit documents which I did after a few weeks.
Since then there is no update for 4.5 months. Have emailed all the 4 email addresses for us visa mentioned on this forum
Also, called NVC many times. But got same answer from all sides that it is under mandatory administrative processing.
Even attorney contacted senator but no reply
My visa validity expires in 12 days and still no answer. Even if I get to submit passport for stamping after 12 days, it will be of no use as visa validity would have expired.
Kindly suggest as it feels helpless.

Asked to wait, then 2nd VC called to another window asked details of employment and details at Client site, travel history etc. 1st VC returned passport, blue slip and said no further information required, blue slip says 221g administrative processing required. Any one else faced the same. Please share updates.

Here's the timeline of my case
8th August : Dropbox , passport returned with blue slip and called for interview
16th August : Interview , passport returned with orange 221G slip and documents like w2,paystubs were asked
91st day : emailed mumbaiconsdirect@xxxx , as well as My company sent a Congressional inquiry
92nd day : email to submit passport for final processing
30th Nov : received passport , Visa Issued !
All this time the ceac website showed "administrative processing" date never changed from date of interview.
The entire process took 101 days from date of 221G response, the whole journey has been filled with anxiety, restlessness and fear
Fortunately my company allowed me to work from India Development centre,
Company is the top chip manufacturer , employment is full time , total 7 years of work Ex , this was an H1B extension
That being said, this website helped me calm my anxiety and success stories continued to lift my spirits.

1st time visa application for F 1 Interview date: 8th November 2018 Interview went really well and the VO said that he is granting a visa to me and took the passport. the very next day i receive an email stating that i was found ineligible under 221 g and was asked to fill a questionnaire of DS 5535 on 9th november. after 10 days i received a message stating that passport is ready at the embassy pl come and collect it. When i went to the collection counter, i got an empty passport when i asked them about the same they said its not their mistake and redirected me to customer care no of US Visa Hyderabad. I dont understand one thing they took my passport and gave it back without any stamp, now the visa status shows Administrative Processing.
Now i have two questions in"my mind
1. Is there any rule that embassy should not keep the passport for a longer time? Did anyone come across a similar Situation as mine?
2. How often do they update the status in Visa Tracker page??

The interview was fairly standard, and as always they asked me to furnish more details of my research, CV, funding agencies and some people they can contact to verify these details. I have submitted the word document. It took over a day to get the auto-acknowledgment. I am currently waiting for this to be done.
1 Month: No updates yet. Waiting.
43 days: no updates.
On Nov 9 I got an email to submit the passport in response to my lawyer contacting the embassy. 5 days later I went to the VFS and got my passport. Never got the SMS.... (You can check the status online though, I suggest you use than and not depend on the SMS - search for passport tracker)
The Ceac tracker was pretty pointless in my case. It saw no updates
My clearance had apparently come in 31 days but somehow the embassy took forever to stamp. (2 more weeks) I have a feeling they would have taken longer if the lawyer hadn't contacted them.
Anyway. I got my O1 for 2 years (shorter than the 3 approved in my petition)
