I attended visa interview on Feb 3rd. I lost my old passports in London in 2010. They called me and asked to bring details about lost passports. I submitted my Police complaint copies etc about my lost passports. They also took my Adhar card and PAN card etc., on Feb 11th. But my status is in Administrative processing with Created and Updated dates as Feb 3rd. Still waiting...
30th Sep, 2016 : I sent mail to [email protected] 2 days back enquiring about my case. I got this reply asking for me to attend for reinterview on 6th October: Please come for a re-interview on October 06, 2016 at 10:00 am.
Kindly carry all supporting documents pertaining to your nonimmigrant visa case.
Please bring your ORIGINAL valid photo identity proof (Government issued – Passport, Driver’s License, PAN card, Electoral Identity card, Aadhar card etc.), print-out of this confirmation letter while coming to the Consulate General.

9/12 :total in USA 5 years ( 2 years L1 B and 3 years H1 B ) this is my first H1 B stamping based on the my second approved petition( i-140 approved on 2 years back ).
In Visa interview they asked basic question and client letter only. i have provided the same , they asked me to wait in the room after 30 min they called me and returned my client letter and passports and she said that your case required Administrative Processing.
They ticked on Administrative Processing check box only ...
i don't know how long it takes .

Work as a Research Scientist at Top-20 university with an approved 1-797 under exempt (academic) quota.
PhD in mechanical engineering (from US) with specialization in computational fluid dynamics. Don't think this field is under TAL but still was issued a 221(g) and the current status on CEAC is 'Administrative Processing'. Have lived in the US for for more than 8 years as F-1 student-> postdoc -> and now full time-staff, still this crap.
In hindsight, I was foolish NOT to expect a 221(g). Seems most people with PhDs in STEM fields have to go through this nightmare. Am mentally prepared for more than 30 days of wait and agony :(
Any non-IT/non-spouse people with "Admin Processing'?
Update#1 : Got an email to submit passport on Sep 22nd. (20 calendar days for AP)

This is my first time getting a Green Slip, I had a 5 year Visa before this.
I had my interview on the 19th and submitted on the 21st, I received an E-Mail from Mumbai-X on the 22nd, they wanted more information on my Research so I added the information to the "Word Document" and replied to their E-Mail o the 23rd. I haven't heard back from them yet, today is (11th September).
I have my conference on 7th October, all the dates are legible on the Invitation Letter I submitted. Hopefully, the officers consider that, as time is money.
This has been a very frustrating experience and the first time I have ever gone through something like this. Horrible.
Update 1 - Got an E-Mail to submit Passport on 16th, September.
Update 2 - Passport submitted on 19th, September.
Update 3 - Visa issued on 21st, September.
Update 4 - Collected Passport with Visa on 22nd, September. (Validity - 1 year)

My and my husband came to Thailand for vacation and we both got 221g when we went for interview for h1 and h4. We both had our petitions approved. VO seemed confused about my past, as I did my undergrad and worked during OPT before changing my status to h4. At the end he issued us 221g and said he doesnt know when it would be completed. We are losing hope.
