My Parents are from Srinagar, They had an interview for a visit visa on Aug 1st, 2019 at the US Embassy (New Delhi). We opted for Premium Delivery (Pay 500 INR each passport) and have it delivered in a few days. Due to the ongoing Curfew straight from Aug 5th until now, and God knows how long this is going to continue. I was wondering if there's any way of tracking the passports. I have already sent quite a few emails and called the IVR for passport tracking, and all it says is, "The Passport is with the post". I wish i could get at-least a tracking number or something. Both my parents are Diabetic and I wanted to get them treated in the US. I have only heard from my parents once in the last 40 days, and given that i normally talk to them everyday, it's a really stressful time for me, and i know for them as well.
I would really appreciate any advice on this, that could make ease my suffering a little bit.

I attended an H1B interview for a new postdoc I would be starting in Aug, The VO asked questions about my future research, how long I had been in the states, my salary, what animal models we used and which disease we would be researching. He was very nice and very apologetically handed me the 221g yellow slip, I submitted my CV and also offer letter just in case. I will post updates on here, if anyone is in the same boat, please comment here or email me on [email protected], would appreciate any information on timelines. I should mention I have Canadian PR and an approved self petitioned EB2NIW, still didn't help. I finally got approved, received request to submit passport on Aug 28th, submitted passport and documents on the same day, status changed to issued on 10th Sep got passport back on the 12th and I797 back on the 13th of Sep

I attended the interview on 08/16. The VO asked some basic questions and took the lca and client letter. He returned my passport and asked m me to email in five business days. It has been a month. There is no update in the status tracker or email communication.i was called on 08/28 to the vac and all my original documents that were collected during the interview were returned . I do not understand why or what that means.

I'm writing on behalf of my wife who got a 221(g) recently. I found Immihelp to be very helpful for reading what others in a similar situation had gone through, so wanted to share our experience as well.
This was her first H-1 stamping after completing her MS. She has been working for 3 years for a reputed US tech company. Here's the sequence of events.
July 5: Interview in Mumbai. VO said Visa was approved
July 10: Received passport without Visa stamp. 221(g) issued and asked to await further instructions
July 17: Received DS 5535. Responded same day
Sept 5: Exactly after 60 days, received an email to submit passport (there were no updates on CEAC website after the initial July 5 date)
Sept 6: Submitted passport via drop-off
Sept 10: Status changed to 'Issued'
Sept 11: Received passport via Bluedart
Good luck to all those who are still waiting.
