How long between EAD approval and interview scheduling
Dear all, just wanted to collect some data to see how long people have waited to get their interview schedule date after EAD approval or biometrics. I understand it is highly region-specific but data always help!

Thanks everyone!

Adjustment of Status from B1/B2 Spouse based
My apologies , for posting a question instead of experience in this forum.
I was on student visa in the united Kingdom when I met my wife on a dating website , initially we started as friends and couple of months later we started dating. She sent me valuable gifts from the US many times and transferred money whenever I was in problem. We officially announced our relationship on the Facebook , being into long distance relationship , it was very difficult for both of us to get accustomed with each other culture and religion.
she is a born white American , later on she changed her religion as well and started studying my culture. We told our families the decision Of getting married but it was very to convince them but eventually everything was sorted. I applied for B1/B2 visa from US embassy London and got it in October 2014 used my wife details as sponsor.
In February 2015 I arrived the US for 3 days and returned to the UK and my home country to get the approval from my family regarding marriage.
In March 2015 , I came again , I wasn't sure how her family would deal with me , as entirely from different culture and religion . I can't live with her without being religiously married so I got married religiously and started meeting with her family . Now I am convinced but she doesn't want me to leave .
Can I adjust my status , will I be accused of visa fraud with preconceived intent of getting married though it wasn't any ? Is it better for me to hire an attorney ?

My Adjustment of Status Experience
Hi everyone!

I have been checking this forum out since I got decided to get my green card, and I wanted to share my experience. Maybe it'll help someone, because while looking for info, I couldn't find a similar case to mine, or if not, it at least would be a good timeline guideline.

My Background:
I came to the States under a B1-B2 visa in 1992, while still a minor. Six months later I applied for Asylum in Miami, a couple of months after I received EAD Card, applied for SSN and a FL ID Card. My asylum application was being processed and for a few years I didn't hear a thing about it. In 1995 I married my husband, he is a USC. Due to the lack of funds I didn't adjust my status, but kept renewing my EAD Card until 1998. Around the time before my EAD Card expired, I received an interview notice, unfortunately the rest of the notice which was the instructions and place and date wasn't legible. I tried to get someone in INS to give me info, but alas none was available. My husband and I decided to not to bring up the asylum until I adjusted my status. Due to my husband's military related job, he had extensive background checks done and none of my INS proceedings were an issue.

My Timeline:
12/16/14 Mailed I-130, I-485 and I-765 Forms (From Southeast Georgia to Chicago Lockbox)
12/19/14 USCIS Acceptance Notice Email and Text Messages
12/23/14 3 Receipt Notifications Received
01/05/15 Biometrics Appointment Notification Received
01/22/15 Biometrics Appointment @ Jacksonville FL Support Office (11:00 appt. 15 mins early arrival. Done @ 11:07)
02/13/15 EAD Card Issued
02/20/15 Interview Scheduled
02/23/15 Interview Notice Received
02/24/15 EAD Card Received
03/26/15 Interview @ Atlanta Field Office (12:45 appt. 90 min wait time, 10 min interview)
04/03/15 Approval Letters Received
04/04/15 Card in my hands!

The interview wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The Officer asked for our id's then sworn us in. He had only 1 real question "What took us so long?". After explaining and clarifying some information, including the reason for my asylum application, he only asked to see my original I-94 and I showed him my last expired EAD Card, which he kept both. At the end of the interview he approve my application, gave us a letter underlining the choice of "recommending approval" but he said he already approved it, told us the card should take about 3 weeks.

We took an accordion file full of documents but in the end I think the interview was a formality. Also, my alien # is the same one assigned to me in that first EAD Card back in 1992.

Approved today at interview
Hi everyone! I just got approved today!

Oct 23 2014: Married
Dec 10 2014: Application received by USCIS (485, 130, 765 etc)
Jan 10 2015: Fingerprinting done
Feb 13 2015: Advanced Parole Received
Feb 23 2015: Interview scheduled for March 30 2015
Feb 25 2015: EAD card received
March 30 2015: Interview

So my story is that I came to the US at age of 6 on someone else's passport (with inspection because I landed from India to JFK). I had NO proof of coming here with inspection...no passport/visa or anything. I was approved for DACA before marriage. Needless to say, I was nervous about how the officer would view this and thats why we hired an attorney.

We got extremely lucky today. Our officer was an older Hispanic woman, who is also a supervisor (I later found out from my attorney). We went through the usual routine of being sworn, security questions, and she verified our information we provided on the initial application. The officer was taken aback by my entry at first but did not make a big deal out of it since I was 6. She went through all of our paperwork and noted down all of our joint statements, bills, lease, insurance etc. She then asked about how we met, who proposed first, what we enjoy doing, and if we plan to have a family. She was more interested in the paper proof we submitted than our pics. I had prepared about 100 pictures but she only looked at about ten and was satisfied. She made us feel at ease and offered us candy! She was super sweet! She then told us she was going to approve us and printed our approval notice! I was not expecting to be approved on the spot!!

My advice is to come prepared but don't be nervous-as long as your marriage is real you will be good. You don't need an attorney unless you have a complicated issue like I did, but it does go a lot easier with an attorney. Plus they prep all the paperwork and put a package together for you (ours did anyways). We paid a high price and I would not have hired an attorney if I had proof of my inspection entry.
