AP
Can someone please tell me what types of reasons qualify for educational purposes? If someone has already graduated from college can they enroll in one short course of training program of choice and request AP based on that?

Also if you work for a small company and want to attend a global seminar thats realted to your business, is that a good enough reason for employment purpose?

AP- DACA
Hello!

I am back to the states and wanted to share my experience.
I applied back in November and got everything approved by April 1st. I travelled April 9th-23rd. I was so stressed about this whole thing and could not enjoyed my vacation but I'm so glad everything went well. On my way back the officer asked me 3 questions: "why was I coming back to the US? I responded with " in coming back to work" he then asked me where do I work? And how long was I in Nicaragua. After I answered all 3 questions he said to wait for a different officer. An officer came and took me to a different office, I waited there for about 10 minutes and then the officer stamped my passport and said welcome back! After this I was so happy and could barely say anything to my husband and son who were waiting for me with the luggage.

Do know I had deportation ordered but the case was reopened and an immigration lawyer terminated my deportation. I took copies of that, marriage license, birth certificate of my son none of those were needed but take as many documents as you can.

I hope this helps and encourage those people who are still debating in taking advantage of this opportunity.

Thanks!

Karen H.

DACA Advance Parole update!
Hello everyone I just wanted to share that I am back in the States after traveling to Mexico to visit my ill grandmother. It's a total dream to have had the amazing opportunity to see so many family members who I hadn't seen since I was brought to the States 20yrs ago.

I submitted my AP paper work at the end of November. Application was received at the Nebraska center 12/5. My case was approved 3/18 with the travel dates 3/22-7/22. I left 4/14 and just got back 4/26. I traveled through Portland PDX along with my brother who also had AP. We both got the same officer. Everything went smooth, other than it took a while (like 40 mins) because the computers were down. I feel so blessed to now have a "Legal Entry", my AP docs both got stamped, they kept one and I got one back. My passport was also stamped. I always said from the start that God was in control, and believed that if it was meant to be he would make it happen. And he did. All on his own time. Don't loose faith, if you get AP approval USE IT! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Good luck to all on your journeys. Don't ever forget to pray. Jesuschrist is king and he is good!!!

Off topic BUT...
Have you all noticed how long the USCIS have been taking to give their applicants/customers a decision on their cases? I personally think they're being petty and spiteful. There's NO REASON for then to take this long to approve or deny someone. Especially since they've been continuously raising the fees. Something tells me that the whole DT administration has something to do with it too. Either way, it's senseless and frustrating. I applied for a renewal of my Daca since the beginning of JAN 2017 and I still haven't heard anything back after I did the Biometrics in FEB. My EAD card (work permit) has expired since the early part of April 2017. Still no answer. I called them time after time and got the same response "we're sorry, but these cases can take up to 6 months to fulfill, call us back if you've surpassed 105 days." Well my 105th day will be at the end of this week. So Monday morning I'll be calling them bright and early for a service request! Omg it's beyond frustrating at this point. I wish i (WE,US) didn't have to go thru this every 2yrs. I'm grateful don't get me wrong, but damn there's only so much a person can take. Oh and I've filed for my Advance Parole back in September 2016 , still no approval or denial. They requested for more evidence, I have them that a month ago, now I'm still waiting. So my DACA is expired, plus my advance parole won't even be granted with an expired DACA. This is the worst.

***MUST READ*** Expedited Advanced Parole 11 weeks approval
I see a lot of people who filed for advanced parole many months ago and are still waiting for their stuff to get approved. Different lawyers tell their clients that they wait time can be anywhere from 4-6 months.

Here is my experience, I did all the paperwork myself, I did all my own research and I filed everything no lawyers where involved. My AP was to visit my sick grandmother in Mexico, first of all only imidiate family (mom, dad or siblings) can will be considered emergency AP and can be done in person. For a grandmother or anything else you have to mail it in, find out what processing center corresponds to you and mail your documents there. Include every price of evidence you can about your reason for travel, include family members I'D, hospital statements and if possible letters from the doctor himself. Then have all papers translated to english to make it easier for the agent who takes on your case to be able to read through it easy.

Include a cover letter asking USCIS to please Expedite your request, and write "expedite" on the top write of your I-131 document and mail exerything overnight to the courier or overnight Dropbox of whatever center corresponds to you.

I did this method and I got my advanced parole approved and sent to me in 11 weeks.

Sent my documents to USCIS 02/07/17
USCIS recived my request on 02/08/17
USCIS approved my request 04/18/17
USCIS mailed my Documents 04/19/17
Documents recivied 04/21/17

I was skeptical at first but I managed to find courage through this page and know I share my knowledge with you all. Don't get frustrated and don't lose hope. If you cant afford a lawyer to do it just know that will a little research you CAN do it yourself.

advance parole
Hi folks,
today USCIS updated my employment authorization to "New Card Being Produced", but the travel document still stays on "Case Was Received".

I have applied for both I-765 and I-131.

Does the other one have to update too, or will I receive directly the Combo card?

Thank you!

My question is after I send all the information requested how long does it usually take for a responce and if so has anyone had this happened and were they approved or denied?? Please give me some insight on the case. By the way I did file the case with an attorney.
