Peding application for change of status ?
Hi everyone, question in regards to traveling with AP. Does one have to have a current application or plan to submit an application for change of status in the near future in order to travel with AP.

I have already been approved for AP but I do not have an immediate family member that would be able to petition for me other than continuing my DACA status after travel..
I know some officers will ask at the time of reentry how someone plans to adjust their status. Just wanting to prepare myself on what to answer.

Thanks in Advance for responses and advice.

Wanting to travel to Australia for employment opportunity
Hi there to everyone! I'm really happy to have found
This website, and even more happier that everyone helps one another !
And that's why I'm here :).
So I'm close to renewing my DACA for the third time, but for the first
time I'll be applying for advance parole , so I can go and travel to Australia
for a job opportunity. if I get it, I'll be getting an interview and training
for a month. (I get so nervous at the thought of being able
to get this opportunity come true lol.) I've never been out of
the country. I'm a Mexican citizen like a lot of you here, with a Mexican
Passport. Now my questions are (any advice helps)
What evidence would pass?
Would they be able to give me the month?
Would I have any trouble leaving or coming back if I were to go?
Sorry if my questions sound stupid at any point.
Thank you for the help!

Requesting Advance Parole (Immigration walk in)
He everyone!

I have decided to share my advance parole journey with you all since this forum is what gave me the straight to start the process in the first place.

 Current Status: DACA (since 2012)
Married to US Citizen since 2014

Like most of you in the forum who share a similar experience I too am afraid of the unknown with the new presidential administration. For the past couple of years I contemplated the idea to begin adjusting my status through my husband who is a us citizen. I kept putting it off with the hope that the Differed Action would turn into something more permanent and I would be able to fix my situation without having to do the process through my husband. Well now i regret not starting the process right away and waiting. Things are getting very difficult and now that I got an opportunity to request advance parole, I decided that the risk is well worth it. I contacted an attorney, got all of the required documents and decided to be able to speed up the process to walk in my request for advance parole to the immigration office here in Sacramento. My attorney has helped many others in my same situation go into the process and thankfully they have all made it back safely. I have my appointment this coming Tuesday the 11th. I am praying to get approved and if I am I would receive the approval that same day and I would be allowed to travel right away. My husband and I have already talked about flying that weekend in a direct flight to Guadalajara and coming back early that week. My mom is having anxiety and says I shouldn't risk it buy this forum has given me a positive outlook. I don't have any legal issues pending, I had a driving without a license ticket, and running over a stop sigh about 7 years ago but i payed those tickets and didn't even have to go to court. other than that my record is clean. I keep telling my self I have nothing to worry about so i can keep my sanity until my appointment next week. But the truth is I am very nervous and scared. I just hope i get the approval on Tuesday, that will be the first major hurtle ............your prayers would be very helpful!! :)

Approved/No document yet
Hi y'all!

Received - Nov. 29th
Approved - March 17th
Approval letter - March 20th

It's been 2 weeks since I received the approval letter. My case online hasn't changed from Approved since then. My lawyer says this is unusual but it could be that they're behind on production :/ I called USCIS to submit an inquiry on March 27th. They said I should expect an answer within 15-30 days.
Has anyone experienced this long of a delay in receiving your travel document?

Kay

hello everyone, my husband left for Mexico on 4/1/17 with DACA/Advanced Parole. He does have a misdemeanor for domestic violence, he was never convicted. This happened on 2010. He went to Mexico alone, to see his family and will be back on 4/9 coming thru Orlando international. I ask for your prayers, hes scared he wont be let back in because of the arrest. But reading these forums have given us faith to do it. Does anyone have or know anyone that has an arrest record came back?

Travel experience
Hello everyone,

I departed from Chicago ohare on March 30 and returned this morning. Before my departure I was very scared to travel because I do have a misdemeanor class A on my record. After thinking things over and over I decided to take the risk. I had the opportunity to see family members that I hadn't seen in years and I'm grateful for that. On my arrival back to Chicago everything went very smoothly. I lined up in the visitor section and when I approached the counter ,they took my finger prints of both hands, asked for my passport and advanced parole documents. After that , I got transferred to another waiting area and it took them about 10 to 15 minutes to stamp both my passport and advanced parole paperwork without any questions asked. Thanks for everyone's feedback because if it wasn't for them I probably would've never even attempted to take this huge risk.

Advanced Parole
Hi All!

All of your stories are so encouraging and making this processes a little less stressful for me. I have been approved for advanced parole and would like to go visit my parents grave sites. I keep hearing that it is better to go sooner rather than later and would like to book my flight within the next couple days. I was recommended a few different airlines but the only airline I have been able to find with a direct from from LAX to Zacatecas is on Volaris. Has anyone had any experiences with this airline or recommend one that would be accepting of advanced parole?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Travel to Mexico with Advance Parole and DACA
My husband, who has DACA, applied for advance parole to attend a conference at the request of his employer. I am a citizen and traveled with him.

Applied for Advance Parole November 14, 2016

Received advance parole travel documents March 10, 2017

Flew to Ciudad Juarez 3/28 (flew to Atlanta, then Monterrey, then Ciudad Juarez)

Attended conference and returned to U.S. 3/31 via airports.

At the Ciudad Juarez ticket counter, the Aeromexico employee took a copy of the advance parole travel document and took about 20 minutes to verify its validity with his supervisor. They had not seen this before and said they could be fined for accepting invalid documents. The supervisor apologized for the delay. We received our boarding passes and boarded the flight to Monterrey.

Upon arriving at Monterrey, we were called to our next gate, which was for a Delta flight. The Delta employee took just a few minutes to check the advance parole document and my husband's passport and issued us new Delta boarding passes. My husband's luggage was also screened at the gate.

Upon arriving in Atlanta, we filled out a customs form declaring some food we had, and went through the foreign/visitors immigration line. The officer just a few simple questions: "Are you married? How long were you in Mexico? What was the purpose of your trip? Do you have DACA?" He also electronically scanned all of my husband's fingerprints (4 fingers, then thumb on each hand). He said advance parole is processed at the far end, retained my husband's passport and advance parole document, then had us wait at the end of the lobby. There weren't many others waiting and we only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seen.

The second officer was very nice, requested we hand over the 2nd copy of the advance parole travel document so it could not be used again, and explained that the 'ONE DAY' on the document meant he would be 'paroled' for the duration of a day, then would continue having whatever status he had before leaving the country. He showed that my husband's passport had the same stamp as the one applied to the advance parole document so we had a record of being paroled. He also said 'welcome home,' which was very nice!

We had evidence of attending the conference ready, but they did not request it.
