Question on DACA and Advance Parole
Disclaimer: My question might be a question that has been answered already but with the current political climate I think everyone is making different decisions and I want to gauge how people would view my situation.

I am currently a graduate student and applied to study abroad in Rome through my school. I got accepted but I am hesitant to fully commit. I am a DACA recipient, and have been in the US since I was 9, I have a clean record, a college degree and two years of grad school under my belt. I asked my family what they think and they do not seem to be supportive at all of me wanting to travel to Rome to study (I love history and architecture, Rome is the perfect program for me). I understand why, it is risky and I might never see them again if I can't come back in, but has that happened in the past? Have people been denied entry?

There are three main things I’m considering right now:
1. Besides the Advance Parole that I would need to apply for (which, if I need to leave by end of September, I'm assuming I will have to submit my application in the next two weeks), I would need to renew my DACA before I leave since my DACA expires a week after I'm supposed to come back to the US. This means I have to time everything right and hope there are no hold ups in my applications so that I can get my fingerprints taken before I leave the country.

2. My program is two and half months long, I know other DACA, advance parole recipients only leave for two or three weeks at a time, with the unstable policies in place two and half months seem like a long time. This means more time for the current administration to make changes while I am away.

3. If I am waiting for advance parole, should I buy my tickets last minute if I decide on going? Or should I buy them now while they are cheap?

This process is super expensive and the program itself is expensive. I would deplete my life savings but this is something I have been dreaming of. At the same time I am conflicted. I am pretty much deporting myself by leaving this country that I love. It is scary to think I might never see my family or friends again. Plus my parents are not supporting me, I understand why, but this is the first time they have fully refused to support me.

If my advance parole document is denied once I try to come back, is that the end of the road for me? Should I have attorneys ready just in case that happens? Can they do anything? What is your input on my situation? Should I go on this program? Also what has been the recent timeline for advance parole and daca renewals? I keep going back and forth on what I'm going to do and any insight would help.

Sorry for the lengthiness...thank you for your time.

Advanced Parole
hello everyone, here is my experience
I came to the united states with my family in 1999. I was only 8 years old. I applied for DACA in march 2016. On November 2016 I was approved. I talked to my lawyer and asked if he recommended me to apply for Advanced parole. I was very honest and told him I had been stopped many times by the police for traveling without license and insurance, and also for passing a stop sign. I had showed him my record and told him I paid I was up to date. I also told him I was currently on on SR22 for 3 years. My lawyer told me that I was fine to travel. So my wife and I decided to apply for advanced parole in November 2016. on march 2017 I was approved to travel. My brother and I traveled to Guadalajara Jalisco together. Our trip was planned from April 17-22 ,2017. I was very excited to see my ill grandmother after 18 years. my whole trip my family and I where praying constantly for a miracle to Mexico and back to Chicago safe. We flew from Chicago midway airport to Guadalajara Jalisco. on the 22nd we flew from mexico back to Chicago. when we landed there was a big line. after finally seeing an immigration officer I gave my two advanced parole papers. the immigration officer asked me how long have I been in the US. I told her since 1999. she also asked how old was I , I told her I wsa 8 years old. She asked me if I had a criminal record. I told her that I only got pulled over for passing a stop sign. after that she stamped my advanced parole, and told me if I wanted to travel again to not pass the dates given on my advanced parole. it only took 10 mins and I was on my way home. Everyone that has advanced parole and has no criminal record, don't worry go for it. There is nothing to worry about. Pray constantly and trust in God. any questions let me know......

My AP just approved.
Hello everyone. My name is Rene Figueroa. I applied for my AP back in December 2016, and it just go approved last week. I will be traveling to El Salvador from May 4 to May 9 to visit my grandparents. I am so excited. It's been 12 years since I came to the states. I am currently living in Durham, North Carolina because I am interning with Cisco. But I booked my flight from SFO since I have lived in the Bay Area since I came to the the states. My question is the following: has anyone traveled through SFO? I have only heard positive experiences about it so far. But the more I know the better.

Advance Parole
Hello everyone! I submitted my application on March 29th, 2017 and I got a text on April 16th saying they received my application. I need to go back to my home country in July for my sister's wedding (July 25th) and I'm worried that my travel documents won't make it before the date of my sister's wedding. I was wondering, should I expedite my application (form I 131), or just wait for the normal processing time? I wanna buy my ticket soon but I wanted to make sure the card will be here before my expected travel date. What to do?? Help!!

Second Marriage AOS CONCERN
Hello everyone!
Please I need advice.
In 1994, i got married to my first husband, a USC, and filed for AOS . We were also interviewed the same year. Things went well at the interview but we were asked to submit one more document which we did immediately . But we didn't get any feedback until about 5yrs later. But, by then, we were already separated and could not go to the second interview ( the notice said "for passport stamping")
About 3 yrs into the marriage, I found out that my husband was cheating on me. I even caught him on our matrimonial bed with a woman! He thought I was working late.
It was a horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.
I tried to divorce him on the ground of adultery but he refused. He said it would "damage his record."
We remained separated until I met my current husband 4yrs after. In order for me to marry my husband, I had to give in to divorcing my ex on the ground of abandonment. We got married couple of weeks after my divorce was final, and have been happily married for over 12 yrs.
Now, my husband is petitioning for me. We held on this long because I was afraid of my past AOS with my ex. Our Lawyer advised us that it would raise questions. I contacted my ex who, due to guilty feeling, is willing to write an affidavit to help my case.
Does anyone have similar experience?
Please share.
I would so much appreciate it.
Thanks!

Back in the U.S
Hi Guys,

I'm back home from my trip to Mexico. As you all know leaving is never an issue, therefore leaving the country was a piece of cake. I spent 6 days in Mexico with family. Coming back I checked in with a Delta worker and she checked my passport and AP paper. She then printed my ticket and I noticed it said "DOCS OK". I proceeded to security and everything was fine and then I waited 2 hours for my flight to leave. I had a connecting flight in Atlanta and I had about 90 minutes between flights ( if you have connecting flights make sure you have about 2-3 hours because customs and immigration lines can get long) I rushed to go through customs and immigration and luckily there was no line. The officer asked me for my passport and visa but I said I had advance parole, he thought it was DACA but I said it was through adjustment of status. He took a look at my paper and passport and asked how long I was out the country and I said " six days" . He was looking t his computer (idkk what was there) and then asked me to confirm my parent's names. He fingerprint both my hands and took a picture of me. Finally, he stamped my passport and AP papers "Paroled until April 19, 2018". He returned both my papers and I rushed through security once again.

This time around it was quicker than when I traveled with AP DACA. It took about 10 minutes bet that was because he was soooooo slowwwwww!!!!

- PS- I applied for AP under AOS valid for one year after I traveled with AP DACA in 2015. I hope this
helps many of you. I'm planing to travel again in July.
