Going out of country on a trip
Hello,
I have a question. I got a 2 year green card this year and I am wondering if there is anything I should do before going out of the country for a month. I won't have any issues to come back to the USA with the 2 year green card, right?
My social security card says "Valid for work only with DHS authorization". Do I have to do anything/update it with the social security office before my trip?

I need help with i-751
Hi Fam,

I am in a tough situation here and I need your help in planning the next courses of action.
I am married to a US citizen and flew out to my country two weeks ago.
I am pregnant for 6 months(5 month + 2 days to be exact) now and was told by doctor today that I am high risk in preterm labor due to baby hanging too low...so I was ordered to stay bed ridden so baby won't come out early.

Here is my concern.
My conditional 2 year permanent resident card expires in Jan 2022. And my baby is due in Jan 2022, but if I am still diagnosed with high risk pregnancy and ordered to be bed ridden to insure my baby's safety there is a chance I can't chance getting on a flight back to the U.S. to renew with i 751 in time.

I was told that I needed to be in the states to apply for i 751 because I could be asked to come in for interview and finger prints potentially. Is this true???

Also, is there anyone who could shed some lights for me?
I am really worried right now for our baby's safety and for my legal status for my return back to the states.

Potomac YSC - 20 months
Time line for Potomac YSC is 20 months from the date of application to Green Card in hand. Actually from the day of approval text it took 6 days to have the card in hand.
Good luck everyone this was insane long time to wait for some one going through 20 pages of paper !!

Missed biometrics appointment
“If you missed your appointment, we are unable to submit a rescheduling request. Please wait to receive communication from the office processing your case.”

I received the mail for my biometrics late after the date of the appointment.
This is what a tier 2 agent email me.
My lawyer told me to wait like 2 more weeks and try to contact USCIS again, if they still say they cannot reschedule then i should reapply to remove conditions.

Anyone in the same situation or any advice? Thank you

Got citizenship without Green Card - Well 10 years Green Card
Hi guys - I became a citizen yesterday and I am happy to share my time line with you all. My story is kinda weird as I never received my greencard (10 years one)

December 19 2019, case received for 1 751 - applied in Florida - receipt begins with YSC
January 5 or so i did my fingerprints

case, status was never updated - it stayed stuck at we received your case

February 1, 2020 - Moved to Colorado
February 3 2020 - notified USCIS of my address change - still nothing changed about my case at this point

November 17 2020, applied for n 400
February 8 2021 - finger prints reused for n 400
May 7 2021 - interview invite sent for n 400
May 10 moved back Florida with family
June 8 interview for n 400

During the interview, I was asked the normal questions around testing, my marriage and family, updated some docs and my address change - explain my job switch - I was also sure to tell the officer that nothing I am saying right now would be very accurate, I am only sharing timelines to the best of my abilities. The officer finished with me and couldn't make a decision, she said my 1 751 has not been transferred to their office, that usually she should have received them weeks before but she's not sure why she hasn't gotten them. she said she hoped to get them before the week runs out but that I shouldn't expect to hear back in another two weeks since would be going on leave.

She also said, my n 400 looks very sufficient but she would like to see my 1 751 so she knows what i filled and all, see my tax transcripts and W2s.

I also showed her pictures of marriages, she never asked but i made sure to share them. I also showed her pictures of my baby and how much I felt grateful to have them in my life

My case status changed that day from 6 months to 11 months on the processing timeline

After two weeks i heard nothing

June 17 - change of address from Colorado to Florida
June 25 2021, info pass to get my passport stamped - conditional green card was collected from me and passport was stamped
July 13 2021, i 751 was transferred to NBC for processing
July 25 2021, we approved your i 751

I was hoping to get my green card or approval notice and i kept waiting

August 3 - n 400 status changed to we recommend your n 400 to be approved
August 4 n 400 was placed in line for oath ceremony
August 5 n 400 - oath ceremony mailed
August 5 - i checked online and saw the letter - it was sent to Colorado not my new address in Florida
August 13 - i received the letter in Florida - since i did address forwarding

at this point i was worried about my greencard and approval notice since i needed to return greencard to get my oath ceremony done

August 14th - i received the green card approval letter- it was also sent to Colorado and not Florida. But it got forwarded to Florida

Inside of the letter, USCIS said I will not be getting a greencard, that they noticed that my n 400 was approved -(this letter was dated July 25) - that i don't need a greencard as I would become a citizen right after i do my oath ceremony.

August 16th - i missed a call from USCIS colorado
August 16th - I called back the officer

The officer said that she received a request to transfer my case to my new address in Florida but since I was already scheduled for oath ceremony, she wanted to see if I am okay with coming to Colorado. And that if I was okay with it, she would decline to forward my details but if I wasn't she would send it to Florida and have them scheduled the oath ceremony. I told her i was okay with Colorado.

August 18th - ceremony day - 25 of us did it! they asked for my greencard and I showed them my letter saying I would not be getting one.

Address
Hi everyone, I moved to a different address after I got my conditional green card, I forgot to notify USCIS of address change. However, in form I-751 that I recently mailed to USCIS, my current address is my new address. Will that automatically update my address? or do I have to submit a separate address change form?

Thanks for all your help
