I attended my B1 visa interview on 4th Feb in Hyderabad, I was not tensed at all as I was going through the questions which are in Immi help, it helped me a lot and took the interview with confidence. Their was a lady in the counter, said thanks to my self.

 Here are the questions which asked below at the time of interview.

1. What you do when you go their(USA)?
2. What's your company name?
3. What you company does?
4. Who is your client?
5. Can I see the invitation letter?
6. What's the relation between client and your company?
7. For how many days you will stay their?
8. How much is your salary? ( Always say salary in per annum mode)
9. Are you married?
10. Are you staying with your family?
11. For How many years you are working with this company?

I thought that she may ask 4 or max 5 but she has asked many questions. At last She said "Your Visa is Approved", enjoy the stay. I thanked her for the words.

So go through Immi help for questions and prepare you self and I am going to states.

I applied for B1 visa for training and was tensed initially since i am not married, Age 25 and 2.5 years exp.
Biometirics went smoothly with few security checks. Do not carry electronic items.

VO was lady speaking multiple languages, in her 30s may be.

VO: What is the purpose of your travel
Me: To attend training scheduled by my company on our product.

VO: Which company you work for?
Me: XYZ(Reputed company).

VO: Can i see the invite letter.
Me: Sure, and passed the invite letter and the schedule.

VO: For how long is it?
Me: Around 6 weeks.

VO: 6 weeks? That is too long.
Me: Yeah, but the training is in very depth as described in schedule and we need to implement the upgrades in India after coming back.

VO: Okay. How long will the upgrade take after you coming back.
Me: Around 6-7 months.

VO: 6 weeks training will take 6 months to implement?
Me: Yes, that involves multiple activities like design, coding testing etc.

VO: Okay. Where you are going.
Me: XYZ place and mentioned the address.

VO: Okay. Your VISA is issued, enjoy your stay.

VISA application status changed to issued after 1 day, waiting for Passport.

She did not ask me anything about why I am going, or meeting agenda, invitation letter or any specific questions . I was in formals , wear my company tag.
is there is my salary problem? and some times i ask her for replete the question.
Please Suggest what is the reason for B1 Rejection as my company also apply my H1 B visa , so i am scared about by this rejection.

I attended my B1 VISA interview on Jan 28,2016 (Biometrics) and 29th (Consulate interview) at Chennai. Was bit tense initially. But the Visa Officer was a nice lady and welcomed me a nice smile.

She did not ask me anything about why I am going, or meeting agenda specific questions . I would suggest be in formals , wear you company tag, and be confident. Slight flutter here and there , they ll notice you and then starts the downhill.

 PS: Honestly I was confused , i went with the impression that they never give visa on first attempt :( , i was dressed in shalwar qameez which is again a negative.

What you recommend should i apply again with 2-3 weeks gape. I have very strong ties with home country as I am married , I have house on my name , i have good bank balance. and last but more importantly I am also doing my masters from a reputed university i just finished my course work no research in progress and i am enrolled for this semester.

My company decided to send me USA for training and applied for my visa.

On 1st dec 2015 my office Travel desk filled online DS160 form for me and paid the fees

It should have taken 2-3 days as per the information provided on US TRAVEL DOCS

but my application was activated On 19th Dec 2015

then my travel desk associate took appointment for me on 22nd dec 2015 for biometric and

interview date on 5th jan 2016

Gone for my biometric at bandra VAC centre on 22nd dec 2015 timing was 10:15 am

security gaurd gave permission at 10:00 am after checking my passport, DS form and

appointment confirmation to enter the centre

1st security check was done checking info from passport and appointment letter

2nd counter took the passport and pasted barcode on it giving me coupen to wait for my turn

3rd i got my window number where the associate asked me my name and dob and then took my

finger prints and photos and was done for that day.

Gone for my interview on 5th jan 2016 morning at 8:45 am although my appointment timing was

10:00 am i waited in queue which was long nearly 100 people were waiting before me for

their interview, then waiting after 1 hr entered in interview centre where at one window

they cross checked my finger prints and photo which was taken at biometric centre then

again got into the queue waiting for my turn for interviewed there were nearly about 6 to 7

windows conducting interviews for the people asking different different questions which

could be heard clearly then comes my turn at 10:30 am

Me : On the occasion of the launch of a new product

Me : i am a quality analyst and my job is to audit the work done by the agents in my

company

Handed over my passport to me with a form which stated 221(G) additional documents required

VO : Okay you will need to submit Police certificate from your regional passport office

along with your passport and the 221(G) form given to you
Me : Okay thank you

on that day itself i reached my regional passport office where i got info that to obtain a

police certificate you need to apply online

Researched on internet about how to obtain police certificate and then was really very

worried coz information was you can obtain your Police certificate either in one day or

might it take long time if police verification is needed and the approx time was 3 to 4

weeks or may be 6 weeks

so one of my friend told me to take help of agent

i contacted the agent asking him to help me to get me Police certificate coz i have very

less time to get my visa to fly USA

he has taken a good amount from me and applied for me on 6th jan and on the same day

evening i got my appointment confirmation for police certificate

on 7th i reached regional passport office for my appointment with all the documents stated

by the agent

where on first counter i got my coupen code and there was 3 counters A B and C

on A counter i got my photo clicked and documents submitted

On B counter the person told me that you will need to submit an affidavit coz you are

married and you dont have your spouse name on your passport although i had a nikah nama

which is a marriage proof for me he didnt accepted it alone he said you will need to submit

and affidavit which is annexure D along with your nikah nama

i then told my agent that they are asking me annexure D then my agent told me to come

tommorrow i will make it for you dont worry

on 8th jan again i gone for my Police certificate at regional passport office with all my

documents where they have given me a receipt stating police verification is needed

i told my agent about this then he suddenly backed of now stating for that you will need to

struggle at your nearest police station now to get it done

then on 8th jan itself my file was reached at my nearest police station

on 9th i directly gone to meet police verification officer to get it done immediately

he confirmed me that he will do it in 2days dont worry please submit all the required

documents

i submitted all the documents then and there and on 11th jan my police verification was

done at my home by his officer visit

but after that i thought it was done i waited for 2 days but was calling the officer many

times and going at police station as he was not picking up my call he then told me after 2

days that his senior police officer sign is pending so before that he cannot forward the

file to regional passport office

every day i use to go to police station asking whether it is done or not but every time the

officer told me that the sign is pending i even told him do you need money he said no he

does not have it in his hand to get the sign done coz the senior officer is busy

then after 2 weeks of my struggle my dad got a reference through which i got a sign talking

directly to senior officer explaining her how imp it is for me to get this verification done

i got the file singed by her and then on 18th jan i got sms to collect the Police

certificate

on 19th jan i got my police certificate in morning and that day it self i submitted it at

Visa centre

on 21st jan i checked my online status of visa application which stated issued i was still

confused and also got email to collect my passport which is returned form consulate to VAC

centre

on 22nd jan 2016 i reached VAC centre to collect my passport with a copy of my pancard

waited in a queue for my turn and then i collected my passport on which there was a visa

stamped for USA for 10 years that was the day all my hard work got success

First of all, thank you guys for helping with a quick checklist of possible questions for my B1 visa interview. It did help me a lot, and i finally made it through.

Day 1 - OFC was pretty straight-forward and quick. Spent about 10mins and was free thereafter. I reached 30mins prior to my slot, and they allowed me to go through.

Here is my actual experience from 28th Jan, 2016.

Day 2 - Visa interview at the consulate @ 10am. I reached at 9am IST itself considering traffic & fog in Delhi.

The initial phase is pretty straight where the barcode from OFC is scanned, thereafter a metallic check is done, followed by fingerprint re-verification. All process completed within 20-25 mins.

Thereafter proceeded to the VO area for the interview and got slotted pretty quickly owing to the long waiting queue at 1 of the counters.

VO # 45ish year old American who spoke brilliant hindi.

VO # Good Morning Sir, can I have your passport.
Me # Ofcourse, Good Morning to you too.

VO # You work in YYYY company?
Me # Yes i work in YYYY company.

VO # Where are you going & why?
Me # YYYY city, in YY state and going to attend Business Summit.

VO # What does YYYY company do?
Me # Explained in exact 20 words confidently.

VO # Which city is your company located in US?
Me # YYYY city

VO # What do you do in YYYY company?
Me # Explained in 10 words exactly.

VO # How long is your trip?
Me # Arrival on this date, departure on this date so overall ZZ days.

VO # What is your monthly take home salary (this was asked in HINDI)?
Me # RS AAAA/ month (i told the exact amount i got in my salary account).

VO # How long have you been working in YYYY company?
Me # B+ years

And golden words were heard -- Thank You Sir, your Visa is approved. You can go now.

I feel that a lot of times people either scare you, or make you nervous. I frankly feel all is an eyewash as the atmosphere is not that troubling at-all. Few things to share with everyone here.

# I was NOT dressed in a suit, but wore a jacket though had seen quite a few with coats & tie all around.

# I was not fearing the outcome, but wanted to prove my genuine requirement, so carried all docs, though was not asked for a single document.

# I was not slouching on the desk, but standing upright with my hands on the deck.

# I maintained eye contact with the person all through-out.

# I was full of confidence seeing people getting their visa approved or even rejected as you can easily gauge the reasoning for approval/ rejections.

I feel that whatever the outcome be, one must try to present their case individually and be prepared for the list of these questions i shared above as these came up from the possible 15 questions I had thought about myself.

Hope this experience helps people ahead, and by simply believing in yourself, you can even crack this nut like a 1st timer like me did.

please I have an explanation, I am a physical therapist from Egypt, I want to attend a conference in USA held in December this year, my question is which kind of visa should I apply for ? and do I have to register to the conference and take the invitation letter with me to the interview of the visa or should I go through the interview and tell the consular officer that I am going to register to the conference after taking the visa ? thanks a lot .

Im working for US air force/NATO in Afghanistan have also visited Saudi & other country on job purpose carrying letter of authorization to enter country issued by US & NATO government .....i want to visit USA for holiday & to see my friend.....my visiting days will no longer than 14 days ......i have invitation letter from my friend & some valid supporting doc & i have recognition letter from US air force....my company is ready to provide the doc stating about the job ,employment & other things....can any one advise whether Im eligible or do in need more supporting things to produce in interview
