B1 visa approved @Madrid
Dear all,
I'm located in Spain and therefore I had my interview in Madrid on 12/06/15. I was supposed to fly for a conference in the USA and my travel date was 27/06/15. Interview went well, the VO asked questions such as why do you want to travel to US, how many days are you gonna stay, where do you work, what is your profession, etc. And after that he said, "Your Visa has been approved. You'll receive your passport in 10 days". I was very happy to hear that. I thought I'd receive my passport before 26/06 and could go to the Conference.

However, the story didn't end well. My Visa was issued only by 26/06 and was delivered on 30/06. I'm very very disappointed and sad. I guess this is not normal, right? This is due to the technical difficulties which lasted for two weeks?

As a hint, try to be relaxed and answer the questions brief and simple. I was not dressed formal, was quite casual that day. Wish you all the best luck!
Regards

B1 visa Approved @Chennai
Many thanks to the forum!
Mine was Business Visa (B1) and was scheduled from Chennai location on 18th June 2015.
I reached OFC center around 10:30AM, I had an appointment scheduled for 11:30 AM but got a chance to enter the OFC center at 10:40 AM and the entire process got completed within 20 minutes, which includes scanning, document verification and finger prints.
At OFC they asked me questions like:-
Q) What’s your complete name?
Q) What’s your date of birth?
(At OFC they asks questions on the information available in passport to validate that you are the same person or not.)
Then on next day I went to consulate for Visa interview and reached there by 10:40 AM, here also I had appointment scheduled at 11:30AM, and after normal documents check outside the gate got chance to enter the premises by 10:45AM and was finished with the entire process in around 30 minutes, as there were queues inside the building.
After finger print verification process got into the final queue for visa interview, before me two guys got visa approved so I was bit happy & confident.
Here are the questions:-
VO- Good Morning! How are you doing?
Me- Good Morning. I am good how about you.
Vo- Hmm Good. Can I have your passport please?
Me- yeah.
VO- Why you want to travel US?
Me- To attend business meetings and technical transitions.
VO- You work for which organization?
Me- I replied with my company name.
VO- Is he your employer or client?
Me- My employer.
VO- How long is your stay in US?
Me- X weeks.
VO- Why so long?
Me- I explained him about the reasons for the long travel duration.
Vo- Ok. Then the golden words----"Your VISA is approved."
Me- Thank you!
My visa interview last for around 50 seconds.
Stay confident make eye contact with VO while you talk and a smile on your face.
Be there at least 30-40 minutes before your scheduled time
Carry passport size photo, and try NOT to carry mobiles, laptops or any other electronic devices.
Don't be nervous if person before your gets rejected.

Try to be simple, calm & confident which will help you to win the game.

Not received passport (Interview on Jun 11 - Chennai)
Hi,

I had my B1 interview on June 11th @ Chennai consulate. Due to the technical issues there was delay in issuing visa.

On June 24th, my visa status in US Dept of state website shows ISSUED and till Thursday (25th), the us travel docs website for passport tracking was showing that the passport is with Consulate. But now it shows "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted."

Just wanted to know if any one else in the same boat! Has any one got back the passport with similar timeline?

B1 interview on June 16th
Dear Friends,

I have attended my interview on June 16th. I am still waiting for the passport and Visa. I am aware that there are technical issues in processing. But people who attended the interview after me, i.e, on JUne 18th have their status changed in passport tracking to "ISSUED". But my status is not changed. It simply says that my passport is with the embassy.

Secondly, what will be the B1 visa validity. I have applied for the first time to the USA. I have travelled 4 times to Singapore and once to Thailand.

Cheers,
Prabhu
