Hi all,
I had my B1 visa interview yesterday, i.e. 18th Dec 2015 at US Embassy, New Delhi.
My appointment was at 9:00AM. I reached there around 8:10AM and came out by 9. Below is the interview experience:
VO: Good morning, how are you?
ME: Good morning, I'm good. How are you?
VO: Good. Passport please.
ME Here.
VO: Purpose of your visit?
ME: Business meetings and requirements gathering.
VO: Who'll you meet there?
ME: My company's senior account director[Told his name and designation]
VO: Who's your employer?
ME: XYZ
VO: Who's your client?
ME: ABC
VO: So your company is making you travel to US just to meet another employee of your company?
ME: No no, I'll be attending meetings with the client to analyze their current system and design architecture for the new system.
VO: How long have you been working with your company?
ME: It's been 7 months now.
VO: Oh, that's a very short time. Your company doesn't have any senior resource for this?
ME: That's because I'm SME of my project and I also hold professional certification.
VO: Okay. Your visa is approved. Have a nice trip.
ME: Thank you.
And I only had a smile on my face while saying thank you at the end. Rest of the time I was really nervous and couldn't put up a smile.
Just be confident in whatever you say and you should be good.

Finally day came
17/11/2015
I had interview at 9am so left room at 8am entered in queue after 30 mins they allowed us to go into consulate hall
There are somany counters with full of noise finally I got counter number 25

Note: I reached early there by 1:00 PM. I was taken IN by 1:45 PM
Receptionist: Good Afternoon
Me: Good Afternoon
Given my passport, DS-160 and Appointment Confirmation
She applied one barcode sticker back side of Passport
I left reception and go Ahead, One guy was scanning recently applied barcode and given me
token number. I was waiting in seating area and checking the LCD for my turn.
Once I got my turn I went to counter mentioned in LCD.
OFC: Passport please
Me: Passport Given
OFC: Put left hand fingers, right hand fingers and Thumbs and Live Photo (It was taken one by
one for left, right and thumb and live photo)
Me: It’s done. And I came out.
It is so smooth process..

Note: I reached there by 07:00 AM (So early, but I don’t know I will reach that much early, I
just want to make sure I am on time. Not required to go to much early just go 1 hour early as
there is long Q. I memorized all mostly asked questions and answers and documents ordered
So whenever document asked then I can give it easily)
Me: In Q outside the consulate, Scanned Barcode (applied on back of Passport at OFC). And
going inside for seating area.
Me: Waiting in seating area. Then go ahead to consulate
Me: Take out all thing you have in pockets except money (Make sure that you don’t carry any electronics devices or any other metals or bag) by India security guys. Checked my body and I collected my things from scanning area.
Me: Advised to be in Q
Indian Security Staff: Taken my passport for again barcode scanned by US staff. I again joined
the Q for interview process and manual.
My Turn comes: I got counter (window) number but I don’t remember that I think that was xx.
I was standing behind giving interview person and keep distance as instructed by staff.
Me: Good Morning Sir,
VO: Didn’t replied,
VO: Your passport please.
Me: I gave him passport
VO: Why are you going to USA?
Me: I didn’t clear his voice. So I said sorry. He repeated question again. I am going to USA for technical discussion and Requirement gathering.
VO: Which company are you working for?
Me: I am working for xxx infotech Pvt. Ltd.
VO: How long have you been working with?
Me: Since last x year and x month
VO: Why only you?
Me: I am working in this project since last x year. I am aware about the system. He interrupted
and asked next question.
VO: What will you do there?
Me: I will meet analyst team there for understanding requirement.
VO: Your VISA is approved
Me: Sorry I didn’t get his voice clearly. He repeated and I told “Thank You” I left the counter
immediately.

I had applied for three times to get B1 visa and third time I succeed in it.I joined my new company few months back in July and there was new project come up for that I need to go to USA for 4 week so I applied B1 visa for that..With me there was 3 more guys we all applied together...
1 Interview was on 5 October ..
Interviewer was lady on counter no 13
She asked four question.
Ques 1:What do you want to go to US?
Ans:I answered to attend training and technical discussion with my client.
Ques 2:What is name of your company?
Answer:&&&&&&&
Ques 3:Is it Indian based or American Based?
Indian Based
Ques 4:When did you join the company?
I told 2 months back.
and The lady tell me your visa is rejected..
Second attempt on 19 oct. It.It was Monday..
Again there was lady and She just asked me two question.
Ques1:Why do you want go to USA?
I told her to attend annual business meeting and technical discussion with my client.
Ques 2:Why u have come for second time in really small period of time??
I told her that this meeting is really important for the project and I need to be there for 2 weeks and after that I will come back to India and work here only...
But She did not understand and told me apply again.
I was really angry and really shattered..Thinking again and again what they want....
By God grace My manager give me one more chance and I applied again..
This time Interview was on 27 Oct..(Tuesday)
This time was again a lady and timings was 8 am in morning.
I was the first person in the queue for Interview

I answered to attend annual business meeting for my project for 2 week and after that I will come back to India and work here in India itself.
Question:U have been rejected twice in short period and u are coming again??
I told the lady importance of the project and why it is important for me to go there.
Question:Why they have chosen you??
I told her based on previous experience and skills they have chosen me and also I was hired only for this project.
Question:Why it is necessary to go for live training rather do training on remote??
I told her the importance of tranning and imporatnce of project.
Question:For how much time you are working for this company?
I told her the exact time and also they had hired me for this project only.
Question:After coming back you will train your team member for this training?
I said yes I will supervise them....
And at last Golden Wordsss come...

I have h4 visa and currently residing in INDIA. My husband has also not yet travelled on H1B to US. Now my employer is applying b1 for me. Can I have h4 & b1 visa together.? Or h4 will get cancelled if I am getting b1 visa?
