I-765 APPROVED 7 OCT - NO UPDATE REGARDING EAD CARD - H1B RFE DUE DEC 17TH
I filed my family based immigration petition (I-485, I-131/travel 7& I-765/employment) on May 26th, 2020. When I filed the above I was already employed and my company had sponsored my h1B which was valid till 2022.

However my company went out of business and was sold to another company in June, 2020. They wanted me to be a part of the new team however I had to apply for another H1B (which was not a part of the plan).

I applied for my 4th H1B through this new company and received an RFE on September 21st with a deadline date of December 17th. I was originally planning to wait till the end of Oct to decide if I need to respond to RFE because my family based petition was already filed and was in process. Thankfully I received I-795 approval notice with an approved date of Oct 7th.

At that point I felt comfortable with the decision to not respond to the RFE. However, tomorrow will be 1 month and I have still not received my EAD card and no update has been made on my status other than, "your case was approved'.

I will not be able to work with my current employer after Dec 17th, unless I either receive my EAD or reply to my RFE. I obviously prefer to get an EAD because the RFE response will be more paperwork for my employer/me, another financial Burden and frankly a redundant step and waste of time for the field officers who will review my RFE.

I spoke to USCIS customer service rep today and as per them there is no way to expedite printing/production of EAD once a I-765 is approved and I have to wait for 60 days to start a service request.

I need help with below questions;

- While the later is true, is the former true as well (There is no way to expedite printing/production of EAD )?

- If I am able to "Raise Expedite Request" for production of EAD cards. Please advise how I can do that because the customer rep simply refused to help me saying that this is not possible and I am having a semantic confusion.

- In a situation where I don't receive my EAD card in 60 days, i.e by Dec7th. Do you then recommend I get a lawyer and prepare for my RFE response. Note that, that will only give me 10 days to pull everything together.

- Do you recommend that I start preparing for my RFE response now and submit in December, in case I don't receive my EAD card by then. Please note that that would be extra $$ and time and paperwork.

3. Do you recommend I do not respond to the RFE and wait and focus my energy towards expediting my EAD card production, if that is an option. In which case what do I do if I still don't receive my card by Dec 17th i.e; Deadline for my RFE

I-765 & I-539 california
Hi, I sent the request to renew my I765 and I539 extension back in May. Since then, I’ve raised 2 expedite requests and 1 congressman expedite request and all have been denied. I’m 8 months pregnant and will lose my job, my insurance and my maternity benefits. I don’t know what else to do. Anyone in the same situation or timeline? Thank you for your kind help

No receipt number yet, check not cashed. EAD renewal
Hello Everyone!

I have a problem. So, I will very appreciate you for Your advices.

I tried to renew my Work permit based on Political asylum. My current EAD will expire in February 2021. I sent my documents to renew my current EAD to Texas lockbox on September, 14, 2020. Package was delivered to their PO box on September, 16. I issued my check for $410.00. I haven't receive my receipt number yet. I called USCIS customer service - They don't have my case in System. They suggested me to send email request to Texas Lockbox and find out what is happening with my case. I received an automated email from the Lockbox that they will respond within 30 business days. It is such a long period of time, and not sure if will get anything from them. I didn't make any mistakes in Form, and never received it back (if something is wrong with it).

Did I have to pay additional fee for Biometrics? Is Biometrics mandatory now? I did my Biometrics few years ago when I first requested to issue work permit.

Thank you

Waiting for biometrics appointment
Anyone in the same boat? I have been waiting for my biometrics appointment for the past two plus months (pending I-485 and I-765 @ NBC).

I understand that the ASC offices were shutdown due to COVID but is it taking so long for them to schedule appointments?
