My passport status is with orgination scan from November 7 and when i call the customer service they say that its handed over to courier..But i have not got any email confirmation till date on this. I selected the premium service and opted for home delivery..Can any1 help me on this ?

US Visa Approval
Hi all
My experience of US visa process was very good. The only drawback I see in the system is that Biometrics and Interview is scheduled on two days. Although biometrics are rechecked on day two as well.
On the second day, I reached US visa consulate on 9th Nov at 7AM and by 7:15 line began to move. There is a security check and place to sit down while you move further in the lane. Once I entered the hall, first I had to go to a window where my serial no. stamp was put behind my passport and then had to queue up in another lane at the end of which where biometrics were taken again (its for everyone, probably to cross check) and then had to sit down and look up the screen for my serial no to be called against a particular window.
And the moment came at around 9AM.
ME: Good morning sir!
VO: Good morning. Please pass on your passport sir.
VO: After a minute of detailed view of my profile on his screen, So is this the first time you are applying for US visa?
ME: Yes sir.
And then came series of questions.
VO: What is the purpose of visit?
VO: What your company's name?
VO: How many people are there in your company?
VO: Have you travelled to any other country before?
VO: What was the purpose of visit
VO: For how long were you there in XX Country?
VO: Dont you think 2 weeks are little two much for a business meeting?
ME: Gave a very satisfactory answer
VO again looked at his screen and then came the golden words " Your Visa has been approved"
Me : Cheers!
by 9:15 I was done. It made my day. Hope the above will help everyone.
My opinion:
- Stay Calm and dont get nervous even if a answer goes little haywire.
- Practice and sound genuine
- Hold your nerves and live up to the moment (not everyone gets a chance to queue up for US visa)
- Dress smartly and give more professional look (No tie/suit/blazer reqd)
- most importantly pray to god and believe in yourself.

On Nov 8th My B1 Visa got rejected. Please help me on how i can apply again for B1. I have very important training and i am only the person on floor who know about that process. Please provide your inputs on how i can reapply again.

B1 interview @ Chennai Nov 7th
Before the interview , usual steps as others have mentioned ...
One extra bit - asked to go to a specific counter since its written in my passport that I had lost my previous one. An Indian lady asking wetehr it did have any US Visa or not ? Getting an answer in negative , she checking the passport and giving permission to go ahead with remainign steps .

Hi All,
I had OFC on 18th Oct 2012. I went 1 hour early and allowed inside to finish up bio metric. I was out in 15 min! That was super fast.
Consulate interview was on 22nd Oct 2012. Answered to all questions which are common but my intended duration of stay was "2 months" for TRAINING. Consulate officer straight away rejected my visa "as 2 months is too long for training" and asked re apply in different category. But he didn't mention which category!
Later I figured out either J1 or H3 visa was RIGHT category for me!
My suggestion is never apply for more than 3 weeks in B1 (for any reason like training/ meetings etc.). You will any way get 6 months to 10 year visa even though you mention 2-3 weeks.

Passport Tracking
I attended biometrics on 19th and visa interview on the 22nd in Chennai. This was for re-stamping of my visa. I chose pick-up location as Trivandrum. I have been checking status of my passport via the automated email system, by calling the IVR system as well as emailing them. All of these give the same status as Origination Scan and they say it is at the sole discretion of the embassy. I hae my tickets booked for this Sunday as my leave ends this week. Any tips on what ti do next would be really helpful.

H1 Passport delivery
I would like to share my US visa stamping experience with everyone.
My visa class is H1 extension, and I came here for extension in one month leave.
First I could not able to get appointment in Chennai embassy within leave period, so my biometrics done in Chennai OFC and interview done in Delhi embassy on 18. Visa is approved easily and there are no major questions. While booking appointment my pickup location is Chennai OFC. Also I registered for premium courier service in New Delhi to courier to my home directly (I paid Rs.300 for that).
My visa status is changed to “Origination scan” on 19. I thought everything’s ok but problem comes after that. I didn’t get my passport till Oct-31. Till this date I called VFS customer support daily and they said same response “your passport is done with US consulate and ready to couriered”.
I email’s [email protected] and opened 5 cases and all are closed with same response. I have no clue why my passport is not couriered. I even started worried my passport is lost. My return ticket is cancelled and I have no answer to my managers when I can return.
But on 31oct I got a call from Delhi OFC and they asked me to come and pickup from Delhi OFC. I could not believe that, I fought with them for 15 min to convince them that I gave Chennai OFC for pickup. Finally they said they will send the passport to Chennai OFC office. I hope I will get passport tomorrow in Chennai OFC. I asked for why is the delay and they don’t have any answer.
I would request every one not to believe in IVR, Online tracking, VFS customer care and other automated email responses. All having same response and currently there is no process to track passport exactly. So once your status changed to “Origination scan”, please contact OFC office directly and gets the details from them. Don’t go for any other approach.

not recd passport till date
My visa got approved on 19th oct in Chennai.I was so happy but till date i didn't receive my passport.i opted courier service from pick off location Pune. The email status shows "Origination Scan from last 9 days & telephone operator says that my passport is still with Us Embassy.I don't understand where should i go .if anybody has any idea that how can i track my passport.Please share..

Interview at Chennai US Consulate for B1/B2 Visa
Had to schedule two interviews one on the 19th and the main one on the 22nd. After a lot of frisking and goin from counter to counter, I finally landed at the last counter for the final round. I was No. 3, I had taken my appointment at 7.30 am. No. 1 and No. 2 got their visas approved. Next came my turn. I wished him. Fwlg were the queries from him:
1. Which place are you goin to visit?
2. What is the purpose of yr visit?
3. What was yr previous job?
4. What are you doin presently?
5. Yr sister is there? (My bro in law was sponsorin me)
6. Do you hv children? To this I replied, Yes, four of them.
That's it!! He says yr visa is approved, you will receive it in 3 days time, although I hvnt recd it yet, probably because of these holidays this week.
I thanked him profusely and left. I had gone to the extent of doin a lot of file work, but he never asked me for anythin. My advice, Be truthful and pray to the Almighty offerin yrself, yr interview, includin the counsellor who is goin to interview you, yr visa approval etc. bcoz that's the way I hv been prayin all these days.
