I had my interview on October 4th. B1 visa approved without hassles (unlike my previous experiences and others' experiences).
I opted for passport delivery. I received it today (Oct 18) after two weeks of wait. The automated email status has just said "Origination Scan" since Oct 11. Out of curiosity I checked just checked the status again. It still says "origination scan".
So ignore the email status and just wait.

passport delay
We attended L1B visa interview on 11th oct , we have availed for premium 'passport delivery service but still we have not received the passports, we checked over email and status says "origination scan" .Please share if any one have the same experience? any idea about the situation?

I had a pleasant experience with the entire interview process.
First of all, My company is part of the BEP program. So we requested looked for an appointment on 9th October and the next available slot was 16th October. We had to block 2 appointments 1.) at OFC for Biometrics and 2) for the interview.
October 15, 2012. - 8:30 AM appointment time. (OFC - Gowra Grand, few blocks away from the embassy)
I went there by 8:15. Usual security checks and them walked straight to the counter. Trained staffs guide you well through the entire process. Gave my finger prints and they took a picture.
Finally the person made a OFC stamp on my DS160 and Appointment letter. and thats it. I am out by 8:30 AM.
October 16, 2012 - 9:30 AM appointment.
I was there an hour early. I was let in 15 minutes prior to the appointment time. First the security checks the appointment letter and lets you into the embassy.
We were asked to wait in the waiting area. A representative recorded our presence in his roster sheet and scanned the barcode from the DS160. then he let us in through the Security gate.
Security gate - Remove, belt, walltet, watch and anything metal. (Allowed to wear the chain and rings)., then the usual metal detector checks and you are in. (No sealed envelopes, Pendrives or CDs)
Walked in to the first counter, a lady arranged all my documents in order, stapled it and guided me to a counter for document verification. The person in the counter verified everything and asked me to go to counter 9 for verifying Biometrics. Left had 4 fingers and you are done.
Next guided to waiting area where they give you the token and staple the same to the passport with other documents.
My token flashes and I go to counter 13.
VO - Hi
Me - Hi, How are you.
VO - I am doing well thanks, How about yourself?
Me - Good thanks.
VO - Why are you travelling to the US?
VO - Whom do you work for?
VO - How much do you make?>
VO - Oh, I see that you lost your passport, did it have a U.S Visa?
VO - Have you travelled outside India ever before?
VO - How long have you been with your company?
VO - What did you do before you joined this company?
VO - Your visa is approved. We have new methods to track your passport (Hands out a Passport trackng instructions sheet),
VO - Thank you, You have a good day.

I wanted to thank immihelp for helping me train on my Visa interview.
OFC Experience:
They took the passport, ds-160 receipt and interview invitation letter printout.
The biometric scanning took several times to be perfect.
OFC Fellow told me to come with 2 photograph for next day interview.
US Consulate experience:
I reached 15 mins before my scheduled time.
After checking passport, DS 160 receipt, invitation letter, visa payment receipt i was given toke no.
Questions asked in interview:
1) Why are you going to US?
Ans: training
2) Can you explain what training?
3) How many weeks you will be in training?
3) Whcih company you were there when your last visa got rejected? Any specific reason for rejection.
4) Are you married?
5)Can you show your invitation letter to US?
Then he said your visa is approved.

3) Be courtious to Visa Officer?
4) Visa rejection is not the end of the world.

passport tracking.
I had my interview on 5th oct and I had not got the passport till 16th. The status was saying origination scan.
Today we found out from Blue Dart that the passport had reached them on 8th itself. But for tracking number, it was not the passport, it was some number starting with AWS or AWD.
I suggest goto the passport collection center and ask them to search thoroughly. They are no longer using passport number for tracking.

VISA went on very smooth, most of the questions similar to what is discussed in this forum.
I gave my interview on Oct 9th and the VO said i will get the passport within a week. It's almost a week now, and still the status in "origination scan", i had booked my tickets for next week, anybody has experiences of delays?

Passport Status Origination Scan
Hi Guys, Please help with your experiences
I attended Visa Interview for B1 in Chennai US consulate at 07.30 AM. The visa got approved then i paid Rs 300 to Bluedart guys in Consulate for the pick up and delivery of my passport. But from last 8 days i am getting the status as 'Origination Scan' and moreover the Call center gives some absurd answer and they also just check what we can access easily. they dont have any additional information.
Guys anyone please let me know , what best i can do in this situation. Thanks a lot in Advance

Passport not received after almost a week.
Can someone from Mumbai post there experience of having received the passport back after successful interview.
I had my interview on Wednesday 3rd October and still have no clue about my passport.
There call center is hopeless and equally helpless.

B1 Processing sucks
I went for a visa interview on 10th October and I was informed that my visa is approved and need to check with the call center for more information. The call center people are really poor in their skills, they seem to have NO information. They gave me an email address which automatically replies the status of passport and that software sucked the life out of me. Every time i sent a mail, it gave funny replies like picked up, origination scan, in transit with post and no one on the planet earth knows what these terms are but for the software designer. No other country has so many problems of Visa. Only god save people who want to travel to USA.
