Adding the current education in the online application
Hello all,
I am a going to apply for Visa under category B1 for attending a conference in Miami. I am a second year student reading for a B.Sc. in IT in my country. My question is how am I going to add it to the online application as it only allows to add the range of date prior to the day of submission? This is 4 year degree and if I'm to add it I will have to add the last day as a future date which is not possible.

Today I had my PA interview.
I got my passport status as "The current status of your passport is Picked Up."
What does it mean?

I was asked to give ans for the following questions:
1. who is your employer?
2. Who is your client
3. what is your highest qualification?
4. is it a 3 year or 4 year course?
5. Have you read the pamphlet?
Thats it and the VO told my visa is approved.

My interview was on 27th SEP in chennai. Here is the my experience.
was trying for BI/B2 for my official travel to US for two months.
VO: good morning sir,
Me; Goodmorning sir, how r u?
VO: good. Give me your passport.
Me: Given
VO: Whats your name
Me: told him my Full name with spelling.
VO: What do u do??
Me: An engineer
VO: Working for??
Me: Told my comp name.
VO: what r u gonna do in US
Me: Training
VO: how long wil u stay?
Me: 2 months.
VO: 2 months??
Me: Yes sir.
VO: Whats the nature of ur wor??
ME: explained my duties.
VO: Which location are u going to be in us??
Me: California, Las vegas.
VO: ok
VO; Ur family??
ME; explained about my family.
VO: are u married??
Me: has fixed on 4th week of dec.
VO: will u come back??
Me; I have to come back for my marriage.
VO: ok.
VO: we have approved ur visa. u wil get it in 4 days.
Me: Thank you sir,
VO: U r welcome.
Note: it was lasted for ten minutes. and approved. U have to be very specific when u talk to them. example tell them exact date and duration of stay if they asked. talk loudely. eye contact is important. do not be nervous. keep smile. main point is you have to convince VO that u will come back from us after ur work. tell them that u have strong connection in india. Ex; u have parent who depends on u, Marriage is fixed after coming back from us. or u have business here etc. i have told them that my marriage is fixed on 25 th dec. even i did not think about marriage. this is only to convince them.

Do you guys have the OFC helpline number provided,by that guy who collected 300/- for passport deliver at our mailing address.
For last 3 days, the number he gave says 'Switched off'.

Passport track status Origination scan
Guys,
Even though the status is showing Origination scan on your passport status, give a try to collect it from your nearby OFC center.. provided you have chosed OFC center as pick up location. The same status was showing for last three days, it was available at OFC..once the passport was picked up...it changed the status to picked up. Possibly this info might help you.

I had appeared for my interview on 01st October, been tracking the status of my passport since Tuesday, seen multiple status messages from origination scan, to in transit with post, etc etc. very cryptic and not really making sense at all. Any one know better?

B1B2 visa
I went for the interview at Chennai. My allotted time was morning 7:45 on September 25. Arrived at the counslate about 30 minutes earlier. It was like frenzy at the counslate even people with 10 am time were in the que. But those guys were thrown out of the que by the security guys. After security checks, a hand biometric scan was taken. Also make sure all of carry a rs 100 with u as they may say that our photo might not be in us visa standard and we must take a new one. But dont worry there is a photo clicking oppurtunity within the counslate.
Ok then here are my interview questions.
VO: How are you?
ME: Fine thank you. Hw r u?
VO: Fine, You are working in XYZ company right?
ME: Yes.
VO: What do they do?
ME: It is a manufacturer of xyz products and systems.
VO: Great. Why are u going to US?
ME: to attend meeting and discussions at our head office on our xyz product line.
VO: Ok, what is your post.
ME: Explained my post.
VO: Experience
ME: xx years
VO: OK, You are good to go to US.
My advice: guys dont be nervous. Dont flutter, Dont over do the awnsers.
