Interview at Chennai US Consulate for B1/B2 Visa
Had to schedule two interviews one on the 19th and the main one on the 22nd. After a lot of frisking and goin from counter to counter, I finally landed at the last counter for the final round. I was No. 3, I had taken my appointment at 7.30 am. No. 1 and No. 2 got their visas approved. Next came my turn. I wished him. Fwlg were the queries from him:
1. Which place are you goin to visit?
2. What is the purpose of yr visit?
3. What was yr previous job?
4. What are you doin presently?
5. Yr sister is there? (My bro in law was sponsorin me)
6. Do you hv children? To this I replied, Yes, four of them.
That's it!! He says yr visa is approved, you will receive it in 3 days time, although I hvnt recd it yet, probably because of these holidays this week.
I thanked him profusely and left. I had gone to the extent of doin a lot of file work, but he never asked me for anythin. My advice, Be truthful and pray to the Almighty offerin yrself, yr interview, includin the counsellor who is goin to interview you, yr visa approval etc. bcoz that's the way I hv been prayin all these days.

If you have not received the passport with in 5 business days... just check with the OFC pick up location which you have mentioned when you scheduled the visa appointment... Please don't relay on the automated email system, IVR or the customer care...

Officer took passport, said visa is granted, when got passport, stamp missing
I went for visa interview, it held well and the VO said that your visa has been granted and kept my passport with him. I returned happily.
Today I got my passport from VFS, when I checked the passport – got surprised and amazed that there was no Visa stamped on passport.
I checked with customer care and told them entire case. They created a request number and will review the entire case and respond within 1-2 business days.
The officer has not rejected my Visa at that point of time and even when i received the courier, there was nothing except my passport and attached DS-160 form (stapled at a counter prior the interview counter on the day of interview).
I really dont have any idea what happened wrong... is my passport really got rejected for visa or is there any error from visa officers....
Please guide a way ahead

Not yet received the passport
First of all thanks to immihelp for tips on visa interview. I went for L1B visa interview on Oct16th at chennai and approved. Really this immihelp blogs helped me to make myself calm at interview though my kid is not well at that day. Everyday i am checking the passport statuc by sending a mail to [email protected] but it says ORGINATION SCAN for the past 1 week. I am not sure when will i get my passport since i planned to travel by Oct 26th. I opted the drop-off location pick up than express courier, please help me how to track my passport. Thanks in advance.

2 weeks since b1 interview,passport not yet received
I attended my interview for b1 on 5th Oct in delhi and post approval opted for a premium courier service to my mumbai office address. Its been 2 weeks and I havent received neither passport nor a mail from consulate.When tried to check the status through automated mail it says different status each.
Is anyone else facing similar situation? I observed that people who attended interview betn 26th sep and oct 7th are facing delay in receiving passport through courier. But not sure if that is what is making my case too delayed.

My B1 experience

First of all don’t feel nervous and tense. Go with a calm and cool mind. Whatever the VO asks reply to that only don’t elaborate the answers just give straight forward answers confidently.
Reach 2hrs before your appointment time to avoid last minute heart burns. There will be longs queues.

Finally got the stamped passport back after so much of hassle
Hello everyone,
My mom went for Mumbai OFC appointment on 3rd, which took her around 2 hours to get her finger prints and photo right. She had the visitor visa interview appointment on 4th Oct which took her around 2.5 hours due to lots of people out there. She got the visa in this second attempt and we thought that was the end to our troubles. We went ahead and booked her tickets for 17th Oct.
But all our happiness was in vain when we realised she didnt receive passport until today. We have been getting the status Origination Scan. Had to spend bucks to postpone her trip and she will have to travel alone now.
Now the most interesting part: The status showed origination scan, we were calling the call center, using email to get status everyday twice, but everytime it was origination scan. On 17th Oct, my dad went to OFC mumbai to check whats up with it only to get the answer that its still with embassy. He raised a concern that it has been there for so long and that female somehow felt bad and offered to call some US office and check. She found that the passport was already sent to blue darts office on 8th oct. Dad asked for the docket/tracking number which she found out and finally Dad confirmed with the Blue Dart's office and the passport was there since 8th. This has frustated us alot, apart from the unnecessary monetory loss, the mental torture that each one of the family members went through is immense. My brother went to blue dart's office and picked up the passport today.
For all those who are seeing origination scan status, I would suggest you to please visit the OFC you have went to, check for the passport status. Just dont believe on the email and keep waiting. Even now I checked the status and the call center rep is telling me its still with embassy..lol.
