thanks a lot immihelp as i have done my visa interview preperation only from this site.. i had B1 Visa Interview on 6th aug at Mumbai..
my time slot was 7:45 AM and i reached there around 7:00AM ... approx 300 people were standing in a queue .. and i would suggest to keep an umbrela (small is allowed) in rainy season.
after Security check , Token collection and Biometric test . i was waiting for my token number to display on screen.
approx ater an hour waiting my token number was displayed....

based on my experience i would like to suggest you that please work on purpose and have a specific written agenda of your visit. dot get nervous with the rejection rate as every case is the unique case and they are not sitting to reject you... best luck ...

Got B1 Visa in Pink slip
Hi,
I have attend B1 visa interview June 14 at chennai...
Interview going on like below...
1.What company your are working now?
2.How long years working this Company?
3.Purpose of visit?
4.Staying Period ( Here plz dont say more than 4 weeks)
5.What project you are goign to discuss?
6.What is that? ( need explain the project more details)
7.Are you going to work? ( i answered no..not at all)
then consulater given me for pink slip and said need some administrative processing from my side and said go to another counter.
Another one indian lady ask some question like below
1.What is father & mother name?
2.How many brothers and sisters? where are they living?
thats all and india lady said your visa is grannted but we need some administarive processing so it will take 8 - 12 weeks.
and also they taken my passport.
then asked some of my friends and serach some site why pink slip given, they answered your name is included common muslim name tats y they given pink slip. yes my name is included (mohamed khan)
Finally god grace i got my passport with visa for 10 years multiple entry exactly 8 weeks finished.

Received Date : 03-Aug-2012
Location : Chennai.
So dont worry who are all got pink slip....you will get visa which they mentioned weeks finished..

I am sharing my interview experince in Chennai US Consolute.
I reached 1 hour before of my schedule. People were standing in the long queue.
Reached outside counter shown my interview letter and got the token. Went inside, another counter they collected my documents. The toekn number displayed in the screen. My turn was started.
Me: Good morning sir
VO: Good Morning
VO: Can i have ur passport
Me: Yes. (Passport and DS160 conf given)
VO: Whats ur company name
Me: I told my company name
VO: What reason you are travelling to US.
Me: I explained brifely about the Business Meeting and discussion.

B1/B2 got approved (after 1 rejection a year ago)
I am visiting USA to attend a business conference in San Francisco
In 2011, I had applied for VISA for the same conference and got rejected.
Finally, My B1/B2 visa got approved with 10 years validity on 27th July -2012 at Mumbai consulate in second attempt after 1 year
Following are the questions and answers

Me: Sure. ( and gave here passport )
VO: Which company are you working with Sir?
Me: XYZ as MD
VO: How long are you working with XYZ?

My understanding for success:
Your designation must match your visit purpose, a good salary / strong tie-ups with home country for ex. Family, children, property etc. should help. A clear message must be passed on that you don’t have any intensions to work over there now or in future.
Every case is unique, so don’t think about the counter numbers or the results of other person in front of you.
I strongly suggest from the time you enter the consulate until you meet the Visa Officer, just focus on only yourself…your preparation, don’t try to discuss with others and their experiences or try to get more information… because there is a risk of somebody scare you with some information. If you believe you are very strong and only will take the positives and ignore the negatives then you can talk to others.
But the key is…just focus on your case ONLY and be CONFIDENT.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you are tensed, nervous…do some breathing exercise…take a deep breath, hold for some time, and release slowly…repeat this until you are comfortable.

b1 visa denied twice
I went to the consular twice at different times on different dates. Below is the interview. What are reasons for denial. Vc. So ur student. Me. Yes vc. Going for conference? Me. Yes. Vc. Your role and benefits? Gave role. I was denied bcoz i was student, yet i was both working and student. Why was i denied?

VO: Can I have your Passport and Visa application?
Me: Sure.. (and handed over to him)
VO: Which company you work for?
Me: Told him the company name
VO: What you are and since how long you are associated with this company?
Me: I am Sr. SE and working since 6 months
VO: What is your annual income?
Me: I told my CTC per annum
VO: Did you bring any salary documents?
Me: (I was little confused which one I should show him... either bank statement or pay slips) Said yes and opened up my folder... to show him the payslips
VO: Can I have them?
Me: Sure.. (gave him the 3 latest payslips)
VO: Looking at my pay slips and thrown another question to me - Are you married?

B1 visa rejected
I attended B1 visa interview at Mumbai consulate on 15th June 2012. I was denied a visa. These were the questions asked:
(The VO was a neegro women, looking very restless and stared at me as though i'm an untouchable!!!)
Me: Good morning.
VO: GM, ur passport and interview letter pl...
Me: Gave these 2
VO: Y r u travelling to US?
Me: I'll be going there for advanced product training of our products.
VO: How long u r gonna stay there?
Me: 28 days
VO: Don't you think 28 days r too long?
Me: Yup, but i need to come back within 15 days coz i have a family and 20 days old daughter.
(She didn't listen to this, just hearing)
VO: Do u have any travel agenda?
Me: I showed BEP letter, invitation letter and training plan
VO: I need to c something official.
(Of course these documents r official, i'm not sure wat she was looking for)
Me: Ya these r indeed official, see d letterhead.
VO: These still dont look official, anyway, huh......!! (Silence for 2 mins, was typing something in her system)
VO: What does test services mean (it was written in training plan)
Me: It means tat our products which v design will b tested there.
VO: R u gonna participate in that?
Me: No, i'll only be witnessing.
VO: U'll be doing wat?

Do u think travelling abroad alone is enough for visa to be issued? there shud always b a first time. can anyone pl guide me wat i need to present for 2nd time interview?
