First time H1b stamping at Hyderabad
Thanks everyone for posting their experiences which helped me to prepare for all kinds of possible scenarios. Finally time has come to share my experience.
My Case : First time H1-b stamping after 29 months STEM OPT on Masters. Petition picked on April-2017 lottery and approved in Sep-2017 after single RFE.
Aug 20 : Finger prints completed. Had some issues on DS-160, had to submit new one. Was little bit tensed but staff suggested outside internet shop will help to submit new DS-160 (It took around 15 minutes). Fingerprints completed with new DS-160.
Aug 21 : Visa Interview @Hyderabad
VO : Does YYYY is your employer?
Replied : Yes
VO : Do you work in YYYY location or client location?
Replied : Client Location.
VO : Who is your client?
Replied : AAA but it was recently acquired by BBB.
VO : He asked again BBB name for confirmation and was searching for something!!
Replied : Do you wanna see official press release of the acquisition?
VO : Not required, Thanks!!
VO : What do you do?
Replied : Senior DBA
VO : Highest education qualification?
Replied : Masters
VO : Your visa approved!!!
It was hardly 2 minutes interview!!
Present Status of my case shows : Administrative Processing
As per Visa tracking status "If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days". I hope I'll get Passport in next few days without any hurdles!!

H1B Dropbox/Interview August 2018 Mumbai Consulate
Hello Everyone,
My case at Mumbai Consulate:
August 13th - Dropped my passport and other needed docs at the visa application center
August 14th - Visa status changed to " Administrative Processing"
August 16th - Got an email that my passport is ready for pickup.
August 19th – After I received the Passport there was 221g green slip in that and it was marked that I need to appear for interview.
August 20th – I went for Interview. The very first thing Visa officer told me he is not able to verify my Master’s degree. Then he asked me what you do and your Employer does which I told him. After that he told me again that he is not able to verify my degree so they will need 2 more weeks to process my application and after that they will get back to me. At the end, he mentioned to me I am going to keep your passport.
He has not given me any 221g slip so I asked Visa officer to do you need any documents from me at this time, he told I don’t need anything at this point

Guys, please advise me what I need to do at this point.

Hello,
Currently I'm in OPT status(valid till 02/02/2019). My H1B got approved and it wont take effect until 10/01/2018. But I want to remain in OPT status because I got a job offer from one of the company and I'll get my Marriage based EAD with in 2-3 months.
My current employer agreed to cancel my H1B. If I cancel my H1B will I go back to my OPT status?
Please help

H1B Dropbox July2018 @ Chennai and 221g
Hello All,
Sharing my H1B Visa renewal experience.
I and my spouse were eligible for Dropbox.
07/20: Dropped passports along with DS-160 confirmation, Interview Waiver Eligibility Letter (From usatraveldocs website), Fee Payment, Photocopies of all I-797 and Photographs.
07/26: Email Notification to collect passports from the center.
07/27: Passports with Blue colored 221g slip. I-797 petition (original and copies), LCA copy, W2 and Paystubs.
(I dropped the passports and choose pick up location as "Nungambakam" Location. the next steps were pretty detailed din the Blue Slip, were told to appear for interview during weekdays except Wednesday between 10 to 11AM)
07/30: Reached embassy around 09:55. (Please plan to reach at least 30-45 mins ahead of time since the que/lines are so confusing that we might end up standing in other appointment lines)
@ 11AM reached the VISA Interview Floor (room), was directed to a counter to check initial documents. Then next counter for fingerprints and then for Interview.
@ 12PM, Below are the questions that I was asked:
How long with the company.
W2 forms
LCA
Salary
Highest education.
How did you get this job.
What do you do in your job on a day to day basis.
No.of employees in your company?
Work location.
In house or client place project.

H1b H4 (H4-F1-H4)stamping in Vancouver
Appointment booking question - "Are you travelling from another country to apply for U.S. visa?" - answered No because of PR status. Faced no issues at the appointment.
Day1 (Monday) - Appt at 9:00 AM.
IO Q1 to H1B: Are are here for renewal?
IO Q2 to H1B: Do you work for the same employer?
IO Q3 to H1B: What is you job title?
IO Q1 to both: How long are you married?
Confirmed that visa is approved. Gave a green slip that had details of how to track status.
Day 2 - Received email from Canadapost that passport was picked up by the postoffice
Day 3 - Received passport from Canada post office (only H1B passport received)
Day 4 - checked status of H4 visa - Admin processing
Day 5 - Same status but date was updated. Same day received email from Canadapost that passport was picked up
H4 passport received next working day.
Conclusion:
1)It appears COS from H4 to F1 and back to H4 took couple of days more for admin processing
2)If only date was updated (while status remained admin processing), then most likely the status will be changed to issued the very next day. (based on many experiences here on immihelp)

H1 transfer after denial
My first H1 was approved for 3 years (Oct 2017- Oct 2020) from company A.
But I lost the job in Nov 2017. So, filed another petition for new employer B in May 2018. Approval got for 1 year with I797-B notice. I came to Ottawa for visa interview as I-797B need visa interview. My visa got refused as told by US Consulate but in system it still shows "administrative processing". US Consulate says my case is in pending for review with USCIS.
Now this petition is withdrawn by employer. I never join the Company B.
My question is if I find new job now, which H1 should I transfer, first one which was for 3 years or second one for 1 year ? I mean should I transfer H1 petition from employer A to C or B to C ?
Need response asap. Thanks.
