Hi Folks,
I had an interview for H1B on 21.08.2018.
The process as follows, US consulate person was Lady.
Q1. Firstly, US consulate person said “good morning” to me.
I replied, Good morning.
Q 2. Asked my name.
I replied.
Q 3. Said, Hi to my kids and asked my daughter Do join in US elementary school, with smile?
My daughter asked to repeat question,
Q 4. Repeated the same gain.
My daughter said” YES”
Q 5. Asked to my wife, How long back married,?
Then I said she can’t understand much English
Q 6. Speaks TELUGU?
I said yes, however mean time my wife answered XX years.
Q 7 .Asked about my Employer name and said I never heard of such employer name and tell me address of employer.
I answered.
Q8. How did you come to know this company job offer?
I said, through online.
Q9.How exactly?
I said, I was searched for job.
Q10.Which job portal?
I took around 5 seconds time and said Linked in.
Q11.Asked about height degree qualification?
I answered.
Q12. Asked LLC?
I have given Form 1-797C with 3 pages, she returned last page to me.
She (US.C) took half a minute and verified in the system.
She (US.C) suddenly, has gone inside with my form and returned after 5 minutes.
Q12.Asked to provide Employer Petition.
I have given Employer potion paper.
Took half a minute verified the form and given 221 (g) white slip with case number.
Not given back the documents to me.
Does that documents not required in future??
This is my first US visa interview.
Can any body has similar experience?
My online status showing still administrative processing..

First, let me start by acknowledging that it can often be a nerve wracking experience for many. Stay calm and collected - as long as you have a legitimate case (and I believe, most do), you will be fine. It is a matter of 'when', not 'if'. I'd like to share my (fairly straightforward) experience with you. Hopefully, it will help some who may be nervous renewing their H1-B

August 7 (Tuesday) - Issued (Morning)
I picked up my passport later that afternoon. So it took only 4 business days to complete the process. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous but my hope is that people reading this realise you will get your visa stamped, even if it takes a little longer.

First time H1b stamping at Hyderabad
Thanks everyone for posting their experiences which helped me to prepare for all kinds of possible scenarios. Finally time has come to share my experience.
My Case : First time H1-b stamping after 29 months STEM OPT on Masters. Petition picked on April-2017 lottery and approved in Sep-2017 after single RFE.
Aug 20 : Finger prints completed. Had some issues on DS-160, had to submit new one. Was little bit tensed but staff suggested outside internet shop will help to submit new DS-160 (It took around 15 minutes). Fingerprints completed with new DS-160.
Aug 21 : Visa Interview @Hyderabad
VO : Does YYYY is your employer?
Replied : Yes
VO : Do you work in YYYY location or client location?
Replied : Client Location.
VO : Who is your client?
Replied : AAA but it was recently acquired by BBB.
VO : He asked again BBB name for confirmation and was searching for something!!
Replied : Do you wanna see official press release of the acquisition?
VO : Not required, Thanks!!
VO : What do you do?
Replied : Senior DBA
VO : Highest education qualification?
Replied : Masters
VO : Your visa approved!!!
It was hardly 2 minutes interview!!
Present Status of my case shows : Administrative Processing
As per Visa tracking status "If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days". I hope I'll get Passport in next few days without any hurdles!!

My case at Mumbai Consulate:
August 13th - Dropped my passport and other needed docs at the visa application center
August 14th - Visa status changed to " Administrative Processing"
August 16th - Got an email that my passport is ready for pickup.
August 19th – After I received the Passport there was 221g green slip in that and it was marked that I need to appear for interview.
August 20th – I went for Interview. The very first thing Visa officer told me he is not able to verify my Master’s degree. Then he asked me what you do and your Employer does which I told him. After that he told me again that he is not able to verify my degree so they will need 2 more weeks to process my application and after that they will get back to me. At the end, he mentioned to me I am going to keep your passport.
He has not given me any 221g slip so I asked Visa officer to do you need any documents from me at this time, he told I don’t need anything at this point

Guys, please advise me what I need to do at this point.

Hello,
Currently I'm in OPT status(valid till 02/02/2019). My H1B got approved and it wont take effect until 10/01/2018. But I want to remain in OPT status because I got a job offer from one of the company and I'll get my Marriage based EAD with in 2-3 months.
My current employer agreed to cancel my H1B. If I cancel my H1B will I go back to my OPT status?
Please help
