I-539 Form Expired
I recently applied for my wife's H-4 extension with form downloaded from /uscis.gov website. And my form got rejected by saying that I sent outdated version of the form. After that I called USCIS customer car and told them everything about it, they saying new version is not available to use but you can use old version. again sent the same rejected form to USCIS which again cost me overnight delivery.

Now I am worried as my wife's H4 has expired on 30th July 2018 but i still didn't get receipt back and she s=is still in united state.

First time H1B, 221(g)
I came to my first H1B stamping on Aug 2.
I lived in Europe for some time, so went to European embassy.
A little of my background: It is my first time H1B, my petition was straight up approved without RFE, I have wage level 1 job but in VERY well known company.
Interview was just 2 minutes:

Me: Good morning sir!
VO: Good morning.
(he was silent for some time, just watching me)
Me: Should I give you my passport or Approval?
VO: Both.
(He looked at them)
VO: So what are you going to do in US?
Me: Will work at *well known company name* on *just 3 words about project* as *my title*
VO: Oh, *well known company*!
(he clearly knew very well this company)
VO: What did you do during your last stay in the US?
Me: answered (it was just regular visit to friend)
VO asked for my CV and Job offer, I gave him.
Gave me 221(g) and told me they will contact me and it can take from month to more.
But he took my passport with him.

What will they be checking during all this time, I don't understand?!

I'm a little upset, my friends, maybe you can write me something about 221(g) that will help me to feel better.

Interview waiver program / Drop box
Hi
I would like to share my experience on Interview waiver program / Drop box / In person interview

On July 17, I have attended for drop box for Hyderabad consulate

— Went to the consulate at 9.30 AM, kept my back pack near to the locker stores (Lockers are available near to drop box location- HYD. Rs 100 per locker)
— Went to drop box location, Shown my passport and there is separate queue for drop box. Please don’t stuck in Finger print/Biometrics line
— Got a token and submitted (I797, 2 passport size photos, Passport along with Interview waiver document)
— Submitted and came back home

On July 24, I received an email for fingerprints and In person interview.

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for submitting your documents for an Interview Waiver at the VAC office Hyderabad. However, to process your visa application we would like to let you know that your case needs further review and requires you to come to the Consulate for fingerprints and interview.

Please come to the Consulate for finger prints and interview with a printout of this confirmation letter on July 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

— So finally i had to go through fingerprints and In person Interview
- I have reached little early and stood in line at 9AM. They allowed me at 930 AM for 10 AM interview.
- I entered consulate but unfortunately i had to come out during security check because security people found sealed envelope in my file and asked me to exit from consulate to unseal the envelope. I had to go out and unseal the envelope. Took nearly 30 mins to come back.
- Finally i’m inside and i asked one officer for fingerprints. He directs me one counter to collect my passport. I took passport along with blue card (If you receive any card with passport, Don’t get panic, it specifies only counter number nothing else.). For me it’s counter number 13 for interview. I gave finger prints on counter number 7 and attended interview on Counter no. 13
- The VO asked me general questions like university name, master’s in what, year of passed out, employer name, client name, salary, how many years that i have been working with the client and asked whether my H1B was approved in US or India.
- VO mentioned me the reason that they have called for interview is my F1 to H1 status was not updated properly in their systems. They just want to make sure everything is okay on their end by calling for interview.
- VO mentioned i should receive my passport with in a week.
- At first when VO mentioned that i should receive passport in a week I thought i would get it in a day or 2 for pickup.
- Later i checked my status, and found out administrative processing which made me little scared.
- Based on my knowledge Admin processing, They either want to make further verification with USCIS or they have to verification by calling you for in person interview
-
- Application id abccccc YYYY X
Case Created: 17-Jul-2018
Case Last Updated: 30-Jul-2018
Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.
For more information, please visit U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad.

The above statement made me little scared. Cause i have already booked my return flights and i haven’t got any updates until 7th day.
Remember, Alway listen what VO says, Cause they know very well when the passport would come out for pickup. According to me, VO specifically mentions that i should receive my passport with in a week
So please be patient, Wait and please do not get panic when you see admin processing.

H1B Visa appointment : lost DS160 confirmation number
we realized that we did not have our DS 160 confirmation # saved/ printed or emailed just a day before the visa interview at vancouver. we were in 2 minds if should attend but decided to take a chance. Got a new DS160 submitted and carried the confirmation print out to the consulate.

Person at the desk validating our papers was very accommodating and updating our interview appointment with the new DS160 number.

Interview was pretty simple with couple questions about employment and tenure.

Visa appointment : 7.25.2018
Shipment Updated : 7.27.2018
Passports delivered : 7.30.2018

DS-160
Hi,

Can you please suggest me ?

I have H1B visa interview on Aug 23rd 2018. Couple of days back I submitted ds-160. While filling DS-160 in the last page they asked Name of the petitioner (I mentioned My Employer name).
Next they asked

Where do u intend to work:

1) Name of employer

2) Address

3) Salary.

I mentioned My employer name and my employer address. But I work for the client (Mentioned in LCA). I heard that in the address column we have to mentioned client address. is it true?. If yes is there any way I can change now in DS-160 (I already submitted, I booked visa slot also).

Please Suggest me asap

Thank you
Sriram

Please help .. need guidance for H-4 interview
I was on L-1 in U.S. Applied for a COS to F-1 (last year, 8/15/17), recently (7/15/18) received a denial. At this point my I-94 has been expired for more than 180 days ( since 12/31/17).

Since my wife is on H-1B, I am planning to go back to India to get H-4 stamped. Any suggestion ? What should I expect ?
Will my F-1 denial be a problem ? Will my I-94 expiration, even though I recently received a denial be an issue ?

I do plan to continue my studies in U.S ?
