Hi all,
I have attended OFC on 06-Nov at 15:00 PM. the process is simple, we have reached consulate office before 1hr and not much queue, waited 30 min. they do check your passport and Appointment details. next step, register your details in the system based on DS-160, passport and Appointment details scanging through the barcode. next step would be photo session and fingerprinting. the overall process would just 5-10 min that's all for first day. they would intimate you that you would need to go for your tmr interview before 30min prior.
Next day 07 nov Visa interview, will decide your travel to USA or not based on the outcome of the interview. we have scheduled interview at 8:00 AM, reached at 7:00 AM in the queue, security will check your passport and appointment details. you will get into another screening your documents, they will help you to arrange your documents accordinglly. they will give a token and stand in the queue system. next is the final interview with US consulate will call you.

Give all your documents properlly as you got it from prv step.
VO:look at your documents and pack DS-160 and passport aside, throw all the other documents to your side.

Dependent Visa
Hi,
I attended Visa Stamping in Mumbai on 29 OCT. Both Mine and dependent got approved. Basically i'm from Cochin, and paid 300 each for the passport to be delivered at my home address.
I got the status seen moving for my VIsa and it is to be delivered today (as per ustraveldocs passport tracking site). But my wife is in Origination Scan status (The status of your passport is Origination Scan).
I have a question,
Would they have bundled both the passport together and would have send it.
Or why my wife passport alone is reading as Origination Scan.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have attended H1B consulate interview on 7th Nov 2012 the process is as below,
1. Stand in a Q outside the gate, they will check and stamps on ur DS-160 confirmation sheet.
2. After going in a receipt/token number would be given, then they will ask to go to another counter where they will ask for DS-160 confirmation, Appointment confirmation, passport and BEP covering letter and will wrap it up with a band and hands back to u.
3. Again sends to another counter for finger prints verification and U will be sent other(main) building.
4. Have ur seat and wait until your token comes up on screen along with the counter number(mine was counter # 19).
Note : Counter # 19 is the cool counter, the guy/VO is pretty cool.
Questions asked :
VO: Gooood Morning Sir.
Me : Good Morning, how are you?
VO: I am doing goooood.
VO: So ur going to <Client place> ?
Me: Yes
VO: How much is ur employer paying you in US?
Me: YYYY
VO: With a smail, I approve your visa, you will be getting ur passport in a week, Thank you.
Me: Thank you.
Note : My friend went to counter # 6(young lady) opposite to receiption, she asked some 6-7 questions like,
Which Place?Where you will be working?Who is ur client?What is your client business?Whats your salary?Highest Qualification?

when should i get the SMS or mail
Hello All,
I attended the H1B interview on 7th nov in chennai. after finishing interview they asked me that you can leave and they put my passport in one tray.
they did not say the word your passport is approved.
any status of visa should be updated via SMS or mail by 8th nov 4 PM only correct?

H4 Interview Cleared!
Earlier I was a bit apprehensive about attending the interview alone as my husband had gone to US immediately after our marriage in August. Moreover, I had quit my job only after marriage.
Fortunately, the interview was very easy to get through.
At OFC (31-10-2012):
It is a quick process and if there isn’t much crowd you’ll be let inside well ahead of time in case you arrive early. They ask for your name and your date of birth before taking the photo and fingerprints.
Interview (7-10-2012):
Just before my turn, VO noticed a person trying to get to the counter breaking the queue. This highly upset the VO and he started complaining about such behaviors.
Wait for your turn patiently without pushing forward if you don’t want the VO lose their cool.

First of all i would like to thank you for immihelp on helping me to prepare for the interview. This section was very informative for me to prepare for my interview.
OFC
------
My OFC appointment is on 5th Nov in Hyderabad. it was very smooth and hardly took 10 mins to complete the whole process. Here they are not taking finger prints for child < 7 years old.
PI
My Personal interview is on 6th Nov @ 10:30 AM. We have reached very early around 9 AM and not allowed inside. We were waiting outside and they allowed before 40 mins.
@ gate, they check your DS160, Passport and Appointment confirmation
Inside after security check, they'll ask below document and they bundle is together
1. Passport
2. DS160 confirmation
3. Appointment letter
4. BEP letter (Mine is BEP category)
5. I797
Then they asked us to stand in the queue for Bio-Metric. Once this is done, we directly went to PI. There were only one person before us but as soon as we join the queue, we were called for the interview.

VO: Which client?
Me: YYYY X
VO: Have you been to US earlier?
Me: No Sir. This will be the first time
VO: Is this your first Visa application?
Me: (I didnt get the question properly and thought he is again asking same question) No, this is my first time.

VO: What is your highest qualification?

Thanks for sharing the experiance. Let me add up my exp also here so that some can refer.
Day 1 : Biometric
1. If you have interview somewhere like 09/10/11 in morning, please plan accordingly so that you reach on time. I had interview at 10 and I had left from Powai at 8.45 only but still since the traffic was worst reached the venue at 10.
2. Ensure you get down to OFC building for Biometric and not to Trident Building where Visa Interview takes place. Me including many other gone to Trident Building. If you reach late, and if u go to wrong building , this may add up your tesions
3. Rest is just a procedure inside the OFC, there will be initially security check to check if you have any objects which was not be carried, then you will be provided a token which will have number and they will ask to wait for your turn. It is a speedy process unlike Visa Interview. In your tuen, you will provide them your DS 160 Confirmation First page, Appointment letter and passport. They will take your photograph, finger prints and seal the DS 160 Doc and attach a sticket with a barcode to your Passport. You will need to bring these to ViSA interview.
4. Before you leave, one guy will ask you if you want courrier services. You can take the form ( free ) so that you can fill it and bring during the visa interview
Day 2 : Visa
This is a very strenous procedure, really tests your patience :). I had interview at 7.45 and I had reached there at 6.30 only but the time I came out it was 11.00 !! well, strain apart, end result will be sweet. Though most of the below steps will be anyhow told there, I will just mention for your referance.
1. Initially you will asked to stand in Q where huge crowd will be there. Ensure you were standing in rite Q. There will be immigrant and non immigrant Q separately. You need to be in Non Immigrant Q. In Key the Visa representatives will check your Appoitment letter, passport and first page Petition. They wil ask you to fold it and hold, rest documents you can have in your file.
2. As first Q progresses, you will be asked to ensure you dont have any Mobile, Remote Car keys, pen drive bla bla..then once u get in you will be checked thourougly by securiy.
3. You will be asked to Sit on chairs for some time and then they will allow inside. Inside, first thing you will have to do is get your biometric verified. After that, they will attach a token number to passport and you will wait for your turn. The time to wait on chairs outside and waiting inside for your turn is where maximum time is consumed
4. When you turn comes, they will ask only Passport, Petition doc. If requiired they may ask more.
Questions asked:
a. Who is your client ?
b. What do they ( client ) do ?
c. What is your salary
and finally " You Visa is approved, Have a Good day " ..wooow. Thats it.
