H1B Visa @ Chennai
I attended my H1B Visa interview today(Feb 16) at Chennai. VO asked the standard questions like - Degree, Client Name, location, salary. He returned all my documents except the passport and the BEP letter. He then said "we will verify your petition and send the passport with in a week".

Does this means the visa is approved? or something needs to be further verified? please advise.

Before i went to the interview my documents were verified and there was a note written on my petition by the reviewer (I'm unable to read it as it was scribbled).

H1 and Dependent Stamping at Mumbai Consulate
Hi Everyone,

I really thank this forum for being so informative, as while we go for stamping we have all the pictures clear....

I had H1 and dependent Visa Stamping today at 8:15. I reached Consulate at 8:05.

They started taking in at 9:00 (though my interview was scheduled at 8:15). After security check we waited for our call from any of the Window.

At 9:20 we get a call from Window no 12 and the questions asked were:

1. What are your Job duties ?
2. How much Experience do you have in current organisation ?
3. How much time for your Marriage ?
4. Was is arranged or Love ?
5. Did your parent agreed ? (As I told Love Marriage.)

Then the golden words your Visa has been approved. It will be couriered to you within 4 working days.

IMPORTANT TIPS :
I saw many of the guys came in jeans and printed T shirts and one of the guy got rejected as well most probably for this reason (though not sure) but as per my experience, 80% decision lies in your attire and expression.

So come in professional attire and display your Company's ID as i noticed that the VO was continuosly looking at my ID.

It will defenitely help.

Wish all of you all the best who are going for stamping in future.

H1B VISA Approved at Mumbai Consulate.
Hi, Friends

Just wanted to share my H1B VISA experience @ Mumbai.

I reached the VFS office @ 0630 hours. My interview was at 0830 hours. I had Mahalaxmi Mata's Darshan and went to the VFS office at 0645. I encourage everyone to adopt the VFS Stars & Stripes Lounge service for Rs 275 each. I did have the Stars & Stripes coupons I needed to reach the VFS just 30 minutes before but I was so nervous since last couple of months I reached there almost 2 hours before. I stood in line for an hour and half then I was called into the Lounge we had a seat and were said there was a 45 minute delay in the embassy office so by the time I boarded the Stars & Stripes bus it was 0900.

Once I reached the embassy office I was standing in a seperate line as I have the Lounge facility we made to stand in seperate small queue which was very cool. Soon there was security check and then it took 15 minutes in line to get the finger prints. Everybody will be ten printed. Soon after my finger prints were done I took a seat and within 3 minutes my token number was called by te VO. You will get the token number just before standing in line for finger prints. I went to counter number 11 the VO was looking at some papers and asked me to get in..then the interview:

1) Which company are you working for?

Ans: I told the name of the company (I work full time for a American company no vendor nothing so that was cool)

2) The VO looked at the location where I worked and said "I live 5 minutes from your work place ain't that good?? we both are from same place" I said great.

3) He looked at my passport and looked at my F1 VISA and asked did you study in USA?

Ans: Yes

4) What is the degree?

Ans: Masters in Electrical Engineering.

5) Which University?

Ans: University of Bridgeport, CT

6) How was your experience at Bridgeport?

Ans: It was great.

7) Did the Degree help you in this Job?

Ans: I said yes very much because of the degree I'm having this job.

VO: Cool.

8) What is your role in the project?

Ans: I said...blah blah blah...

9) VO said the company you work for is a very prestigious company my Dad used to work there. Your VISA has been approved and your passport will be courierd. Good Luck.

Thats it my friends if you have any questions feel free to email me the interview is very easy most of the times be confident and I wish you all good luck for the interview.

Regards,

Kumar.

220(g) blue, issued H1b chennai
Hi All,

I attended H1b visa interview on 23rd Dec 2010 and VO issued 220g blue asking me further documentation.
I called my employer asked required documentation. And my Employer updates me as he is process of getting the required documents from his client.

Today my employer updated me as it will take further 15days. If I submit after 15days /month means almost 3 months after issuing the 220g, is any chance to get the visa.

Thanks

Got 221g blue slip after visa approved... at Mumbai Consulate
Hi,

I went to Mumbai consulate for my h1 renewal stamping on Feb 8th. VO asked me following questions:

- What is the purpose of your trip?
- What you do in USA?
- Have you worked last year?
- show me your w2 of 2010.
- where do you live in usa?

Your visa is approved.

That's great.

I was waiting for my passport. When I received it it had stamped visa in the passport but with another stamp saying "Cancelled without Prejudice" and had blue slip.

The document have checked points as

- A notorized list of all the petitioner's employees. The list should show all employees' names, their specific job titles, start and end dates, their individual salaries, their immigration status and which project/client they are working with.

- State unemployment wage reports, showling all wages paid to each employee in the state, for the past three quarters as filed to (this should be the actual form filed to the state authorities listing each employee and wages paid during the quarter):

- A letter from the client company sponsoring the project and a copy of the contract between the U.S. based petitioner and the client company, stating the timing, terms and agreement for your project.

- A detailed and specific description of the internal development project to which you will be assigned. Include a complete technical description of the project, employer, timeline, current status, number of employees assigned, worksite location, and marketing analysis for the final product.

Heard this first time. Not sure how it'll work out now...Any of you have faced this situation or if you know what to do now please share it.

Thanks
