Asylum Based i-485

Hi All, Question for those of you who went through the I-485(adjustment of status) interview. Do the officer go over the i-589 (application for asylum) during this interview? Or is it just some routine questions?

Guys my Travel document got approved after 22 months at TSC. ( after requesting "outside normal processing time")
I received an approval notice and another page (i 512L, advance parole) but I did not get my travel document.
will they send it to me later?
Any experienced person here?

ASYLEES should NEVER use an ADVANCE PAROLE. You applied for the wrong document on the FORM I-131, APPLICATION FOR TRAVEL DOCUMENT. There are consequences to returning to the United States as a PAROLEE with ASYLEE STATUS. If at anytime an ASYLEE or a REFUGEE is paroled into the United States, he or she will NOT regain his or her prior asylee or refugee status.

But it still does not make any sense.

Asylees SHOULD NOT use AP when entering the US.

The whole point of RTD is either you don't have a valid passport or you cannot use it.

I would caution everyone not to use your passport until you received your LPR status because before that, in theory, usage of your passport can be used as one evidence to terminate your asylum status.

After you received your LPR status, you are no longer asylee and are free to use your passport if needed.

Please stop misleading ASYLEES on the thread. LEGAL PERMANENT RESIDENTS who obtained such status through asylum is required to use a US REFUGEE TRAVEL DOCUMENT, FORM I-571 when travelling abroad until they become a US CITIZEN, and then you will be able to apply for and use a US PASSPORT. What do you think AS6 on your Permanent Residency Card means?

since derivative asylee does not has immediate life threat (as it is in case of principle asylee), can he visit Country of origin?

I put an expedite request on my case 2 days ago. Today i got an Status update" Expedite Request Received".
Now lets see if it gets approved and if it does i should be receiving my GC within 30 days

Can I ask you what the reason you stated and what documentation was provided? What chances they will approve it?

i requested and i have medical letter about my mother.they didnt want to see document! they said you cant expedite now you have to go biometric.at the same time my old bio added to my i485.they dindt even apply to i131 .ridiculous

3 weeks to 25 months it was 3.5 months to 6 months , anyone understand what's happening ??

I told them that my new job requires me to be a green card holder. And its already been around 2 years and i have already been rejected from 3 jobs offers before. Lets see ut could be miss or hit. Fingers crossed. They did not ask me for any paperwork yet. If they i can provide the job offer with the requirements.

How many days it took them to give the decesion from the day you applied?

Sahil728 Good luck, I hope they approve it but it is highly unlikely to get approved for Expediate request.

Recently I applied for Expediate request too based on the humanitarian reason but they didn't even look at the paper work and simply declined it.

and it took 4 days to get a decision and Its been 2 year now I filed my I-485 application, still pending..........

They denied my expedite request too. Also they did not ask for any documentations

they are really idiot! they applied my old biometric to i485 but at the same time they wants to get new biometric for travel document.wtf man .god help us

LMAO. Same here but in the other way. They applied my old FP to my I-765, but at the same time, they ask for my FP to my I-485. The funny fact is that I applied for I-131 6 months ago and recently my RTD case changed to "fingerprints have been applied to your case", even when my I-485 case got stock in "We accepted the fingerprint fee", for more than 2.5 years.
