H1B, H4 Visa

Went for interview at chennai consulate two weeks back. Interview went well because I had all docs including the infamous client letter.

The VO gave me Yellow slip and asked to wait. I waited for 30-40 min.

I was called to another counter...this time it was an Indian lady....she asked another set of question about client, the project and responsibilities. Again waited for 30-40 min

Finally I was called to same VO counter again and she gave me 221g with no document requested, told they need to do some admin processing and returned my passport.

Anybody in the same boat can tell how much time it will take since no docs were requested and what could be the probable reason.

Hii had my interview yesterday.
Vo collected my lca. I129 and project document.
She returned my passport and gave white slip with administrative processing checked.

How long does it take?
Anyone with same experience?

Feb 7th: emailed all the requested documents in specified format to US consulate on given mail id.
Feb 7th: system generated email acknowledgment received for documents submission.
Feb 12th: Visa status on CEAC portal updated to “Administrative Processing”.
March 4th: US dept. of state contacted my client and requested for additional information related to me.
March 12th: email received for submission of all the passports to nearest VAC ASAP.
March 15th: Passport submitted. Visa status “Administrative Processing”.
March 18th: Visa status “Administrative Processing”. Passport status “You passport is still with US consulate/embassy.”
March 19th: Visa Status “Issued”. Passport status “You passport is still with US consulate/embassy.”
March 20th: email received for passport collection from VAC. Passport status “You passport is ready for pick-up”. Personally collected my passport with visa stamping.

Note: You will definitely get your visa stamped if you’ve all the documents, so nothing to worry. Just be patient and you should receive an update for sure!

Suggesstion to F1 to H1 dont get panic if you receive 221G white slip, you will get your visa approved in 3 to 5 days if your profile is clean

I had given interview on Feb 12, 2019.

Interview went well but at the end VO handed over me 221G Yellow slip ( Passport is kept by officer ), where it was mentioned to submit extra documents through email.

I had submitted the documents after a week.

After several days gone on 18th March 2019, Embassy has returned my passport with 221G Green slip, saying additional administrative processing is required and embassy will contact you through email again.(No documents asked now)

Has anyone gone through such situation ?

Attended visa interview at chennai consulate in October 2018 and got 221G blue slip with additional documents request. My employer were not able to provide the client contract documents. So found new job and applied for H1 transfer. Now if I get approval what is the process for visa stamping?

1) Do I need to send email to consulate for withdrawn the previous 221G issued visa stamping process before I go for interview? or not required?

2) What consulate VO will ask in this scenario? What will be the approval rate for this scenario?

3) It require to attend interview for same chennai consulate?

My client and vendor got call to verify the details on client and vendor letters on March 12th and 13th. And no update since then. After how long will there be an update on my case? Will there be any other verification after this? I am F1 - H1 first time H1 stamping in Hyd. My case last updated date is still the interview date.

So wanted to share my experience with H1B stamping with prior DUI. I had simple DUI in 2013 (no accident, no injury and only alcohol), after reading all the post online I was already prepared that I would be asked to go through the medical evaluation when going for VISA stamping. Since 2013 I haven't been to India as my parent visited me and then I wanted to complete 5 yrs of time post the DUI. So finally I decided to go to India in March 2019 for 4 weeks time period keeping medical evaluation in mind.

6th Mar 19: I complete my bio metrics.
7th Mar 19: Interview day, as normal went to embassy in New Delhi, so many people out there but I was more confident compared to first time when I went to VISA stamping in 2011. I think being working in USA gives you that boost to interact with people easily.

VISA Interview:
1) ME: Good morning officer, How are you doing today?
 - VO: Doing good thanks for asking.

2) VO: Passport and I-797 please
 - ME: Handed over

3) VO: How long have been you in USA and working for this company?
 - ME: 8 years in USA and have been there since 2006 with this company

4) VO: What's your job title?
 - ME: Technical Program manager

5) VO: You had a DUI?
 - ME: Yes, I made a mistake of driving post having a drink and it happened in 2013

6) VO: What happened?
 - ME: Explained as what all happened

7) VO: Do you have court papers?
 - ME: Yes, gave the court disposition documents and expunge certificate

8) VO: What was the sentencing?
 - ME: Explained the details of sentencing.

9) VO: You never came back post 2013 to India?
 - ME: Yes, I was completing my un-supervised probation which was part of my sentencing till 2016 and then expunged my case in 2017. My parents visited me.

10) VO: I would like to send you to medical evaluation at one of the center.
- ME: Sure, I did completed my medical evaluation from USA in case you would like to see it.

11) VO: Sure, show me?
 - ME: Handed over the US medical report

12) VO: Hold on, she went back to her senior and came back saying this is good but still we need the record from our local medical center
 - ME: Sure

13) VO: Her is 221 for submitted passport with medical at VAC. Another List with medical centers and gave me my passport with these two 221
- ME: Thank you, you have a wonderful day.

Came out of embassy, went back to hotel. I was staying close to embassy in Ashoka so was like 5 min drive. Called the medical center completed the medical evaluation on 7th Mar 19 itself, completed my psychiatrist evaluation on 8th Mar 19 morning.

Got medical report on 9th evening (Saturday).
Submitted the Passport with 221G and medical report on 11th Mar 2019.
On 14th Mar 2019 the status changed to "Issued" by evening.
Received passport with VISA on 16th

I hope this will help someone out there in the same situation. DUI is always a bad mark on the papers and in ones life though if you learn from your mistakes and move on you don't have to look back.

Attended interview on 7th Jan 2019 and received 221g pink slip . After 10 weeks got the passport issued ,but still my wife and kids is showing admin process.Any one faced like this situation ? Please let me know

H4 Visa in Administrative Processing since 11th March 2019, no 221 g issues , no email for additional documents.
