H1B, H4 Visa

Hello, I have attended my H1B visa stamping on Feb 27th at Toronto. On March 1st I could see the visa issued on the DS 160 Tracking. What is the correct website to check the passport delivery status? Also how long is the time from the time visa issued to the passport delivery? thanks!

This will be my 4th H-1B stamping - same company with a big consulting firm for last 8 years, I-140 approved. All previous experiences have been fairly smooth.

Passport drop-off: Feb 19
Case created: Feb 20
Case updated: Feb 21 (admin processing)

It hasn’t changed since then. Have not received any emails or requests for additional information. Supposed to fly back this weekend, but not sure if it will happen. Anyone with similar experiences who have not gotten any additional requests from the consulate? I do see others having to wait for longer times.

Is it considered negative to send emails to the consulate to follow-up - some places say that send emails only after 60 days have passed by.

Recently I appeared for H1B visa interview with my family at Mumbai
Below is the discussion I had

Q1. Give me your petition documents
Me. I handed over documents
Q2. What are role are you travelling for ?
Me. I said the role name as per LCA
Q3.What will be roles of responsibilities for this role ?
Me. I explained job duties as per speciality occupation
Q4. How long are you married to her (looking at my wife)?
I said 4 years
Q5.Whats your salary ?
Me. I told her both salaries

After last question lady handed me over informative paper which has USA laws etc. information
Later she started typing for 5 to 7 mins and I was pretty sure that my visa will get approved
However after 5 mins I was handed with yellow slip with 3 check boxes selected

Check boxes marked were documents required like Client letter and Client contractual documents
As I had submitted Client Letter and all Contractual letter as part of RFE in past, I tried to explain here however she said don’t show me send it to this email

Passport for all were kept and I was told to email the required documents

On second day I submitted all the documents to given email ID
On fifth day I got email saying that your passport is ready to pickup
I assumed that Passport must have been printed with Visa however all passport came without visa stamping on it
This time I was given Green slip with only one check box marked with Your application requires Administrative Processing this office will contact you

Any Idea on how long will this Administrative Processing, this is very frustrating .

I attended Visa Interview on 14th February along with my wife.
Our Visa Interview went well and the Visa Officer told us that Visa is approved, we did not get any 221-g slip. She just verified I797 and stick a yellow sticky note on the back of passport with "SEVIS" written on it.

The ceac.state.gov shows "Administrative Processing" for Dependent application ID with the last case updated date as 14th Feb (Interview date) and "Application Received" for Primary applicant with case updated on 13th February (Fingerprint appointment Date).

What are the chances of getting both passports separately ?

First of all, thank you for your valuable experiences here in this site. They are very helpful in preparing for the interview.
It's time to share my experience.

My interview was scheduled for 8.00 clock on 2/25, I reached center earlier so asked me to come back at 7:45. So, I went to nearby Starbucks and returned at 7:45.

After that security person checked my appointment copy and asked me to wait inside. There are like 10 people before me.

A word of advice don't carry anything not necessary, I saw they send someone outside, may be they hold some items.

I gave my passport, appoint confirmation, Ds160 and I797 confirmation to the lady at the front desk. She asked me what is your Candian status said Visitor. Then she asked me to go to either 2 or 3 window inside.

After that security guards scanned my stuff and I noticed they have cupboards to keep our cellphones and other items. The basket is small so a mobile phone, hotel key guards can fit in. You can your walet with you.

After entering inside I saw we can take pictures inside. Which is like 5 Canadian dollars. In case you forgot to get them. Make sure you have a 10 dollar bill.

While am waiting for my turn am a bit nervous looking around and memorizing and processing what to say.

My turn came and I went to second window, she greeted good morning, then am asked my passport, Ds 160, i-797, photo and gave appointment confirmation. The lady at the counter told me appointment confirmation is not needed. So I took it. Asked questions like is it your first h1b. I said yes. Then after few mins she gave back my passport, i797, photo and ds 160. Then asked me to go to the next counter number 4. This lady

On counter 4 she greeted me good morning I am asked my passport, ds 160, i797 and she took my finger printing and asked me to stay in the line and wait for my turn for the interview. She also gave me the know your rights pamphlet. Asked me to check them meanwhile and interviewer might ask you. Then i has a few glances and finally my turn came.

luckily, i have a seat to sit. Sat relaxingly and greeted her good morning and gave my passport, ds 160 and I797

VO: is this your first h1b interview?
me: yes madam
VO: who is your employer?
me: answered
VO: what does your employer do?
me: it consulting
VO: what is your salary per year?
me: answered
VO: what is your highest education?
me: answered with branch name
VO: did you do any projects while yiu are studyung?
me: I told about research papers and a project that I remembered
VO: In last five years other than home country how many country you visited?
me: answered
VO: Your Visa approved, you will get your passport in 2-3 days
me: thank you madam and have a nice rest of the day.

It's okay to ask second time if you don't understand. Personally I did myself.

Am still waiting for my Passport. one day passed excluding interview day. Even though VO said you are approved, the status is administrative processing. I will update once I get my passport.

bottomline, almost all of them who's been interviewed prior to me are approved.

All thes best for the folks attending their interviews in near future. I tried my best to cover everything I experienced, observed, and asked. Hope this helps you guys.

Can somebody share there counsular notification visa stamping for h1-b approval in Indian embassy?
How is the process? Is it normal or is there any complications?

My friend is currently on H1-b and his visa is expiring on 31st March 2019. His extension is in process and his Spouse is in India so her H4 extension cannot be filed. He had below questions :

 Can he sponsor his wife for B2
 Will that have any impact on his H1-B extension
 Will that have any impact on her H4 extension in future

Any expert advice ?

I could see the passport status as " Passport has been received from the consular section and is currently being processed for delivery" but Visa application status still shows "Administrative Processing and case last updated date shows 21-feb".

Did anybody come across with this situation?
