First Time H1B
Hello Everyone,

Hope someone would be able to respond. I have received only I 797C (Notice of Action of approval Notice) we have not received the courtesy copy of approval from USCIS. its been More than 60days and when my employer contacted USCIS yesterday, they said they have already forwarded the details to India Consulate and go for stamping.

1) Can go for stamping without courtesy copy of approval?
2) I will be resigning my current company in India and will be joining new company in US. What are the documents required for me for successful stamping?
3) There were no travel history past 11yrs and this is my first H1B would that be a concern?

Awaiting for your response. Please suggest.

Thank you

221g blue slip issued at Chennai consulate
Hello Everyone,
I had my H1B stamping interview at the Chennai Consulate. Was issued a 221g(blue) asking for client details and tax docs for the company

I am actually a full time employee at a tech company in the Bay Area that sells software to customers, i as a consultant travel to the customer site 10% of the time for workshops, trainings. I do not work for a staffing agency.

Docs Requested
1) Tax returns
2) Client letter
3) project details, employees assigned,etc
4) Market Demand for the final product

The lawyers have submitted docs to justify the same and also the bonafides of the company like the in-house product details and documents to show that we have a physical office space.

Has anybody faced this? It has been 5 weeks since the attorneys submitted the docs. Still AP on CEAC Website

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

H1b Dropbox Mumbai - Feb 2019
Starting this thread to share Mumbai H1b Dropbox Experience :

I had my documents dropped off on 11th Feb. The lady who took my documents told me it will take 2 weeks to receive passport. I told her I have a flight on 23rd Feb, is there anyway they can fasten up the process, there was no definite answer.

My visa application status is "Application Received" since 12th Feb with no further updates. Is anyone else in similar situation?

Kolkata Consulate good for H1-B stamping
Hello,

A US employer applied for my H1-B, while I am in India. I have to get it stamped.
1. is there a chance that it might still get rejected during the interview?
2. Which consulate is safe for the interview/stamping? I was thinking Kolkata consulate since the waiting period is less. Will it be a safer option?

H1B Interview Questions (F1>OPT>H1B)
Hi,

I did my Masters from University of Colorado Boulder on 12th May 2017. I received the 1-year OPT from 19th June 2017 to 18th June 2018. I joined County of Monterey on 21st June 2017 as Network Systems Engineer II. The County applied for my H1B visa as cap-exempt on 13th June 2017, received specialty occupation RFE on 25th June.
Since County was not e-verified, I was not able to apply for STEM Extension. My SEVP portal extended my OPT from 18th June 2018 to 30th Sept 2018 (Cap-gap, but apparently since it was cap-exempt, I was not supposed to get it). I worked till 30th Sept 2018 on the belief that I had cap-gap.
On Oct 2nd, my H1B got rejected. I talked to my ISSS advsior who informed me that I had 60-day grace period to leave US. The County told me to resign and they reapplied for the H1B on 16th Nov 2018, got same RFE on 23rd Nov. Finally, the petition has been approved on 6th Feb, 2019.

I had few questions with DS-160 and other interview related questions:

1. In the DS-160, under primary occupation, should I put "Unemployed" as I am unemployed right now and reason being that "I was waiting for the USCIS decision on my petiton"?

2. The County's immigration firm is strictly against me giving visa interview in India. They want me to give it in Trindad/Barabados. I am against it as it is my first stamping plus expenses plus don't want to get stuck in another country. Please advice what should I do.

3. Should I take previous rejected H1B petition along with me to the consulate?

Please advise.

Thanks

H1/H4 Visa Interview Experience
Went for my H1/H4 Visa Interview in Delhi. Here are the timelines:

22nd Jan: Attended Interview in Delhi
25th Jan: Passport ready for pickup in Indore Blue Dart.

I work for a major Mobile Carrier in US.

VO asked about my I797 and LCA.
NO questions were asked from my wife.
The whole interview took less than 5 minutes. Was very tense as I had seen the same VO grilling 3 candidates before me.

In Atlanta , at POE, no papers were asked , although I carried the usual stuff.

A copy of the employment contract or tetter of agreement signed
by you and the petitioner.

A copy of the contract between the U.S.-based petitioner and the

the timing, terms and agreement for your project.

A letter (on letterhead) from the personnel department at the U.S.
